Chapter Four - Intentions revealed

Authors Note - The poll is now closed due to the fact that it was a draw I decided just to go with what I thought would suit the story more and decided they won't travel with Brock but will see him occasionally. And thank you everyone who reviewed, I now have several ideas on which Pokémon will be captured. And apologies again due to long wait, will be much quicker updates from now on. And in response to messages about following the series too closely it will split from the show eventually but at the start will follow the show for the most part.

Later in the day Harry and misty walked through the entrance into viridian forest, having been delayed due to apologising for the damage caused by Vulcans last attack and helping to clean up and restore the centre to order. As they walked they could both hear the sounds of the surrounding Pokémon echoing around them. Turning to look at Misty, Harry saw that at certain sounds Misty would give a flinch and glance around with a look of terror in her eyes.

Harry frowned at this but decided that he wouldn't mention that he had noticed. However a few hours later they reached a clearing in the forest with a river running through they decided to stop for lunch with Misty barely having spoken and still flinching every few seconds Harry decided he would have to try and fix whatever problem she had.

"Misty!" Harry paused waiting for her to look up, once she had he carried on "Is there something wrong, you've been very jumpy since we entered the forest."

Almost before he had finished speaking Misty jumped up from where she was sat red in the face with fury burning in her eyes "Mind your own business Ketchum there's nothing wrong, it's just..." Misty trailed off looking over Harry's shoulder with a look of terror he now easily recognised after the day in the forest.

Harry spun around with Vulcans Pokéball in his hand ready to face an extremely strong enemy… Only to face a small Caterpie. There was a small pause where no one in their clearing moved or made any sound at all, this however was broken when the Caterpie started to crawl towards where Harry and Misty had sat down. And with a scream louder than any all-day Misty ran to the other side of the clearing where she then hid behind a thick group of trees, leaving Harry where he was now sat laughing.

Still chuckling as the Caterpie reached him, Harry leant down and noticed it was a very young Pokémon and decided not to capture it an instead offered it a small bit of his lunch which it took with an excited squeal before it turned and went back to where Harry assumed its family was.

Looking back up Harry noticed that Misty was still over behind the trees, so raising his voice called out "Misty it's okay, Caterpie's gone now." Harry could then see her eyes peek through the branches as if to check the truth of his words and then seeing no sign of the small bug Pokémon she slowly walked back over to him and looked up with slightly red cheeks.

"Sorry about that Harry, I just don't really like bug Pokémon." Harry noticed that was all said in a voice of great reluctance and decided to try and make her feel better.

"You're scared of them." Misty looked up as if to deny it but before she could he carried on "It's okay to be scared, we all have our fears and they just go towards making us all unique and they are nothing to be ashamed of." Misty hearing this gained a look of contemplation and then seeing the truth in what he said gave a slightly grateful smile and then went back to her lunch, with neither mentioning her fear again.

When finished with their lunch Harry walked around the clearing, watching the Pokémon in the forest, while Misty finished clearing up from their meal. While walking he looked at the Pokémon running through the forest seeing if there were any that he wanted to catch, unfortunately all he could find was Pidgeys and a group of Caterpie's that appeared to be a family because of this he decided not to catch them so they would not be separated. Deciding to give up with searching for Pokémon Harry was about to go back to Misty, and help her finish packing up their supplies, but stopped when he heard a splashing coming from the river that they had stopped by. Looking over Harry was able to see a white horn poking out from the river, seeing this Harry decided to see what the Pokémon was as it wasn't one that he recognised.

Walking closer Harry saw that the Pokémon was starting to rise out of the water and he could now see its head which was white like the horn with two teeth protruding from its mouth and a tongue hanging out. Pulling out his Pokédex Harry pointed it towards this new Pokémon. "Seel. The protruding horn on its head is very hard. It is used for bashing through thick ice." Hearing this Harry looked up with a smile, seeing an opportunity to add a water type to his team. Slowly approaching Harry lent down to pet the Seel and slowly stroked around the horn on its head.

Making a noise of happiness the Seel left the water and slowly rubbed its face up against his leg, smiling happily Harry continued to stroke Seels head and once he was finished he crouched down fully next to his new friend and slowly spoke "Seel, how would you like to come with me on my journey? You'll get to travel and I'll help you become as strong as you can be."

Seel looked up at Harry with what seemed to be confusion before seeming to smile and happily proclaimed its name while jumping in place. Harry smiled and pulled out a Pokéball and tapped it to the top of Seels horn. He watched happily as Seel was turned into red light and sucked into the Pokéball, it then shook for a while before it fell still with a ding signalling a successful capture. Smiling at this Harry then sent Seel back out, who then smiled with joy of gaining a trainer. He then resumed stroking around Seels horn and while doing so noticed that his newest Pokémon was a girl. "Seel, how would you feel about having a name?" Seel then smiled at him again and happily proclaimed its name once again. Taking this as obvious agreement, Harry paused to think about what would be a suitable name for his newest friend and thought back to what his Pokédex had told him about Seel and their evolution into Dewgong. Remembering once he evolved she would be part ice type Harry finally decided on a name. "How about Khione, she was a beautiful goddess who had control over snow?" Seel nodded approving of her new name.

Harry was about to return Seel to her Pokéball when he heard another scream from behind him, sighing amusedly Harry turned expecting to see Misty running from another bug Pokémon, but instead he saw Misty being confronted by Team Rocket. Misty in panic ran over to Harry to stand next to him to face off against them. Before anything could be said Team Rocket did as they had last time and once again started to sing their motto.

"Prepare for trouble!"

"Make it double!"

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"

"Meowth! That's right!"

Once again Harry and Misty stared at the duo in confusion wondering why they sang this each time they showed up. Jessie then spoke up "Hand over your Growlithe now, we need it to give to the boss. That last attack was much stronger than usual for its type. So hand it over."

Harry glared in response to her words and snapped back "There's no way I'm giving you Vulcan, he's my friend and you're not having him." Next to him Misty pulled out a Pokéball and released Staryu. Across the clearing Jessie and James once again released Koffing and Ekans. While this happened Harry turned to Khione and urged her forward into battle.

"Seel use Icy Wind!" Seel leapt into the battle and shot a blast of cold air at both Koffing and Ekans causing them to have ice form on their bodies making them move more slowly.

Capitalising on this Misty joined into the battle. "Staryu use Rapid Spin." Staryu hearing the command then spun through the air towards the two frozen Pokémon knocking them back into their trainers.

Seeing an opportunity Harry tried to think of a way in which he could end this fight before they lost their advantage. And felt the same energy as he had in his fight with Vulcan in the Pokémon centre and focused it towards Khione and shouted. "Khione use Water Gun." Khione glowing with an unknown power show off a Water Gun towards their opponents that was easily the size of a Hydro Pump.

Seeing this Team Rockets eyes widened just before the attack struck the group causing them to be thrown up into the air with a cry of "Team Rockets blasting off again!"

Happy with their fight Harry and Misty congratulated their Pokémon before returning them and finishing the packing of their belongings and then they left their clearing and into unknown adventures.
