The Misty Mermaid: A Pokeshipping Tail

Chapter 4: Staying

Here's the next chapterrrrr! :) Sorry for the waaaaait peoples! :P

Misty sat in the sand, knowing she needed to go back home, but still felt as if she...

Rubbing her eyes, she lied down on the grainy ground, her face touching its soft surface.

"Ash..." she murmured. That's when she heard something.

"HELP!" someone screamed loudly.

Jumping to her feet, she whirled around to try and find the source of the noise. To her left, she saw the more populated side of the beach take notice as well. They all looked out to the ocean where...a tiny child was floundering in the water.

"Oh no!" "Poor kid." "Who's gonna help him?" voices said in worry.

Misty bit her lip. She could easily save him...but then they'd all know she was a mermaid and...

"Look!" someone shouted. Her head snapped up and she watched as a tall girl sprinted towards the water with a surfboard. Tossing it in, she began paddling out.

Misty stared as she stood up, and flew over a few rolling waves towards the child. Leaning over, she scooped him up, and placed him on her shoulders. Turning back around, the girl headed towards the shore.

Out of no where, a gigantic wave rose up, and everyone on the beach scattered.

"Uh oh..." Misty gulped, but the girl calmly rode the wave as it closed around her, and skimmed onto the wet sand without a single problem. Misty let out a breath; that was close.

A crowd gathered around the girl as she placed the child on the ground in front of his parents.

"Momma!" he cried.

The girl wiped her bangs back with her hand and smiled.

"You've done it again!" someone said.

"Our Leaf is amazing!"

"A great surfer AND a lifeguard!"

She giggled lightly, and picked up her board before running out of the crowd and toward her lifeguard chair.

Misty felt her mouth parting in a grin. Leaf was really cool; that was a fact.

She clench my fists; now it is time for her to go and find Ash!

Dawn sat in the sand. Her eyebrow twitched in annoyance.

"How much long-" she started, but Paul held up a paint brush to silence her.

Making a face, the bluenette began muttering under her breath and kicked a rock before howling in pain. Paul whirled around, sending paint flying.

"Can you be quiet?" he snapped, pointing his brush at her. "Or is the word 'quiet' not in your dictionary?"

Dawn's mouth opened wide and she scoffed. "Now that is rude!" she stated. "You shouldn't talk that way towards people! I can't imagine how many of your friends put up with you!"

Paul turned away, and ignored her comment.

Crossing her arms, the angry mermaid started throwing imaginary daggers at his back. Meanie...

Gary swum around lazily. "Now Dawn is gone," he drawled. "This is booooooring."

Drew glared at him. "Well at least I'M doing something while YOU are just floating around!" Drew snapped, and kept looking around for the other two mermaids in the seaweed garden.

"Haven't we already looked her twice?" Gary asked.

Drew stopped. "Yeah well..."

Gary did a handstand in the sand as Drew pushed through more seaweed.

"Hmmm...didn't Dawn go towards the surface to look for Misty?" he said in thought.

Drew put a hand to his chin for a moment. "Yeah..."

"Well, lets' go check there then!" Gary said, snapping his fingers.

Drew sighed and followed the other merboy into the higher, clearer waters. "We are going to regret this..." he muttered.

After a while, they finally reached the top. Drew's head poked out of the water and-BAM! Something hit him on the head. He floated back down, holding his head in agony.

"Wow! That girl totally hit you with her surfboard!" Gary laughed as he passed the green haired merboy.

"And I totally regret this..." Drew groaned.

Gary stuck his head out of the water and watched as the girl on the surfboard stop in the sand and set down a child. She wiped her hair out of the way and Gary saw her face.

Eyes widening her just stared.

And stared...and stared...

"Hey, earth to Gary?" Drew started, and waved a hand in front of his friends' face.

Looking over at the beach Drew facepalmed.

"She's...beautiful..." Gary trailed off.

Sorry for the shortness! I wanted it to end here! :O Because...well...Gary's face in my imagination is hilarious, and I wanted it to be the last thing you all thought off! ^-^

Tell me what you thought! :)
