And a small warning: This is a more serious chapter instead of fluff, but FLUFF SHALL RETURN NEXT CHAPTER!

Oh yeah.

Elesis: Blazing Heart as of Chapter 3.

"E-Eve!" Chung choked out, cars honking everywhere as he shook the Nasod's body. Eve weakly opened her eyes a little, the light in her amber eyes dim. The pavement around them was splattered with crimson blood as the truck driver honked at them in an obvious show of agitation. The Deadly Chaser clutched the Code Nemesis's frail body, tears spilling out unheeded. The Code Nemesis merely flashed a rare smile unique to her normal, blunt personality.

"It feels great… to be able to protect someone…" She sighed softly, content. Chung sobbed even harder, holding her close to him. Eve gently linked their bloody hands together, her eyes starting to close.

"I was able to protect someone…" She murmured with a mix of emotions in her voice ranging from happiness to emotionless, before darkness finally took over as she fell limp in his dirtied arms.

Chung's mouth parted slightly, his bangs hiding his cerulean eyes, unbelieving in what just happened. He shook her unmoving figure a few times in desperation and despair, before collapsing in a pitiful mess of tears in the middle of the street as he buried his head in her broken and battered body.

Aisha wasn't able to watch any more of the scene before her as she hid her face in Elsword's chest, unable to stop the tears from overflowing as she quietly cried.

Raven looked at the floor silently, his face grim as he clutched Rena's hand while Ara cried with Aisha.

Elesis ran out of the restaurant and saw what happened as she put her hands over her mouth, absolutely flabbergasted.

Rena felt tears brimming at her eyes as she softly loosened Raven's grip on her, then began to walk towards Chung, her hand reaching out for assistance and most of all support… until they heard an especially loud honk coming from the culprit truck driver.

"Oi, oi move! We in rush hour, eh?! Save your sob story for later, boy!" The truck driver yelled at Chung.

The male shook and trembled, his face concealed by the locks of his stained hair until he glared daggers at the truck driver and summoned one of his Silver Shooters, pointing it up in the air while his other hand held Eve. Rena had an instinct she knew what was going to happen, and fell back as she got the group to stand back away from Chung with haste, who was staring at the truck driver in the eyes with dull orbs filled to the brim with malice.

"F-Fuck you…" He gasped weakly, tears still pouring down.

He placed Eve's body on his lap gently, careful not to harm her already battered body even more.

"SHARP SHOOTER SYNDROME!"

"Get them to the ICU, now!"

"Yes ma'am!"

Stretchers raced across the hallways of the hospital as Chung and Eve were rushed towards the Intensive Care Unit, their friends tailing the apparatuses which held the injured. Doctors with their lower faces covered by a surgeon mask ushered the two into the area, and Rena followed in pursuit before the rest of the group ended up being forced out by nurses.

Suddenly, a certain Rune Slayer jutted out from the saddened group and screamed, trying to push through the professionals in despair. However, they seemed to understand this was normal as they just grabbed him by the arms and dragged him to the waiting room. The elf managed to make it inside, due to knowing ancient elven spells to heal individuals. Elesis unwillingly walked away from the giant iron doors, hearing a clamor of voices yelling over each other in a hurry.

"He's losing blood! Get the blood packs!"

"Airelinna!"

"Hurry up! The respirators!"

The Blazing Heart solemnly looked down towards the ground, suddenly finding her new boots very intriguing. It was like getting repeatedly stabbed in the chest, watching her brother just break down like dominoes. Following the others, Elesis left the section, completely unaware that a figure emerged into view outside the window, an amethyst eye glowing radiantly with a malicious ambience. A nefarious cackle escaped its lips as the figure shrouded by darkness turned around and disappeared from view.

The wait for the results of the doctors' efforts was torturous.

Aisha sat on the ground, her legs tucked under her as her dull violet eyes drooped. She bit the bottom of her lip, anxious for Chung and Eve's safety.

Ara was making paper airplanes, writing something on them before folding it and placing them on the table. Tears were brimming at her eyes, and the airplanes were starting to pile over one another in a mountain-like shape.

Raven stood there, motionless as he looked out the window. He had not known this group of people for long, but the gloomy aura was enough for him to understand their pain.

