( Another chapter that had come into my mind, just going on with the story. Filled with many more events to come and a life at a school that teaches how to kill. Man, that is rough isn't it? Anyway, Reviews and comments are Welcomed, if you like the story so far!)
...
I looked around the carrier ship that was soaring through the air; this was the transport to the school that many loved to be accepted too. Beacon Academy was said to be the best in the business of future hunters and around this vessel many of the best students from all over vale were chosen to attend. They all looked so...pure, they all worked for their admittance and held up high standards for themselves.
I would like to believe that my skills had earned me a place at beacon, but I was still very doubtful of that. It was said that my family name had something to do with it, but what could be the meaning of that? Maybe it was all a trap to lure me in? I decided to go with the flow of how my life would be changing very soon, when the news had come on a screen within the ship.
Vale News was always raving on about the Faunus civil rights protest, always looking for some sort of scoop. I only chuckled at the new piece that they had started to broadcast on the channel: it was about my dear old boss. The Nefarious Criminal Roman Torchwick, how he had eluded the cops again and blab, blab, blab! He was always in the limelight, hell if he wasn't such a badass. I would have never followed him, plus if he heard me now...I would get a swift raw full stomp!
The mere idea gave me chills down my spine, as I decided to just walk away to do something else. That was when the news of a masked man had caught my attention, where I had rushed over to the crowd that was forming about the new face masked face of crime. They were speaking of me? Who would care about me anyway!?
"This is Lisa Lavender here with the shop owner of Dust till Dawn. Today he had decided to speak about the second robbery that had taken place, ten minutes after the first one. So please tell us, how does it feel to get robbed twice in one night?" She spoke like any reporter would, straight to the point of this segment.
The old man I had given some advice and spared his life was talking about me?
"He was much different from the others, a fellow with a sense of moral for others. Sure he robbed me, but he spoke to me about not losing my hope. In this world there is good and bad, but each side has a story." The old man spoke with respect.
I felt an emotion that I hadn't felt in a long time: Pride.
"That's really deep, a villain portrayed as someone with a heart. I could never believe such a thing existed, until now. So, is that all you have to say?"
"Aside from his words to me, he had walked out the door and defeated most of the cops single-handedly. I have footage from my security camera that I can show of the battle."
I smiled to myself, as the news was running my fight with Jack Ripper. The man was truly a demon in his line of work, but I was able to defeat him for now. Still that didn't matter now, I finally have my spot light! Instead of being referred to as a henchman, I was considered a villain! A larger crowd had gathered around the footage as, for the moment, they were in awe of the way the man had fought without fear, but soon enough they were talking about that they could take me with one arm behind their back.
I only smirked darkly in the background at the idea; I would love to see them try to take me. Yet, I could be full of myself after watching myself on the news. Roman always said that would always be the downfall of people, which I took all his words to heart. So maybe he was right...so I will just let this slide for now and decided to get away from the crowd.
The trash can was the most suitable site; it was quiet and no one likes to come over here. The intercom within the ship had gone off, informing us that they would be docking soon, so it was only a matter of time before I could start my new life at Beacon. That was when I noticed that someone was coming towards me, rather quickly at that. It put me on edge as what he wanted from me; maybe he knew something about me?
The guy had blonde hair, wore plain battle armor and looked like one of those pretty boys. He was starting to sway around, which put me on guard like it was some sort of battle place. I decided to get in his way, to protect myself for when but it was far worse. I had just committed suicide in front of the new class...I am screwed!
Instead of blowing his chunks into the trashcan, he had missed because of me. The blonde had vomited on my grey hoodie, the smell and color green liquid. Had started to drip from my clothing and people had started to stare at us. Soon enough, a crowd was around us and started to laugh at us. I clenched my hand into a fist, trying to calm down but the blonde only made it worse by trying to help me.
The moment he stepped forward, his foot had slipped on a puddle of his own vomit. Knocking the both of us on the ground, him over me and I never liked being on the bottom. The crowd only laughed some more and I felt that I would massacre the class at this very moment. Despite my internal anger, the crowd soon left as we finally docked at Beacon. Once they all left, I pushed the guy from me and pinched my forehead out of frustration.
My new life was just ruined before I even made it to the school. The blonde had picked himself up and looked over to me with my eyes blaming...methodically of course. He only cowered but shook his head, coughing a few times to get the courage to speak.
"I am so sorry about that, bro!" The blonde said rather loudly.
I only waited for more from him, but we fell into an awkward silence. Nothing had come from him and I decided that I would let him have it. I opened my mouth to give him a scathing attack, but then Roman's words came to mind: I was undercover.
"It's totally alright. It was my fault for not getting out-of-the-way." I responded calmly.
The blond was shocked at my response, probably expecting me to go off on him (which I should have), and he gave a sigh of relief.
"That's great! I was expecting to get beat up or something. My name is Jaune Arc by the way." He said with a smile.
"That's a cool name. I'm Alex Starcrest. It's nice to meet you, but if this is how you make friends, I dread to think of the way you make enemies." I chuckled at my own words.
He only followed my lead, as we both left the ship with smiles on our faces. Despite what had happened, this was how it felt like to make real friends? I'm really going to regret making more friends in the future, aren't I?
"So Jaune, what brings you to Beacon?" I asked trying to start a conversion.
