A/N: Fair warning everyone, this story may contain a bit more gore than the previous chapters.
Kandrona Components? Part Two
Unknown Assassin
When I found out that I was going to be killed if the strange children in front of me would not reveal anything about their real identities, I chuckled and looked up at the Doctor with a confident smile, saying, "Sure, go ahead, blow my brains away, see if it will get you anything out of them. If they really are from the Brotherhood, I know that they would know better than to just give out anything to people like you."
One of them, a dark haired Hispanic boy, shouts, "But we don't know what the hell you guys are talking about. I've never heard of the Brotherhood or anything about Assassins." He looks up to the madwoman known as Dr. Castillo. "You're going to try and kill him even if he doesn't know a thing? That makes no sense at all."
The boy's response catches me by surprise. If they weren't on my side, then what were they doing here? Judging from their strange blue friend, they didn't seem to be civilians.
Dr. Castillo looks at the children and alien, then back at me. She throws me face first on the ground once again as she says, "Well, I suppose that you are correct, none of you seem to recognize what I am talking about."
"Great, does that mean that we're off the hook?" The boy asks.
"Unfortunately, even if you kids aren't part of those filthy Assassins, you did trespass and attempt to take Abstergo property. You would all be severely apprehended just from the fact that you came here without permission. Now just imagine how much punishment you would face from actually coming here in search of something."
The kid gulps as he looks at the small pistol in her hand. "Take this bastard back in the hold. He's admitted more than once that he doesn't have any more information to give us, he will have the opportunity to finally be one of the first to put in our new Animus model."
My eyes open wide open in shock. Am I to become another subject?!
I feel as if this has gone long enough. the blue centaur in the corner says. Strangely enough, he doesn't exactly say this, since he doesn't have a mouth to begin with. However I hear his words. In my head. Surely, I wasn't going crazy months after being interrogated. Prince Jake, may I free myself out of bondage now?
A brown haired child bound up in the corner nods. The alien then lifts it tail up, hard enough to break the chain from the floor. Its remains clink on the ground, much to the surprise of Dr. Castillo and the other staff in the room. He then proceeds to slam the end of his tail against the floor, shattering the sterile white tiles, until the lock holding the tip of his tail bound breaks and reveals a deadly "scythe". The scythe rapidly frees himself out of his bonds, then breaks the other children out of theirs. As the children start getting up, Dr. Castillo keeps the shaking gun raised at them.
"Don't you dare move, any of you! I will order these people to open fire on you all." She yells at them.
One female assistant hesitates. "Dr. Castillo, don't you think that it would be too much to shoot them. We could just gas them and, besides, they're just children. Not even the Assassin's children at that."
"I don't care if you say are just mere children. Not only are they a danger to all of our lives, but they will be a danger to our front. Just imagine if word got out that we had brought an Animus prototype to California." She glares at the group of children as she adds, "Oh, it wouldn't matter if almost all of the Assassins are dead and gone, the remaining ones will be all over this news. This is something that I just cannot risk happening."
I smile to myself as I realize she hadn't been keeping an eye on me this entire time and decide to take advantage of her vulnerability. I make eye contact with a pair of the alien's eyes and move my gaze toward Dr. Castillo, who is trying to decide who to shoot first. As she finally takes aim at the alien, I use my bounded legs to trip her.
"Oomph!" She falls flat on the ground, gun clattering away from her reach. The creature moves forward, knocking her cold with the flat side of its "blade". It looks up at the other staff, who reluctantly decide whether to shoot or not. One of them finally pulls the trigger at the alien. The bullet hits it in the arm, blue-black blood flowing from its wound. Its facial expression changes to one full of rage. It acts immediately, furiously glaring at the attacker and thrusting its tail forward toward him. The male staff's head drops on the ground, blood spraying out of his neck stump.
The female assistant stares at the head in complete horror, her mouth gaping wide open, then she hyperventilates violently for a few seconds before swiftly losing consciousness from shock, her revolver sliding from her hand as she crumples onto the floor.
The other three assistants start screaming and repeatedly crying crude words out in fear, one of them throwing up next to the headless corpse, his vomit mingling with the scarlet blood. They all drop their guns and immediately hold their hands up in the air. The alien steps forward and knocks them all out, one by one.
As they both fall slumped onto the floor, the mounted eyes on its head glance toward me. A moment of silence passes with one of its "slug eyes" looking straight at me and the other looking at the group of children behind it, who are surprisingly unfazed by what had just happened. Suddenly, they all nod and it raises its tail above its head. I look in horror as it quickly lowers it onto my arms and close my eyes.
Whumph. Whumph. I hear the binds on my hands and feet drop onto the floor, the blood circulation in my hands being restored. I open my eyes and see the children in front of me, expectantly staring at me. I slowly get up, rubbing the sore joints in my wrists. The alien slices the offending dog cone from his neck.
"I'm guessing that you all want me to lead you to a way out of here."
"Yes", the brown haired kid from before responds.
"Okay, seeing that we're both intent on escaping, I'll help you out. But there is one more thing that I have to do." I grab the keys from Dr. Castillo's and the other staff's pockets, putting them all in my slacks pocket. Then I take every one of their guns and aim a loaded revolver at one of them. An African-American girl in the group steps forth and yells, "Stop, please." The brown haired child, who I am now convinced is the leader of the group, holds her back as I put a bullet in the assistant's head, the silencer of the revolver muffling out the sound of the gun, then proceed to shoot the two other Abstergo staff. Then I walk over to Dr. Castillo, putting the gun against her head. I squeeze the trigger, looking upon the unconscious with a hate filled glare for having put me through such an ordeal over the past 3 weeks.
I glance upward up and see the horrified girl staring angrily at me, tears of frustration forming in her eyes. This must've been the first time someone has been killed in front of her. I can't help but feel some sympathy for her and reply solemnly, "I'm sorry to have killed them, but, even if they were defenseless, they would've alerted the others in the building."
She wipes a stray tear that falls from her left eye and sniffs, still steadily holding her unforgiving glare toward me. The leader silently nods in agreement. As I test out the assortment of keys, seeing which one will open the locked door, the Hispanic child comments, "Well, I guess that we don't have time to go destroy those Kandrona components."
A/N: What did I say last time people? The OC wasn't permanent.
If you've carefully read last chapter's author's note, I stated that the OC was not the assassin, but Dr. Castillo. Try and guess who the assassin is! Please review with your response or say if you liked the new direction of the story.
