Fear

Feeling completely heartbroken, Victoria went back to the Manor and shut herself in her room. All she could do was cry. Her husband was a monster and she couldn't escape him.

2h before:

Victoria left her favorite shoe's store in the city and made her way to the parking lot. She was hungry and she'd planned a special dinner with David later. She spotted her car, realizing it was the only one still parked. It was dark, so she hurried.

She opened the door and sat by the wheel. A scream of terror came out of her throat as she saw a man on the back seat. It was Frank.

-I'm sorry to scare you like this, Victoria. I wont hurt you, I promise. –he said, his tone smooth.

-Frank! What are yoo doing here? –her voice was barely audible.

-I came to give you a warning. Conrad knows you're having an affair.

-There's no affair. –her hands trambled. – And why are you saying this?

-I have enough evidence to prove otherwise. There's no point denying int. He just doesn't know with whom it is you're with. –he hesitated and took a deep breath –I'm here because I care about you. –she laughed nervous. She'd always suspected Frank had feelings for her, but she'd never imagine he'd open up about it. After all, he was her husband's right arm. Besides, after stalking her and collecting evidence of her romance with David, it seemed insane that he'd expect any kind of reciprocity from her part.

-And what does that have to d with anything? –she said, surly. –Conrad has nothing to worry about. – after turning the ignition, the car left the parking lot.

-That's where you're wrong. You and David are the ones with a motive to be worried.

She squeezed the steering wheel hard, holding her breath. Frank stood quiet for a moment, wondering if it would be the right thing to tell her or not.

-Just tell me why! Or are you here for nothing?

- Victoria... Conrad told me to discover who your lover is and then kill him.

The car turned abruptly, leaving the road and, abruptly, stopping over the grass. Her arms were stiff, her eyes wide and no air came inside her lungs. Frank faced her serious.

-W...Why are you letting me know? What the hell do you want? –she tried as hard as she could to sound firm, but her voice cracked.

-I already told you why. I care about you and I don't want you to suffer. –his eyes were on hers, through the mirror. He had loved her for so long. His own boss had his suspicions, but he never thought Victoria could look at him that way, so he never gave it any importance. –Conrad doesn't know you're with David, but as soon as I deliver the evidence I have in hands, he'll tell me to finish the job.

-So, you won't obey him?

-Unless you terminate your relationship, I'll have to preoceed with my assignment. –Secretly, that was what Frank wished for. He felt jealous of her and, in the logic of an assassin, killing her lover would be, not only pleasurable, but, also, an objective solution. –If you end things with him, I'll tell Conrad that I couldn't find any proof of you cheating. –For Frank, Victoria's happiness was far more important than his loyalty to Conrad.

She punched the wheel, as her eyes filled up with tears. She put the car back on track and made her way back home, driving fast. N words could come out of her mouth.

-I'm expecting to make contact with Mr. Grayson in 2 hours. You can leave me on the corner. Proceed as you wish. -So she did and continued to follow toward Grayson Manor.

David's phone rang, but nobody answered. At the sight of the mansion, she could not bring herself to park and continued at high speed until she reached the end of the beach. The last thing she wanted was to break up with David, but she had to do it. After coming out of the vehicle, she began walking along the shore without knowing where she was going. When he realized, she could see the beach house and David watching the sea. It was time to finish everything. For his own sake. She would never forgive herself if something happened to him, because she was too selfish to end things.
