Hey readers! sorry for not updating sooner. Ive been really busy with schoolwork lately, plus, I was grounded because the teacher heard me call someone an ass- and I wasn't even in class... also, I had the hated, and the dreaded, Baby project.
Anyway, say thanks to: Titiff, Mesonoxian, Girl with guns, AnimeLoverLoverOfWriting, NGBW, & 9tail-Naruto, all for reviewing- if it weren't for these guys it would've taken a lot longer to get this chapter out!
Plus, I do not and couldn't ever own any of these characters. Either wise I would have made half of everybody in both fandoms gay.
It was the same woods.
The surroundings were similar to the forest that now surrounded his new home, and the fog was there even in his dream.
He was walking in the dream, going through the woods, his footsteps barely making a sound. His ears were straining, trying to hear the noise that had drawn him out there. A voice, a voice he knew, yet couldn't seem to remember-" Ichigo~"
His ears immediately picked up on the fading word, as the voice grew distant, and he ran in the direction it seemed to originate from, heart pounding.
His name was being repeated, it was bouncing off the trees and cutting through the fog as his heart beat echoed in his ears along with the sound of his blood rushing. He was leaping over roots and twisting away from trees trying to find the voice, he kept running after it.
Ichigo
Ichigo
Ichigo
Ichigo stood in a clearing, his name echoing all around him with different tones every time, but with the same voice, and was always only saying his name- it wouldn't say anything else.
Ichigo twisted in circles, searching for the mysterious owner of the words, and yelled out. "Who are you!" And awaited an answer, only to hear laughter start reverberating through the air, and footsteps to sound behind him.
He quickly turned, wanting to see the figure behind him, the first thing he noticed was a huge grin and-
Ichigo sat up, ridged and coated in sweat, his breath haggard and quick, all the while his eyes were flickering to and fro searching for the figure from the dream, the figure he couldn't remember, the figure whose voice, so different and should've been unforgettable, that was disappearing from his thoughts, and he couldn't remember it within the next few seconds.
His head slowly lifted from where he had buried it in his hands at the sound of whimpers coming from Phoebe, who was lying at the edge of his bed, looking up at him with a concerned gaze, or as much a concerned gaze that a dog could give. He quietly reached a hand out and stroked her head to calm her down, and to try and relax. She scooted forward using her front legs in the common dog like fashion before lying her head down on his knees and staring up at him.
Ichigo cracked a smile while gazing down at Phoebe, which she replied with by letting her tail wag. He reached down and pulled her up snug with his side, making her whine in complaint before holding still. He gently slid his fingers through her fur as he glanced at the clock, and winced in turn at the time. 3:43 in the morning. Not good, especially since he believed he had just overcome the time change. Yet he got up, Phoebe trailing behind, and headed out to the kitchen, his footsteps not making a single noise while Phoebe's nail click clacked behind him.
Ichigo stepped past Tatsuki's room, and could barely hear her murmuring in Japanese under breathe, all the while Keigo's snores echoed through his head. He let out small smile, barely admitting to himself that he actually had grown fond of the sounds over the few days.
As he finally arrived at the kitchen, he pulled down a basic hard plastic clear cup, in which he lazily filled with tap water, and leaned over the sink while he drank it at a slow pace. As he continued to down the water, his body woke up more. He was able to hear and see without a tired haze covering his senses.
He could also sense. And sense he did, for he could practically feel eyes gazing at him. He slowly let his gaze land outside the window in front of the sink, flickering to and fro, searching for the owner of the sensation bestowed on him.
He waited silently, hoping for something to happen- a movement, a sound, anything. But he couldn't see a thing, it was dark out, and with the fog that he now definitely believed would never leave, there was no way to- there! – his mind seemed to bark out, and his eyes flashed to a small alcove between to trees, where he could've sworn seemed darker barely even 3 seconds ago when his gaze was upon it. There had been something there, but it had been so still, so quiet, not even a trained person could be like that, at least, not any human…
Ichigo shook his head at the thought, slightly annoyed that the slight paranoia he had during the war had shifted into what it was. He saw an enemy in everyone, and saw hope in everything. But he knew he'd never be able to become what he was, and never tried to. To him, those days were over. Or at least, so he silently hoped as his gaze trailed back to the spot, and lingered there.
Nothing happened after that, and even though the presence was gone, his mind was still on high alert as he slowly backed away and headed back to his room with Phoebe on his heels, her head swinging, probably sensing that something was wrong
The man stood right outside of the vegans and mutts territory, having watched the human- or whatever he- it- was for as long as possible without being detected. It both annoyed and intrigued him that a mere humane creature could be that sensitive to its surroundings. He was also fascinated with the way the human moved, its way of silent walking, so quiet that even him, a top hunter, one of the supreme species couldn't hear him.
