Yo guys! Omg! 85 follows and 50 favs in only 3 chapters!
this is amazing! a digital cookie for everyone!
Let's make it to 100 next time ne? xD
Q/A time!

thor94: Yes Naruto will be mostly dark in elemental term, he won't really kill innocent people (at least maybe not yet?) because the people he kills (defected ninjas gone bad) and/or wants to kill (villagers of Konoha who have all done something bad to him) aren't without a reason. But maybe, who knows? we'll have to see when we get there, *conspirational wink*

Guest:
I don't really get it... I've warned that it would be a tom riddle x naruto uzumaki story. so ehh... I'm not going to go any deeper in this.

mr (guest):
He will be training yes, you'll see in this chapter, but it won't get into many detail just yet, I'll do that in a later chapter. (mostly cause I'm lazy and have been working on this the whole day) .and meeting other creatures? yes, but which? well, I'm not going to spoil you, where would be the fun in that? and thank you for your continued support ! :3

That would be it for the Q/A for now, but to all the other reviewers, Thank you! I love reading them and it always makes my day when I get a review.
Thank you all for you support on this and I hope that this chapter will be any good xD

Summary: Finally discovering his true origin, Naruto sets on a journey in the mythical world of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Mythical creatures, strange objects and flying broomsticks. The wizarding world would have to watch out as the blond menace caught the attention of one rising dark lord.

Pairings: Tom Riddle x Naruto Uzumaki

Warnings: Yaoi meaning: Male/Male, swearing, violence, murder, probably smut, OOC-ness and craziness

For the people who are going to flame me for writing a yaoi-story, there's an exit button. Don't read it if you don't like yaoi, it's your own choice. But don't go spitting bull over reviews or private messages, 'cause I warned you. I will say it again if it still hasn't sunk into your thick skull that this is going to be a Yaoi.
criticism is appreciated, but flames will be used to barbeque my steak yum.

Disclaimer: I own neither Naruto nor Harry Potter, they belong to their rightful owners.

I only own this story and it's plotline! Don't go stealing my story or it's ideas, that is plagiarism!
You have been warned.

Beta: Un-beta-ed (It's vacation and I don't want to bother my friend Carmentis)

Chapter 3 Surviving the snake pit

After dinner, where Naruto gained some very disgusted and/or looks of awe from his fellow wizards for eating so much and so fast in a record time, were they escorted from the dining hall into the dungeons of the school where, apparently, is where the Slytherin house resided.

"- and you should all remember the password given, which will change weekly. Otherwise you can't enter the Slytherin common room, where you'll have to see for yourself how to get the password again," a boy, a couple of years older than the rest of them, one of the 'prefects' (as they called themselves) droned on as they reached a wall where one of those moving portraits hung on the wall. A man of around early sixty? Seventy? Draped in an all black cloak and a shining silver locket hung around his neck. The man stood with a rigid posture and stared down at all the children gathered in front of his portrait. "Purity," one of the two prefects, a girl, said to the silent portrait. The portrait said nothing as it slowly moved out of the way. The first years walked with an excited step through the portrait hole into the common room. As Naruto walked past the silent portrait, the man observing him, he stopped and looked at the silver tag at the bottom.

'Salazar Slytherin, founder of Hogwarts' it said. He looked up at the portrait, inclined his head in a polite way and continued on moving inside the common room where the other first years were already gathered around the two older wizards.

The fifth year prefect boy stepped up a little and looked down on the small first years, "Here in Slytherin, it works a little differently from the other houses," he looked over every face, making sure he got their attention. As his gaze settled onto the indifferent looking blond (which was currently obscured by a cloak), did his eyes narrow slightly. "We have certain rules set up which you will have to abide to, and if you don't… well I guess you'll have to find out, no?"

"The most important one though," here the girl stepped up in front of the crowding first years. "What happens in this common room, stays in this common room. If you have a fight between yourself and another Slytherin, keep it in here. Don't shame the Slytherin name by lowering yourself in acting as a Gryffindor."

