Hi again everyone! Thank you so much for the kind reviews on the last chapters! I didn't honestly think my writing would be received well at all so it's kind of a relief that people don't totally hate it. This chapter is going to start from Blaine's perspective and then transition.
As always I hope you guys enjoy. :D

As Kurt started to walk away with Mercedes, Blaine couldn't help but watch him. The way his long legs strode down the sand perfectly, the way the moonlight hit off his porcelain skin perfectly. He didn't know what it was about Kurt, but he seemed to occupy his thoughts since he got in that car just hours ago.
As Blaine zoned out on his thoughts conveniently in the direction that Kurt was walking, Sam decided to cough Blaine's attention to him. Blaine whipped his head around to Sam and he just gave him a knowing look.
"Watcha thinking about buddy?" Sam asked, barely able to hide his grin.
Blaine whipped his head to the side at Sam questioningly.
"You looked pretty deep in thought there my dude"
Allie piped up, which surprised Blaine, because she didn't really talk much. He figured if it got her to comment then he must have been really obvious. He never noticed much of Allies appearance until now. She had long black hair, she was skinny but healthily so. She wore black pants that fit her legs well and dark vans flat tops. She wore her hair down but he wondered what it would look like tied up in a hair tie or in some other fashion, but assumed it was hardly ever like that. She had dark brown eyes that didn't seem to convey a lot of emotion unless it was truly necessary.
He realized again that he was getting lost in his own thoughts but decided to try to save himself anyway from the previous question,
"Nothing, just that the ocean looks really great in this moonlight, perfect picture opportunity."
"Mmhmm" Allie and Sam mumbled in unison.
They stopped pressing it and decided to leave Blaine to his thoughts, even though all three of them knew it was an awful excuse.
Allie realized that she knew hardly anything about Blaine except for the fact that he was gay, 21, and that he wanted to major in english.
"So, Blaine, Why do you want to major in english?"
Blaine seemed kind of thrown off by the question simply because he was in his own world of thoughts, completely unaware of anything besides the ocean and the moonlight reflecting off of it.
"I have always loved literature, whether it be from Harry Potter to Morpheus Road, all the way to 1984 and Handmaid's tale. I've been reading novels throughout my entire life and decided I loved them enough to make my life about them. So, I'm hopefully going to use my degree to end up either writing or teaching, we'll see which one happens." He said with a shrug, as if anything about him wasn't very important.
"What do your parents think of you wanting to major in english?" Allie asked curiously
"The same as they think about anything in my life, whether it being gay, working at a gym, or majoring in english, they don't approve"
"Your parents disapprove of you being gay?" Allie asked, concerned about how someone could have parents that hated everything their child did.
"Yep, they always have, ever since I came out to them 6 years ago. I think that's the reason they have had disdain for anything else I've tried to pursue in my life, they are holding my sexuality over me like it's a curse. I honestly don't care at this point." He shrugged it off like it wasn't a big deal, until he felt a hand on his knee and looked up to see Kurt.
"Sorry, I didn't want to eavesdrop but we just walked up in the middle of that. I'm so sorry Blaine." Kurt gave him a small forced smile trying to make him feel better in any way that he could.
Blaine had no idea why but he felt slightly better than he usually did after talking about his parents. Whether it was because he was surrounded by people he hoped would support him or because of the light touch of Kurt's soft hand on his knee accompanied by his warm smile, he didn't know. He appreciated being able to talk about it all the same though, and returned Kurt's smile with a genuine one
"Thanks Kurt, I appreciate that." Nobody missed the fact that Kurt kept his hand on Blaine's knee slightly longer than he probably should have, or the fact that they just looked at each other in companionable silence for a minute or two longer than necessary. They didn't want to interrupt though so they just let them stare at each other, blissfully unaware of the people around them.
Sam coughed rather audibly causing both Blaine and Kurt to snap out of their trance to get their attention. After hearing Sam, both Kurt and Blaine snapped out of it and moved around awkwardly before looking at eachother again bashfully.
They let the silence fall and just listened to the music playing from Sam's speaker, looking out onto the ocean. It hit 10:30 and the group decided it was a good idea to start heading back home. Allie picked up the umbrella and wrapped it up, Blaine picked up the towels and folded them, Mercedes grabbed the garbage, and Sam grabbed the rest of their stuff and headed back to the car. Kurt didn't know what to grab so just walked back with Mercedes when she started heading back to the car and linked their arms together as they went.
Blaine realized he forgot his phone and his bag and turned to move back down to the sand,
"Ah shit I forgot my phone, let me go grab it really quick."
"No I'll get it, dont worry about it." Kurt spoke up, blocking Blaine from going. He figured he might as well grab something since he didn't take anything back to the car initially.
He took a minute to look again across the beach and at the ocean before he left. He felt the cool breeze on his face, and the sand under his shoes. He took in the faint laughter of the people on the other side of the beach and turned back around to go back up the path to get to the car where his friends were waiting.
Kurt ran back through the short intersection onto the sandy part of the beach and grabbed the rest of the belongings from their spot and headed back. As he was walking back across the intersection, he didn't hear the yelling of warning from Blaine and Sam, and before he knew it he was unconscious in the middle of the road.
He didn't hear the screams of his name as Blaine, Kurt, Mercedes, Sam, and Allie came rushing to his side. Or the screeching of the tires of the car reversing and going out the way they came. He didn't hear the swearing coming from Sam at the car driving as quickly away as possible. Or the tears falling from Mercedes face. All he felt was a sharp pain in his side and the hitting of his head on the pavement before blacking out.