The boy had moved with a grace that would even put some vampires to shame- a grace of that of a hunter, a fighter, and unlike the little brunette pixie in the Cullen clan, his movements were all natural seeming, but unlike other like Felix and Dmitri, his movements weren't a stalking, frightening gait meant to intimidate.
But alas, that wasn't the only thing that caught the man's attention, no. His weak spots were strange, although the natural ones were apparent, there were few others that most wouldn't notice, yet he did with his ability, the action of pinpointing soft spots. It was the only reason the masters had let him join their coven was because his ability could be used in a fight or battle. It normally was an easy way out- quick death practically every-
He quickly dodged in time to miss a huge furry body that seemed to have come from nowhere, and in his shock, realized how stupid he was to believe that just because he exited the territory doesn't mean he's out of harm's way.
This was a pain in his ass, it was not part of his plan. But as the creature circled in a crouched, ready to lunge at any moment, he decided. He had always loved a good game of cat and mouse.
Except this time, he was the mouse.
Morning arrived, waking Seth up from his good night sleep. He drowsily sat up, hair sticking to and fro, and yawned widely until a groan emerged that sounded like a dying whale giving birth. He laughed a little and rubbed his empty tummy, getting up with a smile and heading out into the small kitchen that was in their small house. He couldn't help but notice how much cleaner it was, and how much effort Leah had put into making the house seem decent for their upcoming guests.
Leah had been hesitant at first to tell him why the transfers couldn't come by earlier than what now was today, and she had finally let spill what she thought and assumed it probably was. He, like his sister didn't blame them one bit. Although, Leah was getting slightly scary any time he messed up anything.
Plus, he couldn't wait to meet his sister's imprintee. From what she's shared with everyone, which wasn't a lot, he seemed goofy, and clumsy, and somehow undeserving of his sister, yet he was willing to meet the guy and to get to know him. Who knows, there just might have a reason why fate chose him for his sister.
And on the topic of imprintee's, his mind couldn't help but wander to the thought of him ever getting one. He had many doubts, along the facts that for one thing, he was gay, and another, along with his gayness, he wouldn't be able to bear kids with any males.
As he sighed, his ears picked up a noise, and he quickly dodged as his sister came flying down the stair in a fast pace that barely gave her credit for when she ran, and he watched wide eyed as she quickly rushed through the house, seeming to double check things before setting her gaze onto him. He knew that gaze.
He knew it all too well.
Seth groaned, his hand going up about to run his fingers through his now styled and gelled hair before freezing at his older sisters glaring stare. He quickly snapped his arm down, sighing and muttering under his breath about how unfair it was he had to dress up for her imprint.
He was wearing a plaid button down, which he had pulled the sleeves to his elbows, and a white tank under it. His pants were his 'best' pair. They were the faded denim, stretched out from all his growth spurts, and there was a brown belt he used to hold them up.
He glanced at the clock. It was barely passed noon and she was still acting like they'd be there any second, when they both knew that the transfers would arrive at 4:30, to get introduced to everyone, hang out for a while, and then eat.
Seth sighed, but couldn't help but let out a smile. He hadn't seen his sister this happy in a while. It was refreshing, and was a good change to her normal sullen, easily angered mood. Of course, both her happiness and his smile slipped away when there was a knock on the front door, that once opened, revealed Paul from the Uley pack. His face was in its normal scowl, and he seemed to be pissed- another common look of his.
"What's up?" Seth asked, standing by Leah. Paul looked them both up and down, before stating, "There's a new leech around. Found his scent, traced it from practically right by your boyfriends house all the way till I met up with him right out of our territory. He's up in Canada now."
Seth stiffened as he felt Leah go ridged, practically oozing contempt and anger as she questioned Paul more about the vampire. Seth stood to the side, listening in, getting ready to calm his sister down if she finally pushed her bounds and would change.
Paul stayed only as long as he had to, which was probably longer than his comfort zone. Particularly since Leah was now more pissed than a cat thrown in a pool. Which Leah would've probably slapped him for if he had spoken it out loud.
But when Leah turned around, now facing him, he looked her in the eyes, and looked past the anger and rage, and saw barely visible concern hidden in her brown depths. He walked over to her and rested her hands on her shoulders. "Everything's gonna be fine alright? They're coming over here in about four hours, you can go and make sure he's alright then. But remember, he still doesn't know about all of us, so please don't make yourself to obvious?" Seth added a small smile at the end and squeezed her shoulders slightly, and he let out a silent breath of relief as she seemed to relax a little and nodded.
Seth took some steps back, and looked around the house, looking for something to distract his sister. His eyes landed on the kitchen. "So what exactly are we going to eat tonight with them?" Leah sighed, before straightening up. "Were going to have homemade pizza. 5 pizza's, two cheese, one pepperoni only, the fourth will have banana pepper, black olives, and ham, and the last will have everything."
