"It's still puzzling, to say the least, but it appears as if young Sora may not be alone in his absolute individual state," Yen Sid began to explain.
"What do you mean?" Mickey asked.
"The data that Riku game to me were studies of the heart that were recorded when Sora was taking his yearlong slumber, and his heart, in it's own way, appears as if hearts is housing others well."
"So the three other individuals that I talked to when I dove into Sora's heart," Riku said, "Actually live there."
"Precisely."
"Riku, did you recognize any of the people while you were in there?" Mickey asked.
"Well, one of them was Sora's Nobody-" Lea suddenly gasped when he heard this.
"You mean Roxas?"
"Yes."
"Well I'll be..." Lea began to wonder if it was possible that he might see his old friend again. Somehow.
"I never met the other two, though."
"I wonder who they could be?" Mickey asked.
"There's no way of telling until we can unlock his heart and receive those who live there," Yen Sid answered.
"How do we do that?" Kairi asked.
"By making the Key to Return Hearts."
"What is that?" Riku asked.
"When you became possessed by the Seeker of Darkness, you were able to wield a Keyblade that has the power to unlock hearts, this being because they were made of the hearts of the other princesses. Because the keyblade remained incomplete, however (as Kairi's heart took shelter from inside Sora), Sora's own heart was released when he set Kairi free."
Riku closed his eyes and shook his head. He hated thinking back to the time when Xehanort's heartless controlled him, and how he allowed his head to become weak. How he was so easily manipulated. "What should we do?"
"If we can gather all seven princesses of heart here, we should be able to form the Key to Return Hearts. Only a true Keyblade Master has the power to unlock hearts without damaging them, and seeing as we have the two of you," Yen Sid said referring to Mickey and Riku, "we may finally be able to solve the mystery as to who is living within Sora. It may be some of whom we are looking for."
"So you want us to go and retrieve the other Princesses?" Mickey asked. Yen Sid looked straight ahead, and he was silent for a few moments.
"No. I want you to," he said, nodding towards Kairi.
"M-me?!" she replied, shocked.
"Yes. You and Lea shall travel together and bring the princesses here. Being a Princess of Heart yourself, it is only right that this becomes your first official mission as a keyblade wielder. Not is it the only way we can rescue those trapped within Sora, but it is also the best way to open the door of darkness. I believe one of our missing keyblade master's maybe trapped within it's dark depths."
"To bad my dark powers of worn off," Lea said, knowing he could no longer travel within dark corridors himself, "As long as she doesn't try to kill me as we travel."
"If you die, it will be of your own clumsy doing," Riku joked.
"Hey! Not cool!"
"Riku and Mickey, I want you to travel between worlds. See if Xehanort's allies and Maleficents heartless are causing chaos, and report back your findings. Seal the world's data as you go."
"Kairi, be careful," Riku told Kairi.
"I learned from the best," she answered back. Riku nodded in thanks.
"And if you let anything happen to her-!" Riku said to Lea.
"Relax, I got this whole hero thing down."
"Be sure to exercise all caution," Yen Sid said as a word of warning, "I have no doubt that Xehanort will attempt to stop our plans in its tracks. If he were to simply gather the princesses and fight them, he would have little chance of failing. But by fighting the seven guardians of light in its stead, it would become more difficult for him to reach his coveted prize."
"The X-blade," Mickey mumbled.
Yen Sid nodded. "Keep your eyes open from here on out."
Sorry this was such a short chapter. I did this for pacing reasons because the next chapter introduces the first new world. From here on out, they will become longer. Points of view will rotate between Sora Donald Goofy, Riku Mickey, and Kairi Lea. Stay tuned :)