Naruto had to hold back a snort as some first years nodded their head frantically. Most though had more dignity in nodding their assent.
"Do you have something to say, first year?" a boy, probably a fifth year like the prefects, stood up from his seat on the couch around the fire. As he walked up to the hooded blond, three others following him from where they were seated as some sort of bodyguards trying to intimidate the much smaller first year. How pathetic.

The prefects stepped aside, letting the boy through. As the burly fifth year, because really? He was very tall and muscled, how cliché, stopped in front of him he grabbed the blond cloak and held him up. Naruto raised an unimpressed eyebrow at the violent display. He'd thought that a wizard would've used more brains than that. I mean, why not hex him? He's a first year, obviously not knowing as much about magic as the older teen. The corners of his mouth twitched slightly, well, for a normal wizard at least. His face blank as the older boy holding him up yanked the hood from his head, Naruto gripped his wand that is hidden up the sleeve from his cloak and waited for the perfect time to practice one of the curses he'd read through the previous day.

It would seem that it was unnecessary.

"Let him go," a cold voice said from behind the burly fifth year. Tom stood, wand raised and steely eyes narrowed into angry slits. Naruto raised an eyebrow at his 'savior'. That, was something he didn't expect. At all.

The fifth year let go of Naruto's cloak, turning around to face the dark haired first year. As Naruto landed softly on the ground, head tilted to the side in obvious thought, he kept his wand at the ready if Riddle needed any assistance. Not that he thought the other boy would need any, really. He was actually more concerned for the older boy who was probably coming face to face with his imminent death. He would be sorely missed.

The guy barked an ugly laugh, making his lackeys laugh with him. Crouching down until he was eyelevel with Tom, who hadn't moved a single muscle, he gave the smaller boy a sneer. "And what does a pipsqueak like you think he could do against me?" here he gave another bark of laughter, grabbing his wand from the holster around his hip. "I can crush you any minute, you know that?"

Tom only smirked at the other, eyes shadowed by his wavy bangs falling in front of them. "I'd like to see you try."

Face contorting in anger the fifth year lashed out his wand and shot a dark curse at Tom.
Tom sprung to life in that instance, jumping out of the way of the impeding magic, he raised his own wand and shot his own magic at his opponent. The difference though, was that it wasn't really a spell. No, it was purely Toms own magic, with an intent to hurt the other fueling it. The fifth year, not having anticipated that Tom would dodge and fire back at him, got hit squarely in the chest where he thereafter collapsed on the floor writhing in obvious pain.

Everyone stared on in shock at what was happening in these few instances. Two of the three lackeys of the older Slytherin whipped their wands out and aimed it at Tom. The third one walked around the masses, trying inconspicuously to get behind the first year. Naruto, having done nothing but observe mostly from the side-lines stepped in front of Tom, who was still busy holding the fifth year down, and held up his wand.

Time to show them not to mess with me, Naruto gave a feral grin.

Seeing the incoming curses heading his way, he waved his unoccupied hand and blast them the other way. The casters, having to jump out of the way of their own spells never saw the spell following right after. They didn't stand a chance.

One of the two lackey got hit by the curse Naruto shot and got immediately covered in painful looking boils. The guy shrieked and dropped his wand in surprise and pain.

Naruto seeing that raised his wand at it and whispered a soft "Accio wand," and the boys wand flew into his awaiting hand. Quickly pocketing the extra wand in a hidden pocket, he jumped out of the way of an impending confringo. The poor stool it hit exploded in flames, leaving only a scorch mark on the ground and some burning wood.

While still sidestepping the spells fired at him, Naruto shot a quick expelliarmus. The wand of the other flew out of his hand, seeing that the older boy jumped after it. But before he could grab a hold of the wood Naruto quickly accio'd it towards himself and shot an Incarcerous at the boy lying on the ground. The ropes winded tightly around the boy and incapacitated him from any further movement.

Putting his wand away, Naruto surveyed the damage done. scorch marks and some burning wood littered the walls and grounds. Tables were flipped over and left the once tidy common room in a gigantic mess.

He looked towards where Tom was and saw him petrify the third lackey who fell stiff to the ground. All the bystanders were immobile as the fight was over, not daring to break the tense silence.

