Chapter 4: Sneaky sneaky

Bulma sat back with her arms behind her head and sighed. It had been five days since the two saiyans had come back to Earth and things were still surprisingly quiet. She had expected Vegeta to go to Goku demanding a rematch from their first encounter, but that had not happened. Since he'd been back all Vegeta had done was use the gravity machine to train and then immediately gone to his room or to the refrigerator. Bulma had hardly seen him and when she did she got so tongue tied she'd say the most ridiculous things.

I'm not normally like this...I wonder why Vegeta makes me so flustered? Without knowing what to say there was no reason to seek him out. She wanted to change that but did not know enough about the young prince to feel like they could talk equally. She sighed again and spun slowly in her office chair.

While things might have been more quiet at home than she liked, things had been chaos at the Son home. Goku had ended his marriage to Chi Chi and they were going to try joint custody with Gohan. The day that Goku had talked to Chi Chi, Bulma had received a very tear-filled phone call from the woman. Bulma started to get a headache just thinking about it. Everyone knew that Goku and Chi Chi had a strained relationship. It was just a matter of time before something like this happened. Secretly Bulma was celebrating internally for Goku, but on the outside she was trying to remain neutral. It wouldn't do to rub salt in Chi Chi's wound.

The day after she had received another call from Goku. He explained the same thing Chi Chi had only with relief instead of self pity evident in his tone. He also mentioned that he was moving out and needed to find a place to live in the next few days. "Goku, you are welcome here if you would like a place to stay. We have plenty of room and food. Vegeta's here too so you'd have someone to spar and talk with."

Goku hesitated then said quietly, "I don't know if that would work very well...doesn't Vegeta still kind of...hate me?"

Bulma thought seriously about this and choose her words carefully. "I don't think so. I think he's jealous of you and his pride is making it hard for him to get over his jealousy. If he was as strong as you it might be different.." She paused for a minute and continued. I think he might be bored here actually. Training and beating up robots probably isn't the most exciting thing in the world."

"Ok. I might take you up on that offer. I need to figure out some stuff first." Bulma's face brightened a bit. "Alright! Just let me know Goku."

That was four days ago and she had not heard anything since. If Goku did decide to live at Capsule Corporation Bulma was hoping Vegeta would act like less of a stranger and she could get to know him better. It didn't look like any of that was going to happen.

Her phone suddenly rang making her jump in her chair. "H-hello?" She stammered as she picked up. She heard an AH-CHOO at the other end as someone sneezed loudly. "Hello?" She asked again. "Goku?"

"Hi Bulma!" He sounded much more chipper than he was the last time they had spoken. "I decided to take up your offer to ya know, live at Capsule Corporation. If that's still ok that is."

"Absolutely! I had hoped you would honestly. Things are way too boring around here right now. When are you coming over?"

"Later today if that works for you. I have all my stuff already capsulized so I'm ready to go."

"Ok! I'll make sure your room is ready. See you soon!"

"Alrighty. See you soon Bulma." She put the phone down with a soft click. Bulma sat back in her chair again and sighed with relief. Goku staying with her solved many of her problems and she was really looking forward to it. She thought about how much Goku must have been through in the past few days and felt sorry for him. I think Goku would probably do better if he had someone who supported him and cared about Gohan like Goku does.

She rested her head on her palm and thought about what she could do to help him. An image of the robot maid from the cartoon The Jetsons immediately popped into her head. She chuckled and shook her head to clear that thought out. She stood up suddenly with wide eyes as she realized there was a very easy way she could help him.

She grabbed the phone next to her and quickly punched in the number to Kame house. Please don't be Roshi...Please don't be Roshi. "Hello, Kame house, Krillin Speaking."

"Krillin, hi! It's Bulma. I need to make a wish on the Dragon balls and I wanted you to come with in case any trouble happens."

"I'd be happy to help but wouldn't you want Goku to come with you? He's stronger, he can protect you better if anything happens."

Bulma shook her head, forgetting Krillin couldn't see her. "He could but I don't want him to know. Are you ok with coming?"

There was a pause on the other end. "Yeah I can come with but what is the wish? Why can't Goku know?"

"Don't worry about it. I'll be there to get you in two hours. See you soon." She hung the phone up just as Krillin was about to argue again. With a big smile on her face she left her lab and went to capsulize some belongings for the trip. If there's not a woman on Earth for Goku then I guess I'll have to look elsewhere.

He sighed as the last piece of wiring was secured in the arm of his creation. Not the newest or most advanced one, but certainly the most responsive to his commands. He sat up and pushed the button on the case holding this particular experiment. Looking at the face behind the glass he whispered, "Soon android 16, we will have our revenge."

I didn't have as much fun writing this one either but it's necessary. I like Bulma just not the lack of Vegeta in this. Next part will be Vegetastic *Shakes fist in victory* Thank you to anyone who has given me positive feedback. You guys have no idea how much that helps motivate me to write more.
