Chapter 4-The Bringing Of Them Together

Nothing will get in our way! Not now, not ever!

I did homework, ate dinner, and then went to bed. I told everyone good night, and was off into my room

Tomorrow's going to be a long day... Waiting for the moment where they can meet... I'm so excited for them! This is going to be great! But... How are we gonna do it?

With those thoughts, I drifted off to sleep.

I got up and hastily got ready for school. Mom didn't seem to notice me hurrying, so it was okay. Dad was too busy sleeping still to notice, but he doesn't go to work till later, anyways. All that matters is that they won't be here later, after school, I mean. After I was done getting ready, I entered Repliku's room.

To my surprise, he was already awake. Normally, I'd have to wake him up.

"Good morning, Riku!" He grinned from eye to eye.

Of course, I was grinning to," Good morning!"

Our voices dropped down to a barely audible sound.

"So, Riku, how are we gonna do this?" He was bubbling over with excitement, I was too.

"Um... I dunno know for sure..." I paused to think.

How're we gonna do it...? I still don't know...

"Um... Well, you can't just go outside and walk around while I'm at school... and we can't be seen in public together..." I thought more.

Maybe Kairi and Namine could come home with me? Mom and Dad won't be home for a few hours... We should be fine!

"Kairi and Namine could walk over here! Since you can't go out, it'll be better!" I smiled at him.

"Yeah! It'll work out great!" He was more than happy.

I've never seen anyone this excited!

"Just be sure that you shower and wear clean clothes," I teased him.

"I do that everyday!" He laughed.

"I know! I was kidding!" We both were laughing. Then, I realized the time,"I gotta go! I don't wanna be late today!"

As I rushed out of his room, he said,"Bye! Have a good day!"

I really hope Kairi and Namine agree... I really want them to meet, properly.

As I walked to where Sora and I normally met up, I noticed something strange. Sora was already there?

Now, that's weird... Why is Sora here already? Did he actually wake up on time? How odd...

"Hey, Riku!" He smiled and asked me," What's up?"

"Nothing much, how about you?" I tried to sound sincere.

For half a second, I swear he had a hint of sorrow flash across his face, but just as quickly as it was there, it was gone,"I'm just great!"

Why would he lie? Maybe I'm just not trustworthy... I'd bet on that...

"Are you... Sure?" I just wanted to know... I thought of him as my best friend, along with Kairi.

"Yes!" He smiled brighter than the sun.

"Alright..." I weakly smiled back.

I have no right to pry on him and his personal life... He never really get to into mine... I'm sorry...

After that, we walked to school like normal. As always, Sora talked my ear off.

When we got there, Kairi and Namine were waiting for us.

"Hey, you two!" I said, trying to contain my happiness.

"Okay, what's wrong? You're never the first to say anything." Kairi noticed, as always.

Well, so much for containing my happiness... Kairi always notices, though... Haha.

"I'm fine! I just woke up in a good mood!" I wasn't lying.

"Heh, well, that's a first," She teased.

"Yeah, it kinda is. Anyways, do you think you and Namine walk home from school with me?" I asked, bubbling over with excitement.

"Um..." Kairi looked over at Namine.

"I... Don't mind..." Namine tried to smile.

"Alright," She looked back at me,"We'll go, then!"

"Great!" I grinned.

Sora gave us a questioning glance.

"Sorry, Sora, I got something to do..." I sighed," How about I tell you later?"

He smiled and replied happily,"Yes!"

Meanwhile, Repliku was getting ready to see Namine.

Ohmagosh! This is so exciting! I've never had my heart beat this fast! This is going to be so fun! I hope it all goes well... What if Namine gets upset... But, that's probably a low chance...

As he got ready, he found nice, clean clothes in his dresser, which he didn't typically have much of. I mean, why would he? He never goes out so it didn't really matter much to his parents. He did his best to look nice without over doing it, which was kind of hard for him.

When he was done, he sat down with his sketch book to draw. Though, he didn't do much drawing, his thoughts lingered too much.

I still have hours before they get here...

The day went on the same way as it did yesterday. Nami talked to me at lunch and we showed each other more drawings. I marveled over hers and she said mine were just as great. I knew they weren't, it was clear that she was a pro at art.