Elesis put a hand on Elsword's head, comfortingly ruffling his hair as she held a look of concern at his figure. Her brother was absolutely pitiful at the moment. His eyes were red from grossly sobbing so much, and his bright crimson eyes turned into bleak, emotionless orbs. His hair covered one of his eyes and shaded the other. The redhead's eyes darted towards the clock and the door, and when he didn't see or hear anyone coming his eyes would shift towards the floor in dejection. After a couple of minutes he would do the same process all over again.

Summary of how everyone was feeling: Absolutely terrible.

However, the agonizing wait finally ended when Rena came in with a relieved expression on her face, her hand on her chest with a smile on her face. Crimson, violet, golden, and orange eyes shot towards her. She looked at them all and pronounced the verdict of the situation.

"Chung is safe. He just needs a week's worth of sleep." Small smiles started to be exchanged across the waiting area, until Elsword spoke up.

"What about Eve?"

The elf's smile melted into a frown of remorse.

"…She's fine, but we don't know when she'll wake up." She whispered.

An eerie aura filled the room again as smiles turned into worried murmurs. Elsword froze, his eyes wide in disbelief. His fingers trembled, and he was as pale as chalk. Rena looked away, fiddling with her fingers as the silence settled in.

"We can start visiting them in a week." She quietly uttered. Someone cleared their throat, and heads snapped towards the culprit.

"We must not think so negatively now. The least we can do for them is fill in what they will miss in their academics, news, and anything that would be needed once they wake up whilst supporting the two to recovery. We have to be optimistic about this." Raven spoke all of this with a perfectly straight face, his eyes completely pensive. Everyone thought about this, and Rena smiled sadly.

"Raven's right. As Chung and Eve's friends we should do what we can for when they should—no, when they WILL wake up." In an attempt to encourage her sullen friends, she gave everyone a cheerful smile and balled her hands into fists by her side.

Aisha slowly gave a small smile back and nodded, and Ara at least stopped folding another paper airplane. The airplanes were starting to get a bit excessive at this point, too. Elesis managed to brighten up a bit, but Elsword was unconvinced. He looked at her doubtingly, before sighing in defeat.

"A week's a long time." Elsword groaned.

"Time flies." Thanks to Raven's little speech, Rena was back to being the optimistic elf she usually was. With a bright smile, she made a peace sign.

"Chung and Eve will be fine. Now, let's all get some rest and sleep, okay?" She received murmurs of agreement and tiny nods in reply, as they gradually began to get up and leave the hospital. Ara had to ask for a plastic bag to stuff all of her paper airplanes in before leaving. Ara looked over at Eve after Elesis dragged Elsword by force and a lot of swearing on the Rune Slayer's part.

"Thanks, Rena." She hid her mouth behind the bag, before hastily leaving. Rena just smiled, and went after the ebony-haired girl full whom was full of shyness to go to her own home, too.

Beep… beep…

"C-Chung? Chung, are you awake?" A soft voice welcomed the Deadly Chaser back to reality as he blearily opened his eyes, blinking a few times to get spots out of his eyes.

He was in a simple, white room with a flat-screen TV in front of him, and silk curtains of a light pink draped around the window frame to his right. The window revealed a skyline view of Hamel and showed him that it was daytime. Maybe about 10 in the morning. Behind the television was a shelf filled with all types of medicine with various colors and labels. He was on a hospital bed, connected to a couple of machines. One was monitoring his heart and blood rate, which were the reasons why he heard the beeping when he awakened. Groaning, Chung tried to sit up only for the owner of the soft voice to grasp him lightly by his shoulders, which was enough to make him lie back down. He turned his head and noticed ebony locks and worried but bright orange eyes. Ara Haan. The Sakra Devanam looked at him with an expression clearly showing worry and concern.

"…Hi." She awkwardly began, quickly putting her hands behind her back.

"Hey." He replied. Chung lifted the sheets covering his body, and flinched. Bandages were wrapped around half of his torso, and both of his ankles bandaged with plain white cloth as well as his arms from the elbow to the wrist. The bandages were all fresh, implying that they were recently changed. Ara shied away quietly, her gaze shifting from him to the flat-screen TV and Chung concluded that she was the one that changed them based on how she fidgeted around and avoided eye contact.

