Hi guys! I know it's been a long time since I updated this story and I apologize for that. I've been kinda busy with a hectic life, I have a new job, and I've added two new stories to my list. Don't worry, I haven't abandoned this story, just dealing with life, anyways, hope you guys enjoy!

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

Two months later

I grinned as I loped towards the Slifer Red dorm. Today Jaden and I would be dating for two months now. Officially we weren't really dating though. The packs had some rule about the leaders having to approve of the pairing. But we said to heck with that rule, we were in love and we were not waiting for them to approve of it.

Today we had the day off of school and I was gonna make the most of it. We had already made plans with the others to go to the beach for the day, but tonight he was all mine. I was soon at the clearing the Slifer Dorm. After making sure no one was looking, I shifted into my human form and walked up the stairs to Jaden's dorm.

I knocked on the door and heard people moving around inside. The door opened and I was greeted by a ticked off looking Syrus. "Morning Sy."

He just grunted and stepped aside to let me in before closing the door behind me. "Well aren't you just a little ray of sunshine today." I said before I was attacked from behind. Already used to this I quickly whirled around and grabbing the attacker. I planted a kiss on their forehead before I let them go.

"Good morning my sun, how did you sleep?" I purred at him

"Like a log my moon" He cooed back at me before kissing me on the cheek. "What bout you?"

"Perfectly. So what's up with Mr. Grumpykins over there?" I motioned towards Sy who had went right back to bed.

"He was up all night studying and when he tried to sleep there were a bunch of wolves outside howling so loud that he couldn't sleep." He grinned, sneaking me a look that only I would understand.

I chuckled as I realized exactly who it was that had kept him from sleeping. "Considering we got even less sleep than him, I don't see why he's upset. Anyways, are you ready yet? We're gonna be late for the date with the group."

"Of course I'm ready, just gotta grab my swim trunks before we head out."He grinned before running over to his closet and grabbing said swim trunks. "Let's go!"

We headed downstairs and into the forest before shifting. Jaden grabbed his trunks in his mouth and we took off towards the beach. I loved to watch Jaden when he ran, he was built to run and he loved it, he could easily beat me in any race. When he fully stretched out it was like he could fly, his paws barely touching the ground. Jaden barked excitedly as he stretched out to run, I grinned as I watched and pushed myself to try to keep up. I knew I couldn't but it was always fun to try.

Jaden beat me by a landslide, by the time I got to the beach, Jaden had already changed into his swim trunks and was talking to Alexis. The huntress had actually warmed up to us last month when we had rescued her from a rabid animal who had cornered her in the power grid. We couldn't say the same for her partners though.

"Good morning Jesse, are you ready for a fun day?" Alexis greeted as I shifted into my human form.

"Morning Alexis, and I'm all set for the day. Did you make sure to bring your sunscreen and towel?"

"Of course, what girl forgets to bring that kind of stuff to the beach, what about you two? I don't see either of you two with anything."

"I put sunscreen on in my dorm room, I hope Jay put some on before I got there." I stared at him and he grinned like a madman.

"Obviously, jeez Jess, I know that you have to put sunscreen on before you go to the beach." He said as he stuck his tongue out at me.

"I hope you don't mind that I invited a few of my girlfriends along. I didn't want to be the only girl with a whole bunch of guys."

"Of course not, the more the merrier, right Jay?" He nodded in agreement. "Are they hunters as well?"

"One of them, the others aren't. Some them aren't smart enough to be hunters, like Jasmine and Mindy, they're good friends, but god they can be so dumb." I made a face as she said that. That was one of the things that confused me about humans. They were a lot like wolves, but at the same time, completely different.

When we formed a pack of friends, we never talked about each other behind their backs. We always brought the problem right to them. That's not to say wolves don't talk about people behind their back, like humans, that was normal. However, we don't talk about our personal pack, that was a huge no no.

"Ugh, you wolves and your rules." Alexis groaned as she saw Jaden mimic my facial features. He was obviously thinking the same thing.

