Chapter Four: Nathan
It was raining again...
footsteps echoed through the dark alley...
he sat down...and breathed out a sigh...
he looked up at the sky, his golden bangs glowing in the moonlight...
"It was a night just like this one..." the man murmured
his eyes closed...and in his head he was traveling, back to the past that he knew...
"Nathan! Nathan!" a girl shouted, a long blade in her hand...
"Nathan!" she called out...
"Ambre!" a man's voice replied
"Nathan, Felipe...he's been..." her voice muffled as tears started to flow down on her face
The man held her in a fierce embrace
"I know Ambre, Felipe is gone..."
The girl cried some more...
"I won't forgive her, I won't forgive her for this..."
The man stroked her head...
"Hush, Hush little Ambre..."
"I won't forgive her!!!! I will Kill her, Nathan, I swear I will..."
"Now, now, if you keep on crying the babies might get hurt..."
At that the girl stopped crying, she looked at him, remnants of a tear reflected the girls crimson eyes, giving the impression she had cried tears of blood...the man raised up his hand and whiped the tear drop...
"Hurry, we must go now my Ambre... we must disappear from man's memory..."
The girl's hand moved to her womb in a protective gesture, she whisperd
"I'll protect you, and I promise that we'll be a family together, you, me and your father..."
The man looked at her
"Ambre?"
She looked at him
"Let's go Nathan..."
suddenly a song sung in a soprano voice flooded their ears...
a voice calls me
calls my heart
to the deep unknown
A voice calls me
by my name
it calls me home
past the pillars of Hercules
Far past the seven seas
past the mists of Avalon
Far past the circles of the world
In my mother's arms I sleep
lulled by my father's voice
sing to me oh nightingales!
Past the circles of the world
Where is home?
The home I love?
Will I find it in the stars above?
The wind will take me there one day
on its silver wings...
The voice will lead,
will lead me home
past the mists of Avalon...
Then I'll sleep
under the stars
Past the circles of the World..
The girl's mouth curved into a frown
"She's here..."
The man turned around, and shielded the girl
"Run Ambre, before it's too late..."
"She will kill you Nathan.. You know she will..."
The man sighed and gave her an encouraging smile...
"I know, but for you and your children's hapiness I will give my life..."
She kissed him tenderly on the cheek
"Oh Nathan, my dear chevalier...Merci beaucoup, Nathan..."
he smiled
"Now run!"
Nathan oppend his eyes
"I failed you countless of times moncour..."
He shook his head, "I failed to protect you, and I failed to protect your daughter Diva..."
He closed his eyes again...
"But I won't fail you a third time..."
Nathan stood up and slowly faded away into the darkness...