The end of the school day came on faster than it seemed. I went to Kairi and Namine's class and got them, then I met up with Sora at the school's entrance. Of course, Sora was so hyper he could bounce off walls. He tried to talk to all of us, even Namine, who actually opened up a bit to his craziness, but she was still hesitant to talk more than a few words

We parted ways with Sora at the spot I normally do everyday. We said our goodbyes and finished walking home.

As we made it there, I led them to the backyard, where Repliku could not be seen. I asked them to wait and I went inside to get Repliku.

He called out inside the house,"Repliku, I'm home? Are you ready?"

I then heard a few stumbling noises come from his room and then he flew down the stairs,"Yes!" He was clearly overjoyed.

"Great! Then let's head outside to greet them! Properly, this time." I grinned at him, he grinned back.

He mumbled something just before we were at the backdoor,"What if she's upset that we hid it...? The truth, I mean..."

I was surprised by this.

I knew you had emotions!

"Don't worry, I doubt she will," I gave him a confident smile and we headed out the backdoor.

When we walked out there, Kairi looked extremely happy and Namine looked absolutely shocked.

I heard a small sound come out of Namine's mouth,"Wha-?" She looked so confused, but not angry or upset.

Kairi and I gave out a little laugh. Repliku, as I noticed, couldn't look at Namine.

Is he... Shy? All of a sudden...? It's kinda funny.

I broke the awkward silence quickly,"Hey, Namine," I waited for her to look at me, then I continued,"This is Repliku, a copy of me."

I really don't know what else to say...

"Um... H... Hi..." She managed to mutter.

"H...Hey... Hi..." Repliku replied back.

"I'm sorry to suddenly be telling you this, but you weren't talking to me at that social party... It was him," I looked a Repliku and noticed him and Namine made eye contact and were faintly smiling at each other.

"You're... Not mad... Are you, Namine?" He said, pleading for her to say no.

"No! Of course not! Why would I be upset?" She was being dead serious, that much was clear.

Relief washed over his face,"Oh... Thank you!" He smiled brighter than the sun, itself," Thank you, Namine!"

"I... It's nothing!" She started to blush and then she said quietly,"You... You can call me... Nami..."

Repliku hesitated for a moment,"...Um... Okay, Nami!"

They talked like that for sometime, while they were talking, Kairi and I were, as well. Though, we seemed kind of awkward as well.

In the end, we managed to bring two who seemed to be met for each other, together. All that mattered was their happiness. They left after a hour or two since Mom and Dad were due to come home in about 30 minutes.

"Riku, thank you! Thank you so much!" He was extremely happy, hopefully he could confine that from Mom and Dad so they didn't suspect a thing.

"You're welcome!" I flashed him a smile and then Mom and Dad came inside.

"We're home!" They yelled, opening the door.

"Welcome home!" I yelled back as they walked in.

After that, the day continued as normal. We ate dinner, I did my homework with Repliku, and then went off to bed.

It was kinda hard to fall asleep with all that happened today...

Today was quite fun! I got to see Kairi smile that beautiful smile of her's... There was no doubt, I loved her... And, Namine and Riku got alone better than we all imagined! They had endless things to talk about. It was a very interesting conversation... Too bad it seemed like it only lasted a few minutes. But, damn, it was worth it... I never get to see Kai after school, she's more laid back when not having so many people around. She's so stunning...

I could hear Repliku getting ready for bed not too long after I did.

After Riku went to bed, I did too.

I'm so glad that Riku did this for me! It made me so happy! She's so pretty! And not to mention she's super smart! She can teach me so many things about the world! I never really realized how ignorant I was until talking to people who were so smart... It makes me feel kinda small, not that I didn't already... But, it's okay because she is so wonderful... I don't think I'll ever meet anyone better! She's so nice, smart, beautiful, kind, and, not to mention, one hell of an artist! I have a feeling I won't be getting much sleep tonight...

It wasn't until about 3:00am they both were able to finally drift off to sleep, both of their last thoughts were:

I sure have been having a lot of sleepless nights lately...
