Chloe:

Once decked out in the trendiest Camp Half-blood merchandise (Which conveniently happened to be the cheapest clothes the Camp Gift shop had), Chloe, Sam, and Isla met outside the Big house to discuss today's plans.

"So what should we do first?" Sam asked.

"I vote that we split up." Isla said, "It's possible that our godly parents are merely waiting for the opportune time to claim us, we have a greater chance of getting claimed if we split up and go our separate ways."

Sam smirked maliciously at that. "That works for me, what about for you Chloe?"

Chloe merely offered Sam the same kind of smirk. "I'm going to get claimed first."

"We'll see about that." Sam replied.

"Ok, but before we go, let's make a pact." Isla said, "That no matter what happens, the three of us will continue to be friends."

"Even if our godly parents happen to hate each other." Sam said.

"Especially if we all end up getting romantic with these heroes." Chloe said, giving Sam an accusatory glance.

Sam frowned at Chloe as Isla resisted a laugh. "Alright, I'll see you guys later." Isla said as soon as she could stop laughing.

Chloe saluted both Isla and Sam before dashing away.

Ok… now, who would be my godly parent? Chloe thought to herself as she looked at the cabins. Obviously, mine's going to be the best. They're going to be- OMG Are they going to race?

Chloe looked ahead to see several kids lined up around a circular track. They were stretching and all were dressed in athletic attire. With the thought of finding her godly parent out of her mind, Chloe ran towards the track and waved at the kids there.

The first kid to see Chloe was a girl with dark brown hair, on the verge of black. She stepped forward to Chloe as the kids behind her watched. She held her hand up to Chloe and said "Who are you?"

"Chloe Patts." Chloe said excitedly, "Are you about to race? Can I join you?"

The girl nodded, then looked to an older girl who nodded at the girl. "Well, Chloe. I suppose you could join us." She said with a shrug, then winked at her. "If you don't mind losing."

"Oh no you didn't." Chloe said, "I'm going to win this race."

"You wish." The girl replied, "One time around the track. Winner gets twenty bucks."

Chloe set up on the starting line and looked at the girl she had been talking to. "I'll give you a head start, you know. Just to keep things fair."

"Can I get your name?" Chloe said.

"I'm Maria." The girl replied.

"Good, so I know who I'm going to be serving my dust to."

"ON YOUR MARK!"

Chloe placed her hands on the ground and her hips in the air.

"GET SET!"

Chloe lowered her back and began to get ready to sprint. Seeing this, Maria quickly followed Maria's routine. She had just lowered her back as the gun was fired and Chloe took off like a bullet fired from a gun.

Chloe sprinted faster than she had ever done in her life, her years on her high school track team serving her well as she quickly opened up the distance between her and the kids behind her.

Chloe was practically leaping with each bound. Her pace grew faster and faster as she left Maria behind and before anyone knew it, she had completed a full lap around the track. She stopped and looked behind her just as Maria, in disbelief, crossed the finish line behind her. She then promptly put her hands on her knees and said "I never… I never thought…. How can you run so fast?!"

"Four years on the track team." Chloe said, "I was the fastest girl in the state of Indianapolis, you know where the Indy 500 is?"

"That's not the only reason." A boy said, "Look!"

The boy pointed above Chloe's head. Chloe looked up just in time to see a laurel wreath of victory over her head fade away. She smiled at the other people in the race and was surprised when Maria threw her arms around her.

"Welcome to the family Chloe." Maria said as she let get, "You're going to fit in just fine."

Chloe smiled, then said "Anyone want to go again, double or nothing?"

"I bet sixty bucks that you can't get around this track in five minutes." One Nike camper said.

"I bet in favor of Chloe!" Another one called out.

"I bet she can do it in four!" A third said. Suddenly, all the Nike campers were arguing about how fast Chloe can run the mile-long track.

Chloe smiled and said "I bet I can run this track in four minutes." Chloe said, "Anyone who wants to protest can add their cash to the victory pool. If I win, I'll get all the proceeds. If I fail, I'll-"

"She'll have to wear a hot pink poke-a-dot swimsuit the entire day tomorrow." Maria said quickly.

Chloe on Maria as the entire Nike cabin cheered in agreement. Maria then smiled at Chloe, causing Chloe to sense a new rival had just entered her life.

Chloe said "Fine, but if I win, you have to skinny dip in the lake."

Another cheer from the Nike cabin caused Maria to look at her cabin in disbelief, then back at Maria. "Deal." Maria said.

Chloe then went back to the starting line. "Who's got a stop watch?"

"I do." Maria said.

"Give it to someone else." Chloe said.

Once the stop watch was given to someone who had nothing to lose, Chloe heard the camper release her to run. Chloe sprinted forward. The thought of her wearing a pink swimsuit, which in all honesty was probably something like a bikini, plagued her mind and urged her to sprint faster.

Upon completing her lap, Chloe was out of breath. She looked at the watch keeper who smiled maliciously as he read the time outloud.

"Four minutes." Chloe was about to breath with relief as the time keeper continued "And 1 second."

Those who bet against Chloe cheered as Maria smiled at Chloe. "Well, I guess that means I win." She said.

Well… at least it'll be cool Chloe thought to herself. "I don't have a swimsuit though."

"Don't worry, I'll let you borrow one." Maria said.

"Oh joy." Chloe said sarcastically as she looked at the ground and kicked her feet.

A bet is a bet after all.
