Chapter 3 Broken Promise
Hellooo - minna-san! me backs with a new chapter of CFV: Void's Vessel. here is chapter 3 will explain before how did Aichi disappear but just a pieces though ;P
Days before Aichi went on missing- he and his friends should be celebrating about their victory against the dark entity 'LINK JOKER'. But they needed some time to take a rest for everybody was exhausted after that intense fight especially Aichi who saved the whole world when he struggling against 'The Reversed ' inside him , that took all of his energy. Exerting oneself would not do any good at them so they decided to do that before and end of summer break which Aichi can't helped but to get excited. He wanted to spend more time with his friends after all the chaos they been through never does that peace won't last long.
After planning their next meeting again, the group decided to went on their separates ways - to go home.
While walking towards home, Aichi begun to feel heavy and for some reason his vision seems starting to get dim. Some images flashing back to his mind like a broken record but he can't understand it.
They're like puzzles - there is too much missing pieces in order to complete and solve it- the others must be found so it could turn into a whole again.
Who-?
Aichi seems bring back to his reality when Emi called out for him when she's talking for good five minutes but his dear brother won't give any of his thoughts .
"What is it again? Sorry . I was too absorb with my thoughts " he said, scratching the back of his head, which is half truth.
Emi eyed him skeptically . "Was it Kai-san you're thinking about, Aichi?"
"No"
"Then, Kourin-san?"
Hearing Kourin's name , Aichi remembered Kourin's cruel fate but that didn't happen because the real Takuto was safe and alive which he was glad.
How on earth did that happen?
He doesn't know .
"No- wait! I'm the one who is the first asking a question then how come you're the one who keep on doing the interrogation?" There is a hint of slight annoyance at Aichi but that was well hidden , And he is grateful that Emi snapped him because it helped him forget for a moment his problem which is he becoming delusional or something like that? he was not sure of himself.
"Hmph," Emi folded her arms and pouted at Aichi with annoyance. "I've been talking for a good five minutes and you are busy with your thoughts that you can't come up with a good respond!"
"Alright, Sorry about that . But , then again. What are we talking about again? I mean-"
"I was talking about Kourin-san and -" She was immediately cut off by Aichi as he can understand her concerned for others.
Aichi eyes softened "I'm sure everything is going to be fine and so everyone -No, everything is going to be okay now so stop thinking too much." he reassure her while petting her head.
"Alright!" Emi cheered.
Emi knows that if Aichi is the one who promises , She is certain this will come true and can never be broken no matter what happens.
Once they got home ,Shizuka already prepared their dinner and all of them sat together . After finishing his meal , Aichi excused himself saying that he is tired and want to sleep already which is the truth.
He goes straight to his room and locked the door. He leans at the door , he looked up to the ceiling and his vision practically beginning to spin and get dim, he walked towards his bed and immediately falls down with a loud thud.
The images once again racing back to his mind , his eyes were unfocused and blank, unseeing his surroundings only the images he can't put together. No matter how he tried to complete it message it just wont work.
They're very familiar but he can't recall whether its his past memory or somebody else, seeing them makes his eyes watery (he's crying). He felt both sad and empty.
Why is that?
There is someone speaking to him. No- There is someone calling out for him.
Who?
And Where?
These events are very familiar to him but he didn't know when it happened.
Oh, right. He experienced it after The Link Joker incident.
No, That's not it.
The sensation, the scenes, the voice and everything were both familiar and different from the last.
How is that happened?
It's like somebody switches the events and alter it with a new one.
"Sendou... Aichi.."
There goes again... that voice.. It wasn't Takuto ...It's sounded like his but more mature and gentle. Just hearing it again brings pain to his skull , It feel like his head going to split into two . He clutches his pillow, trying to hold on something while enduring the painful sensation happening to him.
"It's time..."
Time? Time for what? . Aichi mouthed as there is no voice coming out at him, his throat seems very dried and filled with sand.
"It's time... It's time for you to make a choice.. A decision.."
A what? A decision? Why?
His mind held those questions while the others keep on saying the simple words 'It's time'. Aichi is both delusional and confused. But, he wanted this to be over- He cut himself from continuing as his eyes seemed to realize what is his situation.
"I understand..." Aichi closed his eyes and mumbled his decision . "I'll be doing it.. I'll come with you so that , We can ascertain the safety of future that I once tried to crush with the palm of my hands..." He opened his eyes and seen the silhouette figure hovering above him which he knows very well.
"Are you ready?"
"Yes"
With that simple answer , The world around him turned pitch black and he felt like something inside him was found and went missing . That is the last thing he felt before everything dissolve into nothingness.
... Next day...
Emi woke up early so she can helped her mother, Sendou Shizuka prepare their breakfast when she realize that her mother is still not up so she decided to do the basic chores.
But, then she was frightened and surprised by the sudden appearance of Aichi at the threshold.
"Good grief. Aichi. You scared outta hell of me " she scolded him.
"Sorry" He walked towards her.
Emi realized Aichi kinda off but decided to shrug off that thought.
"You're up early today the world must be ending" She teased.
Aichi give out a small laugh before kneeling down and give Emi a tight embraced.
"Aichi?" Emi blinked with confusion. "What are you doing?"
"Saying Goodmorning to my little cute sister"
Emi blushed at this so she tried to push Aichi out of embarrassment but with no avail.
"Emi-" Aichi started.
"What? You're acting strange. Did something happened?"
"No..." Aichi paused for a good moment and went on. "Can you promise me something?"
"Sure. What is it?"
Aichi let go of his sister but still has his hands on her shoulders,
"Promise me that you won't hold any grudges to anyone."
"What the heck?"
"Please.."
Emi sighed and nodded. "Okay , I swear I won't hold any grudges to anyone" she made a pinky swear with Aichi and he seems satisfied with her respond. "But, What is this for?"
"To prepare you " That was his only reply before walking to the threshold.
"Hold on a sec, Where are you going?! You haven't eaten anything yet!"
Aichi didn't turned around. "I'm just going to do something . I'll be back so don't worry" His voice seems far off and before Emi can mutter some words he already had left.
Emi clenched her small hands into fist . There is something wrong but Aichi won't tell her so she can only hope that nothing bad will happen to him but soon that hope was crushed at that very day.
"Emi.. You're brother isn't back yet " Shizuka exclaimed while looking at the clock. It's past 11:30 pm "Did he call you? Where could he be now or maybe he'll be staying at some friends house?"
"No"
Emi starting to get a bad feeling this but... At the very first time Aichi broken his promise and the following days he didn't come home, school or even at the Card Capital.
They tried getting in touch with him but with no avail and keep on searching him but it's no use so they decided to be practical .. They asked for help hoping that it will be easier for them to find him which she hoped will worked out.
Emi went to Aichi's room , remembering his last conversation with her before he went on missing which he said about not holding grudges to anyone . She felt bad about him breaking his promise but.. She didn't hold any grudge on him... Yet , the real meaning on those words had a deeper meaning .
She took a picture of her brother and held it tightly near to her chest.
"Aichi...Aichi... Where are you?"
She is more worried and filled with love for her brother than to hate him.
"Please come back... Please..." She cried quietly. Her voice starting to crack into a broken sobs , not noticing the person in the corner of the room with a forlorn expression and mouthed "forgive me... It's needed to be done"
