Chapter 3- Training And Backround
The next afternoon, Sasuke could be found at a firing range alongside Naruto.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Sasuke's shots barely hit the silhouette's shoulder, hip, and gut.
"Slow down and breath, Uchiha."
Sasuke looked the blond haired figure beside him. Sgt. Naruto Uzimaki.
"The gun won't work better if it fires faster. Wrap both hands around the grip, line up the sites, and realign them before your next shot. Fast but not too fast. Too fast and trigger snatch will keep your shots wide, too slow and you'll be ziptied in your first firefight."
Sasuke looked at Naruto as he demonstrated. Three bang, three pings, and three holes in the targets sternum.
Sasuke growled and tries again.
Hours later
Once Sasuke could group four shots in a two foot radius, Sasuke and Naruto are enjoying a dinner brake at Ichiraku, being served by the, in Sasukes opinion, the cutest waitress he has ever seen. Things seemed too quiet so Sasuke decided to strike up a conversation.
"So, Naruto, your a Marine?"
Naruto swallowed a mouthful of beef ramen, and grinned proudly.
"Enlisted at seven. Finished training at eight."
"So you've been around?"
"I've been sent to aid Mizu insurgents, kill Sunan insurgents, and scout the Snow's border."
Sasuke strained hi knowlage of the KMC (Konoha Marine Corps) before asking his next question.
"So your force recon?
"No, not force recon. I'm something you ninjas might call an... Terrain Qualified Force."
Sasuke was thrown for a loop, "I thought TQF's were ninja with a mastery of two or more elements?"
Naruto didn't miss a beat, "The Marine equivalent is a squad who can be dropped anywhere and accomplish most anything. Me, I'm a sniper and rifle specialist with a knack for being quiet when I feel like it."
Sasuke nodded, satisfied, and continued to eat his tomato. Nothing else, just a tomato.
"So," Naruto begins, "What's your story? Where have you fought, who have you met? The works?"
"I thought I was a wet behind the eares genin?"
"Yeah, and I'm not taking that back. But it's in your eyes, you've been in a few high stakes incounters. Might of lost a few of them."
Sasuke saw stars and held his head, when the stars faded, he saw his cursed eyes. He then saw Sakura and Sai, the empty look in Kakashi's eye as he sealed their bodies. He heard laughing. Zabuza, Haku, Gato. And him.
Sasuke managed to grunt out a barley heard "Too soon." Before he got up and walked away.
"I think you crossed a line."
Naruto turned to see the waitress, Ayame, was talking to him.
"Guess that makes us even."
Naruto then leaves, after leaving a tip of course.
Sorry this took so long. I lost inspiration for a bit. It would help if someone would review, but I'll try not to hold chapters hostage. I am in search of a beta, so if anyone's interested, drop me a line.