"It's not really a rule Alexis, it's more like, good manners. Like how humans always tell others if they're about to run into something. You're not required to do it, but you feel bad if you don't." Jaden responded. I never really thought of it that way but he was right.

"Hey Lexi!" Alexis perked up as she heard one of her friends shout as they made their way towards us.

"Hey Morgan, you ready for some fun in the sun today?" She greeted the ravenette as she joined the group.

"Obvs, as long as the wolves behave." She seemed to growl at us.

"I'm guessing she's the hunter friend you were talking about." I said as the girl glared at us.

"Yup, Jesse, Jaden, this is Morgan Kamina. Morgan, you don't have to worry about them, they'll behave, right boys?"

"Of course Alexis, you don't have to worry about a thing." Jaden responded as he grinned happily. I swear, that boy would try to make friends with a rabid raccoon if he had the chance.

"I'm more worried about her attacking us. I don't want her to report Jaden if he tackled Sy in the water or something like that." I said, looking back at the girl with just as much suspicion.

"As long as you don't give me a reason to report you, then you don't have to worry."She snapped right back.

"We have every right to act as rough and playfully as anyone else here." I growled. "Being a wolf shouldn't stop us from having fun with our friends."

Jaden whined as he watched the two of us argue. "Come on guys, why can't we just forget all of this hunter stuff and just enjoy the day. We promise not to do anything wrong if you don't try to get us in trouble, deal?"

Morgan broke her stare with me to look at Jaden. She hesitated for a second, debating whether or not to accept the deal. "Fine, but after today we're going back to the old routine." Holy cow, I did not think this girl was going to give me and Jaden a break today and one of us were going to get shipped back home.

Jaden happily grinned at Morgan before he looked over her my shoulder and giving a playful yelp and running past me. I grinned at his playful behavior, he was very much still a pup mentally. I turned around and saw Jaden playfully jumping around Hassleberry. He was used to Jaden's childish actions by now so it didn't bother him.

We had actually met Hassleberry a few weeks ago. The dude had been hunting down Obelisk Blue students and stealing their duel disks when he beat them. Thankfully he hadn't challenged me, but Jaden beat him and convinced him to give back the duel disks he stole. Ever since then he had gotten attached to Jay and was as loyal as any pack member.

As Jaden was busy with Hassleberry, I started to strip down to my swim trunks. By the time the pair had gotten back to the group I was wearing only my swim trunks. "You ready to go for a swim Jay?"

"Yeah, let's go! I'll race you there!" He challenged.

"Oh your own." I accepted his challenge. We took off, kicking sand up as we ran towards the ocean.

As a wolf, Jaden may be faster than me, but as a human I was faster. So I reached the ocean before he did and whirled around to face him. I yelped as he lunged at me, tackling me into the water. Thankfully we were both far away enough from the beach to where the fall didn't hurt, but close enough to where I didn't choke on too much water.

Jaden's weight quickly disappeared off of my own and I sat up, spitting the salt water out of my mouth. "Sorry Jess." Jaden grinned sheepishly as he offered me his hand to help me stand up.

I took it and pulled him down with all my strength. He yelped in surprise as he fell down on top of me. A wave of water crashed over the both of us, causing us to both splutter as water got into our mouths. We both looked at each other and started cracking up, before another wave crashed over us.

"Maybe we should stand up." I suggested as Jaden coughed up salt water.

He nodded in agreement and we stood up before the next wave could come over us again. Jaden tugged on my arm as he moved farther out to see. "Come on 's have fun."

"That's alright, Jay, I'll just watch." Jaden shrugged and walked farther out.

I watched as Jaden walked towards a wave, only to turn his back to the wave and jumped into it. I watched in amazement as he actually rode the top of the wave for a few feet before the wave became too small to carry him. He caught himself before he hit the sand and ran back to the position he was in before.

His pattern was a little weird, sometimes he'd let a few waves pass, sometimes it would be every other wave, or sometimes even the one right after. Occasionally he would mess up and he'd be pushed under the water or he's scrape his knees on the sand. But no matter what, Jaden always looked like he was enjoying himself.

