Chapter 4: The Six DigiDestined
"Alright, clearly someone sent that beast to attack us. Any ideas on who?" Simon asked still examining the ocean. Everyone else, with little knowledge of what goes on in the Digital World, all turned to Alvin, who was in awe at the two Angel Digimon.
"You guys are awesome! The way you came in and made sushi out of MegaSeadramon…WOW! If you don't mind…sign my D-Tector?" The little warrior was in a whole new world, figuratively speaking.
"Alvin!"
"What?!"
"An explanation, please? Who do you think could have sent MegaSeadramon to attack us?"
"How should I know? Now if you excuse me," turning back around, Angemon and Angewomon were no longer in sight, but in their places are two smaller Digimon. "Aw man!" To the right was an orange mammalian Digimon with large ears. On the left was a white cat-like Digimon with large paws and a ring on its tail.
Patamon: This Digimon is capable of flight by using its wing-like ears. It attacks by firing a compressed ball of air known as Boom Bubble.
Gatomon: This cat is no household pet. Her Cat's Eye Hypnotism can immobilize foes and then she finishes them with her Lightning Paw.
"What's going on here, Alvin?" asked Theodore walking up to his partner. At this point, they all needed answers, especially after spending a week in the Digital World with no sort of guidance.
"Ugh, fine. Everyone gather 'round." Making a circle, everyone faced Alvin in order to get a grasp of the situation.
"As you all are aware, we're in the Digital World, and as I told Brittany before, this world is parallel from our own. Everything here, including us, is composed of data from our world. However, we aren't immortal or invulnerable. For simplicity's sake, I'll leave it at that. Coming here was no accident either. We were all chosen to help restore balance to this world."
"DigiDestined…"
"Correct, oh blue brother of mine. Personally, I prefer the term Chosen Children…but I digress. The fact that we're in this world means the balance between good and evil is out of whack. As for who is causing it, I haven't the slightest idea. We'll just have to wait and see." Everyone seemed to be processing this new information, but Eleanor was still a little confused on something.
"Hold on. Theodore, Jeanette, Simon, and I all have Digimon partners, but you and Brittany can become Digimon yourselves. How is that possible?"
"With these," Alvin said with him and Brittany brandishing their D-Tectors, "Using the Spirit of Flame, I can become the Legendary Warrior of Flame, Agunimon."
"And I become Kazemon, the Legendary Warrior of Wind, using the Spirit of Wind, of course."
"Wait. Our Digivices look different from yours," Jeanette responded while holding out her Data Link Digivice. Simon and everyone else did the same thing. Theodore and Eleanor had different models from everyone else too. Theodore's was green with white grips, while Eleanor had one with a pink body and white grips as well. This is something Alvin couldn't wrap his head around.
Why would they give us three sets of different Digivices? Is the threat to this world really that big?
"Well, we'll never get any closer to finding answers sitting around here," Simon interjected.
"My thoughts exactly, bro. So who's ready for a little adventure?" Breaking his train of thought, Alvin was ready to get on the move again.
"Hold up, hold up, hold up. We just got to this beach. I don't wanna spend another week dodging branches and jumping over roots," Brittany angrily protested.
"Suit yourself, if you wanna fend off herds of Seadramon and other vicious Digimon on your own, be my guest, brave Warrior of Wind. Everyone else, let's go save the world!" It wasn't hard to convince the others to go along, especially given that fight they all just got out of. Brittany simply stood there for a few seconds before finally giving in.
"Oh, wait for me!"
2 Hours Later
"Alvin, where are you 'leading' us?" Instead of actually formulating a plan of travel, the entire group just followed the young chipmunk's lead. However, after hours of trees, trees, or more trees, it was time for answers.
"Our fight with MegaSeadramon got me thinking. He was an Ultimate level Digimon and the only Ultimate level Digimon in our group is Gatomon when she becomes Angewomon. As powerful as she is, we can't only rely on her to defeat other Ultimate Digimon. Who knows when Gaomon, Lalamon, and Patamon will digivolve further, so here's the solution: Brittany and I will need to find our Beast Spirits."
"Our beast what?"
"Beast Spirits. Right now, what we use to Spirit Evolve into Agunimon and Kazemon are Human Spirits. Their power is roughly similar to a Champion level Digimon. Beast Spirits are the other halves of our power as Legendary Warriors. They're a lot harder to control, but the power they give will help us take on Ultimate Digimon." Though tired, this garnered their full attention.
"And do you know where these Spirits are?" As an intellectual, Simon was especially curious about them, and the Digital World as a whole. There are just some many aspects of this world that he'd love to explore.
"Yeeeaa-no. Not a clue. I just figure we keep walking until something happens." Some much for that plan…
"So what you're saying is, we're lost," Eleanor added.
"Not lost. Just going where the wind takes us."
"Remember the last time the wind took you somewhere?" Brittany was just as irritated as everyone else if not more and she wasn't afraid to apply force if need be.
"Please don't, Brit. I'm still healing," he said rubbing his still sore area.
"Then get us out of this forest! I thought we were done with nature years ago!"
"Ugh! Fine. Killjoys..." Alvin murmured.
At this point, he pulled out his D-Tector, pointed it to the group and pressed a button. The device then produced a sort of spherical map with a dot at some point indicating something is there.
"If you look at this, you'll see that one of our Beast Spirits is located right here," he explained pointing to where the pip was positioned. Yet, the group didn't look too pleased.
"You've had that all along…and only just now decided to use it?" Simon asked clearly ready to pounce on Alvin. The same could be said for everyone.
"Yep."
"Alvin, according to the map, the spirit is located in the opposite direction from where we've been walking, back towards the beach," Jeanette pointed out.
"Come on, people. Where's the fun in using a map? Where's you guys' sense of adventure?" They were not amused. "Guys?"
"Gaomon…"
"Lalamon…"
"Patamon…"
"Gatomon…"
"Execute…"
"Time to run…AHHHH!"
How was that? Worth the wait? I hope so. Read. Review. Or not, it's up to you (#bars). Things are looking juicy for future chapters. I don't wanna ruin the surprise so you'll just have to wait and see. Ciao!