Seth's eyebrow rose. "Pizza?" Leah nodded, "Common food. American." Seth let out a small laugh. "It's actually Italian." Leah scowled, a dark aura engulfing her. "Then it's American for tonight." Seth backed up a little and smiled reassuringly, holding hands up in a surrendering gesture. "Alright, alright, fine."
Leah nodded and headed into the kitchen, Seth turning on his heel and heading the other direction.
Seth was sitting in front of their cable TV, having watched the past few hours away, when he heard Leah come down the stairs swiftly in a light green T-Shirt that had a tree on it, and her khaki shorts that went to her knee's, her hair was pulled back in a loose ponytail, and her feet were barefoot.
Seth sighed, and turned back to watching the TV as he heard the door open, and winced when he heard a few of the lines the teen used on his sister, and shook his head as his sister laughed and giggled, before greeting a girl named Tatsuki or some other name with a similar pronunciation. He also heard her hesitantly greet a male named Ichigo, and he heard her ask him if he wanted a soft place to set his glasses down at, which the guy replied that his eyes were being strangle irritable that day, and he'd prefer to wear them if that was alright with her, which his sister replied a positive to.
He stood up as Leah headed into the room, followed closely by a brunette boy with a yellow shirt and green cargo pants, whose hand he shook and introduced himself to, which the guy- Keigo, replied his name and made a comment on how he was taller than Ichigo.
Seth smiled and laughed before turning to greet the others, and froze as his eyes landed on the orangette, whose eyes were hidden behind a pair of dark shades, who once seeing him, seemed to freeze for a moment, before a mask came back onto his face, and held his hand out to shake, which Seth grabbed and used as an excuse to get closer to the man, who was about 5 inches shorter than him, and when their hands touch, he felt a strange sensation rush up his hand through his arm and it went through his whole body.
Seth could tell that Ichigo also felt the sensation by the goose-bumps that went up his arms and by how his breathing seemed to paused for a moment. But what got to Seth was his muttered question. "Just what the hell are you?"
Ichigo could feel his heart speeding up as he continued to look at him with a look of need. At that moment, he could never be more glad his shades were on. He knew at that moment he had lost his mask, something that hadn't happened in a while.
In fact, the last time his breath had ever been this short and his heart this fast was when Renji finally asked him out on a date. The difference was that, compared to that feeling, if it was a pebble, this would be the milky way.
Ichigo's mind had gone blank, and without his own permission, his mouth uttered the one question, the one question he needed to know, and made – Seth was his name he was sure of it- tense up, before Seth opened his mouth, and instead of answering, was interrupted by Tatsuki.
"Um, Excuse me, but aren't we supposed to get to know each other?" Tatsuki raised her eyebrow, and Ichigo snapped out of his haze and took many more than needed steps back, fingers going up and pushing his glasses closer to his face. He shot Tatsuki a thankful look, while noticing Seth – which now he was positive it was his name- was glaring at her, before sending looks his way.
Before the little stare match between all three could continue on much longer, Leah interrupted with a loved, and hated, sentence. "Pizza's are ready."
Ichigo went to go wash up before he ate, and by washing up, he entered their bathroom, turned on the cold water in the sink and whipped his sunglasses off before converging his face in the chilly substance. Whoever that man was- no, whatever that man was, he was bad news. Ichigo hadn't felt all these emotions in a while, and it bothered him so much.
He glanced up in the mirror and glanced back down before jerking his head back up and examining the reflection. Just a second ago, he could have sworn that it wasn't himself staring back, the eyes were different, and it was smiling, and it looked like-
*knock knock knock*
Ichigo snapped his head towards the door and slipped his sunglasses on before opening it, revealing Tatsuki, who had a more than slightly annoyed glare, which was directed at him. "You coming to eat or not?" She asked, her voice sounding out the annoyance she obviously was feeling. "You're the one were waiting on." She spoke irritatedly before turning and walking off, Ichigo close behind.
to say dinner was fine was a complete and utter lie that couldn't even sound true even if said from Lucifer's own lips. Keigo and Leah went off into their own strange world, while Tatsuki was stuck in-between both Ichigo and Seth. Ichigo was more than pleased when she broke the silence saying they should probably hurry up since the pets were still at the house and that Phoebe was probably worried sick about him. To which, he readily agreed.
Keigo put up a fuss, yet Ichigo was finally able to separate the two love birds from each other, with Tatsuki's help of course, and was able to pry him to the door. They all stepped out, and yet when Ichigo's foot hit the porch, a hand yanked on his arm, spinning him around while another hand reached up and yanked his sunglasses off, making his poisonous golden hued eyes meet with dark pits of mahogany brown.
At that one moment, the world froze.