Other people started to join us in the ocean, including some of our pack. Alexis was swimming a bit farther out with Mindy and Jasmine. Syrus and Hassleberry were closer to the shore and were splashing water at each other. I decided to join Jaden with wave jumping.

At first I would try to jump into every wave like Jaden, but I quickly learned it wasn't that easy. I quickly learned that I had to time it just right to be right at the crest of the wave. Even with that knowledge, I wasn't able to get each one right. I had to wait for a wave of the right size, if it was too small I wouldn't be pushed very far. While if it was too large it would push me under the water.

After a few hours of it I was exhausted and I decided to take a break. I found Bastion sitting on a beach chair underneath an umbrella. There was a card table set up with all kinds of snacks on top right next to him and a cooler filled with drinks on the other side of the table. I grabbed a drink from the cooler and sat on a towel laid out in the sand.

"Hey Bastion, having fun?" I asked as I sipped on the soda.

"Mmm, yes quite a bit." He mumbled as he glanced up from his book.

"Have you gotten in the water at all?" I asked, wondering if he had been reading that book the entire time.

"Not yet, I plan to as soon as soon as I've finished reading this book." I nodded in understanding, I had been in that situation before.

I looked around the beach, Bastion and I weren't the only ones sitting down. There were a few girls laying out on towels sunning themselves. There were also a few volleyball nets a few yards down and there were a few groups playing.

As time passed by the group slowly came back in. We ate lunch, a few sandwiches made by Dorothy, before pairing up for a few volleyball matches. I ended up being paired with Morgan while Jaden was paired with Alexis. Needless to say Morgan and I made a terrible pair and we didn't win any games. Jaden and Alexis however won 5 out of 6 of their matches.

We spent most of the day playing around in the ocean or just hanging out on the beach. By the time it started to get dark some of the people started heading back to the dorms. Our main pack wasn't ready to leave yet though. They were ready to start a fire at the fire pits a few yards down the beach, but I already had plans for me and Jaden so I nudged him when I was ready to head out.

He looked up from where he was talking to Morgan and cocked his head in curiosity. "Come on Jay, we should head back now."

Jaden gave a whine. "Aww, but we were gonna roast marshmallows and make s'mores by the fire."

"Jay, Soleil and Yume are at the dorms alone, we should check on them to make sure they haven't torn anything apart." I said, coming up with a random idea to get him to leave. I knew our dragons wouldn't destroy anything, I had left the windows open to let them roam free while we were out.

"Fine, let's go." He stood up and grabbed his uniform, telling the group goodbye.

We headed into the forest and as soon as we were out of site of the beach we shifted and headed towards my dorm. We got there in less than three minutes and Jaden jumped into the shower as I went to check on the dragons. Just like I expected, they were both gone, the window wide open, like I left it. As soon as I heard the water shut off, I spoke, "Hey Jay, the dragons got out."

"What? What do you mean the dragons got out?" He asked as he stepped out of the shower, dried himself off and started getting dressed.

I quickly undressed and jumped into the shower. I answered him while I rinsed off the sand from the beach and washed my body. "Well, the window in my room is wide open and I can't find the dragons anywhere."

"I'm gonna go check my dorm really quick, maybe Yume flew back there and Soleil followed her. They're a lot like us you know." I could practically hear the smile on his face.

"Yeah, I think that's the point of the dragons Jaden. They imprint on us, learn our behaviors, and express them to the one they feel closest to. Just hold on a bit, as soon as I'm out, we'll go check together."

"Alright."

So what do you guys think? I'm sorry for the time skip, but even in the original script it was planned. I promise there will be fluff in the next chapter too. With the new script I'm trying to figure out when to bring in Jehu and Haou, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. The wave riding is actually something I did last time I went to the beach and man is it fun, even if my knees and elbows were all banged up. I'm not sure if it had a name, so I just called it 'crest riding.' Anyways, that's it for now. Love it, hate it, just review it. Buh-bye!