Tom glanced over to the blond, letting his slate eyes fall on the incapacitated forms of the older Slytherins behind him and back up to the blond standing with his arms crossed and a bored look on his face. A sly smirk slowly crept on his face as he examined the damage done by his fellow housemate. It seems that he is not the only one with some tricks up his sleeve.

Though what he didn't understand was why did he help the blond? That was something he, himself couldn't quite grasp the concept of. And he hated not knowing things. And the blond in front of him certainly was an enigma. A puzzle. One that he would love to piece together, even if it took him years to accomplish it. After all he was Tom Marvolo Riddle. An orphan and a wizard. But most of all he was a genius, and what he wants he will get. And what he wants now is the secrets of the blond wizard bared for him to see.

It wasn't until the portrait hole opened and the perky professor Slughorn came inside, coming to a shocked halt at seeing the state the common room was in that time seemed to move again.
"W-what happened here?!" the professor seemed so shocked that he had lost his composure and stood gaping at the sight in front of him.

Tom stepping up gave the man a small charming smile and bowed a little.
"It seems that there was a small accident with a misplaced spell sir," here Tom indicated at the burn marks on the walls and floor. "Someone pronounced a spell wrong which he wanted to show us first years and a small explosion happened."

"Well…"

"It's true, sir." Abraxas Malfoy stepped up from his place in the crowds and came to stand beside Tom. Steel eyes regarded him for a second before returning to the professor standing in front of him.

Horace Slughorn looked uncertain for a second before deflating and giving in to what was being told. Never mind the tied up and beaten fifth years in the middle of the room.
"Well alright, but next time don't do such reckless spells in the common room. Wouldn't want to make any lasting damage now would we?" Professor Slughorn grabbed his wand and cast a quick reparo around the room and liberacorpus'd the four unconscious boys out the room towards the infirmary.

As the professor left, there was a silent understanding within all of the Slytherins. As one they turned towards Tom, Abraxas still at his side, and as one they understood that the Slytherin hierarchy had been reformed. But this time with Tom Riddle at the top.

And Naruto, as all this happened stood to the side in a dark corner, obscured by shadows which seemed to dance around him, smiled at what was happening. Because really, he certainly didn't anticipate this outcome. It certainly went a lot faster than he had thought would happen.

It was late at night and all of the other first-years were fast asleep in their four-poster beds. Naruto was wide-awake and waiting for the right moment to leave. Because there was only one other still awake in the Slytherin first-year boys-dorm room, and that was a certain brown-haired, slate-eyed boy.

"Shouldn't you be asleep," Naruto looked up from his book, which he decided to read since he'd have to wait for the others to fall asleep before scouting all of Hogwarts' grounds. Locking eyes with steel he gave the boy a small smile and inclined his head.

"I could say the same about you,"

Tom scowled and frowned slightly at the other.
"What are you reading?"

Naruto raised his eyebrow, surprised at the sudden turn this conversation was heading. But as he thought it over he suddenly understood what Tom tried to gain from him. Smirking slightly, he looked back down at his book and continued to read.
"You won't find any secrets about me by questioning me like this," Tom scowled at the blond, crossing his arms and glaring at the face hidden behind the thick cover of the book. If looks could kill…
"I'm not a normal person as you may already have found out. Far from normal really. So spare yourself the effort and go to sleep, you won't discover anything."

It was silent for a while, before the soft spoken words of Tom filled the empty silence again.
"It wouldn't be fun if it would be so easy, now would it?" After that was said, Tom closed the green hangings around his bed and promptly shut Naruto out.

"Heh," Naruto gave a feral grin, eyes glowing a bloody red. "I can't wait."

It wasn't until midnight that Naruto was certain everyone was sound asleep. He softly closed the book which he had finished about twenty minutes ago, and stepped out of his bed. Yuki lay on his pillow, fast asleep. Closing the emerald green curtains, and placing a sticking charm (which he'd read about earlier) to it did he finally set to the task to get some 'exploring' done.