*Two days later*
Kurt woke up but didn't open his eyes, he heard voices near him and he was trying to figure out why he was in so much pain. His whole body ached, his head was pounding, and his stomach hurt so badly that he would be clutching his stomach if he felt like he could move.
"Is he going to be okay?" He heard the unforgettable sound of his dad's voice and realized again that he was in so much pain.
"He should be fine, he just needs to stay here in the hospital for observation but we should be able to let him out in no more than a weeks time." He heard an unknown voice and didn't have enough energy to even care about who they were.
"Thank god, he looks like he's in so much pain right now." He knew that voice, that was Carole. She was speaking breathlessly, as if she had been crying, which made him wonder if he looked as bad as he felt.
He opened his eyes at the sound of Caroles voice and found her sitting next to him with her hand on the side of the bed rail, looking like she hadn't slept in a day at least. She looked at him with enough caring and sympathy that he felt just a little bit better with knowing that her and his father were there with him.
Burt walked over and put a gentile hand on Kurts knee,
"How you doing buddy?" He knew he wasn't feeling well but he didn't know what else to say.
"Same as last time being here, I feel like shit. But this time, I don't know why. How long was I out?"
Kurt didn't recognize his own voice. It came out dry and chalky and questioned again what happened and how long he'd been in the hospital.
"Just that night and then one more full day after that, you woke up briefly but they put you back under so that they could do slight surgery on your leg. You're lucky it wasn't worse buddy."
Mercedes walked in and Kurt felt an instinctual smile as a response to seeing his best friend. She returned the smile warmly but it wasn't her usual toothy smile that spread to her ears. It was filled with concern and Kurt wondered how bad of shape he really was in.
"Lucky is not what I would call it Mr. Hummel, but I guess you're right in some aspect. Hey boo, are you okay?"
"Hey 'Cedes, and you know, the same as last time here⦠Shitty, but this time i'm just confused."
He didn't notice the other person behind her until he piped his head up and said
"Last time?" in a very curious tone.
At that moment Kurt felt whatever little air he had in his lungs completely leave his body, not only did Blaine have to see Kurt in whatever he was wearing looking worse than he probably ever has, but now he knows that this isn't the first time he's been in the hospital for something serious.
Mercedes seemed to notice what was wrong with Kurt and she covered for him
"Long story." She said it to where it would kill his curiosity for now but he would most likely ask questions in the future either to Kurt or to her.
Kurt nodded his head to Mercedes in thanks and she walked over to the chair opposite of Carole on the other side and held out her hand. He took it instinctually and nodded his head again. She just gave him a small smile and nodded back. The fact that they could talk to each other without actually speaking showed just how well they knew each other, and Kurt found himself again, thinking about how lucky he was to have a friend like Mercedes always by his side.
Blaine shook hands with Burt and Carole and introduced himself. He still seemed uncomfortable, with what, Kurt wasn't sure. But he really wanted to know. Instead, Kurt thought of something slightly more important to him at that moment,
"So what exactly is wrong with me and what needs to be fixed?" Kurt asked, purely curious, even though he knew how bad that question sounded coming out. He didn't care enough to sugar coat it and he figured his parents wouldn't either.
"Your left leg was broken which was the surgery that they went through with while you were still under, and then you have a bruised lung which isn't as bad as it sounds, you're just going to need meds for that and breathing will be slightly difficult for a couple of weeks. You will be able to leave here in about a weeks time though, so that's basically the only good news. Oh, and you're going to have to keep the cast on for 3 weeks as well, so you're going to have to get used to crutches."
Kurt had only ever heard his dad talk that fast and that anxiously before one other time, and it was when he was in the hospital the first time in high school. Burt said it so quickly that Kurt knew he would have more questions, but didn't care enough to keep asking. He also never noticed the cast until his dad mentioned it, he figured that was just because he couldn't feel much of his body at that point.
"Any word from Finn recently?" Kurt asked this while trying to not sound slightly disappointed that his brother didn't manage to make it, he really missed him when they didn't get to see each other often.
Carole shined a small smile but had the look in her eyes that showed how much she loved Kurt and Finn cared about each other, it was like the word "Step" in their relationship meant nothing, they were brothers whether it was by blood or not.
"He's still at school sweety, but we called him to let him know and he's going to try to make it here as soon as he can, he said he would be here in at least two days, but probably sooner."
"Awesome, I wish we could see him under better circumstances," Kurt made a hand motion going up and down his body, "But I guess I'll take what I can get."
"You and me both buddy" Burt said from the other side of the room where he was comfortably sitting in a chair, doing nothing in particular.
Carole nodded in agreement and they sat in amicable silence for a couple minutes before Burt got up, and said,
"I'm headed to the cafeteria for some coffee, anyone care to come with or want anything?"
"I'll come." Carole said
"Me too." Mercedes said, getting up from her seat and putting her purse where she was sitting.
"Kurt, Blaine, do you guys want anything?" Mercedes turned, to ask.
"The biggest bottle of water you can find." Kurt turned his head into the pillow and mumbled.
"Nothing for me thanks." Blaine replied, not wanting to intrude on anything, even though he felt like he was intruding just being there. After only knowing Kurt for 3 days .
Blaine came up from the front of the bed and stood uncomfortably, shifting on his feet not knowing what to do with himself. Before he mumbled something out, but Kurt didn't hear it.
"What?"
"I'm sorry."

Hey everyone! I know I took a slight hiatus from updating this story, and i'm sorry for that but life sorta got in the way. I'm going to be uploading a bit more frequently this week because I'm on spring break so my only obligations are work and the gym. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter even though it took a slight turn in where it was going, this wasn't my plan the whole time but I liked the idea the more I wrote on it.
Much love to anyone taking the time to read this story :D
