Chapter 3

Present Day Higarashi Shrine

"Mom, I'm home. I need to ask you something." Kagome said as she and Inuyasha walked into her house. However, as they walked into the kitchen they say quite a surprise. Sitting at the table sat Kenmaru wearing a western modern day version of the clothes he wore in the feudal era drinking some tea with Kagome's mom Sakura. "Why hello there my old friends" Kenmaru said raising hand to say hi while having a cheerful expression and smile on his face.

Inuyasha and Kagome where so surprised to see him there that they instantly tripped and fell face first. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" Inuyasha yelled as soon as he got up. "What does it look like I'm doing. I'm having tea with an old friend of mine." Kenmaru answered nonchalantly as he took another sip of tea. "That's not what I meant and you know it" Inuyasha said still extremely agitated. "Inuyasha calm down." Kagome said trying to keep Inuyasha back. "What he means it how did you get here when we left you back in the feudal era? Did you pass though the well?" she added. "Oh I don't have the ability to pass through it." Kenmaru said in a tone that sounded like he was trying to piss Inuyasha off. "Then how the hell did you get here?!" Inuyasha yelled still irritated. "Oh that is simple. I just waited for you to show up isn't that right Sakura?" Kenmaru said still wearing that irritating expression on his face. "Yes, Mr. Kururugi has been here for a few hours now." Sakura answered.

"But we just left you back in the feudal era just now?" Kagome questioned with a puzzled look on her face. "You forget I am immortal. The me that you left behind was the me of 500 years ago. The me you are talking to now has already lived through the 500 years between then and now. Any way you came here to ask about your demon blood did you not Kagome." Kenmaru answered with a more serious look on his face.

"Oh that's right. Mom do you know why I had demon blood sealed within me?" Kagome asked her mother. "Yes sweetie, I did know since you were born looking like you do now." Sakura answered with an apologetic look on her face. "However, Kenmaru asked me to keep it a secert from you shortly after you were born." She added. "Wait you mean that you've known him since I was born?" Kagome asked even more confused. "Actually I've known both your parents for quite some time. In fact, I was the one who introduced them to each other." Kenmaru answered. "As for the seal, I was also the one who placed it on Kagome in the first place. I did it so as to not disturb the time line." He added.

"Okay well that answers all those questions but we still want to know why you choose now of all times to pay my mom a visit after all this time seeing how I never meet you in this time till now?" Kagome asked.

"Again it was to not disturb the time line and to have you give my past self a message. Tell him that Fuzan should awake in about one years' time." Kenmaru said with a very serious look.

"One year. Is that all the time we have till the seal breaks and that Fuzan guy wakes up. Then we should have plenty of time to prepare. Seeing as how you are here that must mean we won right." Inuyasha said with a cocky smile. "It would be wise not to underestimate him. Just because it worked for me that time doesn't mean it will work in your time. Trust me one year is not nearly enough time to prepare."

"Now now why don't we all calm down. It seems like you won't be coming back for a while after this right Kagome." Sakura said trying to defuse the tension in the room. "Looks like it before we go I have something I need to tell you." Kagome said. "What would that be?"

"Well last night Inuyasha kinda asked me to marry him and I said yes" Kagome answered with an embarrassed look on her face. "Oh that's wonderful news, when is the wedding and when can I expect to have cute dog-eared grandchildren" Sakura said practically glowing with happiness, which caused both Inuyasha and Kagome faces to go completely red with embarrassment.

"Sakura I would reframe from that kind of chatter while they are here. For now, I want you two to go back and train for Fuzen's revival" Kenmaru said. "Yeah I think that's a good idea" Inuyasha said as he and Kagome rushed back to the well to avoid any more questions from Sakura.

"Why did you do that Kenmaru? I just want to know when I can get any grandkids." Sakura asked. "Don't worry. As you know both of them are hanyous so their life span is a lot longer than yours is. Both Inuyasha and Kagome have made through the 500-year gap between then and now. So once everything is said and done I will let you see them and your grandkids. Is that okay? So let them focus on the task at hand." Kenmaru replied with an annoyed tone.

Back in the Feudal Era

Kenmaru is walking through what remains of an ancient battlefield. "It's been a while since I was last here." He said looking around with a nostalgic look on his face. He then he stopped at an old shrine. The shrine was simple yet it's design depicted three dragons and below it sat two orbs one white and one black. "To think it has come to this. I never thought that we would end up using this method." He said as he picked up the black orb, once he did the white one crumbled into dust and vanished. Once he placed the orb into his kimono he then turned his attention to a pillar. "From the looks of this the seal will mostly likely break within the next year. I really hoped I had more time to prep the kids for this but as things are now all I can do is train them as best I can and hopefully get a few more allies." He said looking into the distance as a strong wind blew.

Author's note and Chapter 4 preview.

I am so sorry that it has taken this long to post the new chapter. I have also edited and reposted chapters 1 and 2. I will try to post more chapters soon. As for the chapter 4 preview. Inuyasha and the gang begin training for Fuzan. I am also planning on putting in the dragon-scaled and black tetsusaiga's into this story as well as the Bakusaiga later on so look forward to it.