The halls were dark, but Naruto didn't have any difficulty in looking through the darkness. It wasn't until he stood in a hallway without any portraits that he finally brought his hands together to form a seal. A split second later the hallway was flooded by identical looking blonds. Normally a puff of smoke was created by the use of kage-bunshin, but Naruto had trained his chakra control, almost brutally, until he was able to do things others weren't capable of. It wasn't an easy task. He'd ended up in the hospital with chakra depletion enough times that most medic-nin working at the hospital didn't look up anymore. Not that they ever helped him to begin with… but that's beside the point.

He looked them all over, before he gave a small tilt of his lips. He addressed the first twenty clones in front of him. "You know what to do," the masses of blond heads nodded and sprang into action, set out to explore the castle. Next he turned to the next twenty clones, "Find the library and read as much as you can on what you find interesting. Be sure to place everything back in order once the sun rises. We don't want anyone to be suspicious now, would we?" The clones snickered before setting out on their task and disappearing like a shadow.

"And you," here he addressed the remaining twenty clones. "You are coming with me to explore the surrounding grounds and a place to train."

As Naruto excited the castle and headed towards the forbidden forest, which headmaster Dippet told them was strictly forbidden for students, did he finally let his excitement take over. He was almost bouncing with joy, and that was something Naruto has never, ever, done in his life before. It wasn't until he came in a clearing somewhere in the middle of the forest with a full moon illuminating his surroundings, giving it an eerie, but still beautiful, silvery glow. A small lake sparkled, frogs and other such amphibians hidden beneath the water. A howl was heard in the distance, not far from his place but still far enough to not be smelt by whatever it was. The rustling of the leaves as the wind picked up, making small rustling noises.

Naruto felt completely at ease.

Sitting down in the middle of a patch of dry dirt, did he take a deep breath and felt himself starting to relax. A clone was hidden amongst the bushes, keeping watch of any sort of danger heading his way while the other clones continued scouting their surroundings.

As Naruto cleared his head he received snippets of what his clones have found up until now, a book about blood-magic in the restricted section of the library, the way to the headmasters office, a secret room which would appear if you walk past it three times filled with a loud of stuff. A girls-bathroom where there is a secret passageway which they can't seem to open yet (he'd have to take a look at that one later.) A werewolf roaming in the forest. Hm.. so far so good.

Shutting all the 'memories' out, Naruto relaxed and slowly slipped into his own conscience.
Opening his eyes, he was met with the familiar surroundings of his own mind.
Walking through the dark hall, he grinned. It's been a while since he last visited his old.. 'friend'.

"Kurama!" The yell echoed in the spacey room, reverberating down the various halls leading in different ways. A loud snort was his response before two ruby red eyes blinked open and looked down at the blond smiling innocently up at the owner. "Brat."

Naruto's grin only widened more.

"It's been a while, ne, Ku-ra-ma-chan?"

The giant fox glared down at the infuriatingly annoying pipsqueak at the bottom of his bars. Those annoying things getting in the way of letting him squash the annoying git. He grumbled angrily under his breath.

"What are you doing here, brat."

"Now, now, is that a way to speak to your host?"

Naruto managed to jump back in time to avoid the giant claw from impaling him through the chest.
"Hm. It seems we also have to work on your temper." Naruto nodded his head at his own comment, obviously pleased with riling up the giant fox.

Kurama growled, black lips drawn back to show sharp canines as big as a full grown man. "I'm not here of my own free will and you know it. Now tell me what you want before I'll rip you to pieces."

Naruto clicked his tongue at that, shaking his head in feigned exasperation. "No, no, there's no need to lie now," he chastised the fox wiggling a finger in front of the beasts snout. "We both know that you can't get out of there without my help, let stand 'ripping me to pieces' as you so eloquently put it."

The fox's scowl deepened but he remained silent, knowing full well he wouldn't win this argument against the blond.

Eventually the blonds expression turned serious again, and Kurama set a little straighter. Knowing that the blond would get to the point and just tell what he was here for. After all, why dancing around the facts when you're dealing with an ancient old kitsune? Unnecessary, and they both knew it.

