May was so glad when even though he was sad Ash took her to all his favorite spots and she even caught him smiling genuinely a couple times.
Ash was seriously surprised when he found himself looking at May as something more than a friend *Oh my Arceus why do I feel like I'm in love I just got dumped.*
That night in Ash's dream: "Ash what is it?" asked May. "I-I love you May." Ash said before getting tackled into a hug. "Oh Ash I love you too." Then as Ash leant in for a kiss he woke up.
"I love May I have to tell her, but how," he said thought fully "Ah I've got it."