"Oh you know, all the pretty women waiting to be taken by moi." He said confidently.
"Really? I would have never guessed at all."
"Oh yes, wait till I get on them. They won't know what hit them at all..well I hope."
"You're a pretty interesting guy, maybe I co…" I tried say to him, but the sound of an explosion that had erupted near the bridge stopped me.
I only looked around and Jaune had done the same, expect a bit more timid. Then went back to normal, he spotted two girls in the center. A small girl who looked young to be attending beacon and the other had white hair. It didn't take much for Jaune to be distracted and cleaned himself off with a smile on his face.
"Well my friend, it seems that I have an opening to speak to a girl. I'll see you around then." He said quickly, before walking ahead of me without even my response back to him.
I only rolled my eyes and decided to leave to a more secluded area to make a call. I had to check in with the boss; there wasn't any place to hide at the moment. So I decided to walk into the dense trees around the academy, just to make the simple call.
Finding a safe place, I had pulled out my phone and started to dial the number. The sound of ringing was the only thing had could be heard for about a mile, before someone had finally decided to pick up the phone.
"Alex, such a pleasant surprise. How is your first day, good I hope?" Roman had spoken the second he picked up the phone.
"It's been fine. I just got vomited on." I said disgustedly
"Splendid! So you made a friend already, a little different from how I make mine...but it must work for you." He said in a smartass tone.
"So now do I just go to class?"
"That's basically it, just blend in for me. That's all I ask of you, alright?"
"Yes, I understand."
"Good boy, now I'll call you back the moment something comes up. Ciao."
The phone had hung up and I only sighed as I thought about my assignment. How long would it take for Roman to call him? Really it shouldn't matter because whatever he plans, will always take the utmost planning to ensure success. When I decided to get out of the woods, the sound of a few guys laughing could be heard further in the woods.
I could leave now? Yet, the curiosity of a cat had gotten in the way of my judgment. So I left my place, looking for the source of the laughter. It was a matter of time, before a group of guys were ganging up around someone on the ground. They were kicking at him, calling him names and just watching with smiles on their faces.
I could have stopped them now, but it would only lead to a brawl. Plus, it would only look bad on my clean record. I waited for them to stop, after a few minutes a guy clad in armor and orange hair had called off his dogs. They left, not even bothering to pick up the guy on the ground. I decided to wait for them to leave so I could check up on him. When they finally left the area, I sprang into action.
Walking over to the guy, he was curled up into a ball to protect himself. It was a smart decision, and I wondered if he was still alive.
"Hey, are you alright?"
The guy only stood up from the ground in a flash, he looked at me from under his dark hood.
"Another one? Do you also want to beat me up?" He spoke in a European accent.
"I just wanted to check if you're alright," I responded, taking some slight interest. "Are you?"
"Yes. As you can tell, I'm still living and breathing. Can you just go now? Please?"
"I don't think you are. What's your problem?"
"You're my problem."
He tried to push past me with force, but ended up falling back into me. I supported his weight and placed his arm around my neck. I got a better look at his face and understood why they had beaten him. He was a Faunus with wolf features, namely with the black ears. He was about 6'3", making him taller than me.
He noticed me staring and looked away, trying to push off of me to escape. Of course, I didn't let him out of my grasp.
"Honestly, you're acting all high and mighty." I tried to joke around with him.
"Get away from me! You know what I am." He retorted defensively
"Does it look like I give a damn who I hang out with?"
The young half-wolf only stayed quiet at the comment, while I started to walk towards the school.
"Look, I don't care if you rot in the woods, but I do care to reach academy before orientation starts. So you can either drop to the floor like a wimp, or tough it out with me. Your choice. "
He didn't say anything for a few minutes, before he started to walk with me. It was such a drag being the nice guy - always trying to do the good thing. Yet, they could do so much better without caring for people...was that really the only way to get ahead in life?
"What's your name?" The half-wolf asked to me.
"It's Alex Starcrest and don't you forget it." I introduced myself excitedly.
"Alex Starcrest? It's a pleasure to meet you."
"What about you? Does the hooded stranger have a name?" I nudged him as I tried to get him to answer me.
"Lucas Wolfgang"
"You're not from here are you?"
"You could say that, but we must hurry if we wish to make it on time."
I nodded to him and we both tried to reach the academy before anything else would get in the way. When we reached the academy, the size of the building was just beyond comparison to anything I've seen in my life. It was probably time to enter the academy, but everyone was mingling around. So maybe nothing major was going on at all. We traveled deeper into the school and were confronted by a man with a cane. He was looking at the both of us with a ghostly expression on his face.
I knew him from the information, Roman had ready for me to read over the other night. This man was the headmaster of the academy; Ozpin had stopped right in front of us. A few people saw the exchange and wondered what was about to happen. I stared at the man with an expression of discomfort and expected him to kick us out of the academy then and there.
"You two come with me, and be quick about it." He ordered sternly.
It had been a very bad day so far, made two friends. One had vomited on my hoodie and the other was beaten up in the woods left to suffer. Now the headmaster of the school had told us to go with him. What else could possible go wrong!
"Hey look, it's Barf bag." A girl with red hair called out from the crowd.
I hate my new life, I though bitterly as I followed Ozpin to his office.