"I found a kitsune-kit."

If Kurama had any eyebrows to raise, they would be up in his hairline. Alas, he didn't so he just widened his eyes a little.
"Did you, now?"

"Yes," Naruto said, flopping down on the ground with a grace only he had. "And apparently I am their king."

Kurama barked out a laugh, making the bars and ground rattle a little. "Yes, I suppose you would be."

Naruto just hummed and tilted his head in thought. "Where have the other kitsunes disappeared to?" Kurama quieted and placed his head on his crossed front paws, looking at Naruto with one eye. "I know they aren't all dead, they were too strong for that. So that leaves only one other option," Kurama waited patiently for the blond to come to the right conclusion. "They moved."

Naruto stood up, pacing the length of the bars, "Somewhere where there won't be any humans or wizards to hunt them down. Another world." He looked at Kurama in the eye, "Maybe even another dimension."

It wasn't uncommon. In the elemental nations there were various summon animals which each have their own world, someplace where no one else can get to. So it made sense that the kitsunes have packed their bags and moved to a place safe from harm.

Kurama smirked, teeth glinting dangerously in the dim lighting.
"Yes they have moved to another world. They've become a summoning clan, living with the other animals in the summoning world. But the people have never found the summoning contract."

Naruto eyed him suspiciously, the gears turning in his head.
"That's because you have it, don't you?"
Kurama only grinned wider.

The week went by without much of a hitch. Naruto attended his classes, roamed the library, together with his clones, and trained in the forbidden forest when everyone else was fast asleep. He hadn't met many creatures there yet, mostly because of the noise he's probably making. But he had a feeling that that would change soon.
Occasionally he would sit in the library together with Tom making their homework or just reading something interesting. It wasn't a friendship really, no. Tom and Naruto weren't the type to have friends. It was more of a silent companionship. They enjoyed each other's company and would sit together in most lessons, but they didn't talk much. Not like that was really needed. They were both busy in learning everything there is to magic. Tom had apparently already made the beginning steps of establishing a court.

You could see it when it's time to eat. The Slytherins have made a statement since the day that Tom (and Naruto) had defeated those fifth year students. The seating has been rearranged. The teachers were the first to have noticed that something was definitely wrong.

At the end of the table was where the first years were seated, closest to the head table where the teachers were located. Followed then by the second year students, and then the third and then fourth years. After the fourth years there were two vacant seats, after those seats came Tom's gang of 'followers'. That group existed of: Abraxas Malfoy, Tom's right-hand man. Lestrange, the Black twins Orion and Darla and Avery.

They considered themselves Tom's friends, but Naruto knew better. Tom didn't have friends. He didn't desire them, just like he himself did not. But Tom was anything but stupid, in public he made it appear as if they were friends, tolerating them. He only used them, manipulating them so that they would do his deeds. Tom had once tried to do the same to him, but Naruto just snorted at him and raised an eyebrow. Before continuing to read the book he got from the restricted section in the library. Tom just smirked in return though, an almost satisfied glint in his eyes as he looked back down at his own book.

And then you also have Jugson. Marius Jugson. The fifth year who had attacked Naruto, and got his ass handed to him by Tom Jugson. He was a pureblood bloodsupremist, who was the one at the top of the food chain in Slytherin before Tom came along.

He was like their bodyguard, the muscles of the gang.

Tom Riddle of course was seated in the middle of the group, strategically placed so he would be able to look over the whole dining hall. After Toms gang came another two vacant places and after that the fifth, sixth and seventh years.

And Naruto, well.. he just sat wherever he wanted. It sometimes irked Tom though, that he had no say whatsoever over the blond, but it only made it more fun for him too. It was like a game of cat and mouse, though the question is; who was the cat and who was the mouse?

It wasn't until Yule break came along that the quiet was broken and chaos ensued.

That was it for now, I know it's a small chapter but I found that this was the right place to stop for now.

Leave a review, cause I love to hear about your oppinions.
btw I won't be able to update much the coming weeks, finals are getting closer (over 1 1/2 week!) and I have to study most of the time.

thanks for reading!