"Thanks, Ara." He said through the silence, lightly forcing a smile. Ara bowed her head down a bit, blushing in embarrassment.

"I-It's no problem. Brother Aren taught me a bit of medical treatment. B-But it was really Rena who healed you." Chung slowly nodded his head. But there was one thing on his mind that he HAD to ask.

"Where's Eve?" Ara visibly cowered away at the question. She started to fidget with her fingers and tap her foot anxiously, orange eyes shooting from place to place in insecurity.

"A-Ah… I'm not sure if I should tell you…" She shakily answered, her voice barely above a whisper. He narrowed his eyes, his lips twitching to a frown.

"Why not?" He put a little force into his question, though maybe he shouldn't have done that. She squeaked and took a few steps back, sealing her eyes shut in fear.

"I-I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I'm so so sorry!" Ara cried out, jutting her arms out in front of her as if she was expecting to get hit. The door suddenly creaked, and both of the people in the room turned their heads to look at the newcomer. An elven woman with spring green hair tied into a pony-tail, with a rather sylvan aura around her. Rena. Her nature-green eyes focused on Chung as soon as she lay eyes on him being awake.

"You finally woke up. Do you know how long you have been asleep, Chung?" She asked, her voice grave instead of the usual cheery and upbeat one. Chung shook his head in confusion, and Rena sighed in exasperation, running a slender hand through her hair before breaking the news to him.

"Chung, you've slept for a whole week. You have any idea know how much you missed at school?" She grimly asked, as Chung looked away while biting his lip in shame. The stern and motherly look on Rena's face that children would usually read as 'she-is-so-mad-at-me' melted into a gentle and sympathetic expression as she noticed how he reacted. Walking over to him, she put a hand on his shoulder.

"...We'll help you make up for it though. I overheard a bit of your conversation with Ara, so… do you want to see her?" Rena softly asked. Chung didn't meet eye contact and simply nodded, as Rena went out of his room to get a wheelchair.

Ara was hiding behind the desk next to his bedside, her eyes peeking out only from curiosity but she was trembling, for her knuckles grasping the edge of the desk were pale. The Deadly Chaser wondered why she was so scared of everything.

Was there something behind her being like this? Or was she just a great actress?

Before he could ponder on the topic some more, the elven woman came back with a wheelchair and helped him get on, as she pushed him around the hospital with Ara silently following behind, averting her gaze from his figure. Her ebony locks hid her eyes, so he couldn't tell what her facial expression was. Eventually, they arrived at a polished oak wooden door, and Rena reached over to swing open the door. Her slender hand stopped in its tracks when she heard someone crying, and she recoiled. A boy was crying, and she took a peek in the small window provided. She backed away in shock, covering her mouth with one hand as she gestured Ara to take Chung back. Chung looked around, confused as Ara nodded and grabbed the edges of his wheelchair.

"What's—"

Then he heard a voice.

"Eve… when are you going to wake up?"

It was that red-head who looked like a playboy, Elsword. Chung wanted to put his ear to the door and listen some more, but Ara pushed him away in haste, her biting the bottom of her lip. So he allowed himself to be escorted back to his hospital room, but he couldn't deny the lingering feeling of curiosity and wonder at what seemed to be going on. Not to mention…

He still wanted to see Eve.

Rena continued listening after telling Ara to take Chung back to his room with a gesture of the hand. She put her back against the bleak white wall, and silently listened.

"Maybe if I just made you stay back before crossing the street a little longer, you wouldn't be here in this stupid room connected to these stupid machines. I—Maybe Aisha is right. I am an idiot, after all. I'm a dork. A bastard. An ungrateful little bastard. I wasn't glad you were my best friend. I just went out talking with other girls… if only I could just rewind time. But then again, we all wish that at one point in time, don't we? Heh, this is really pathetic of me. Talking to someone who's sleeping and probably won't be able to hear everything that I'm saying. It's really, really sad."

More sniffling and crying.

Rena heard a sound of something hitting against the bed and she dared take a peek at the window. She saw a Rune Slayer with his head down on the edge of a Code Nemesis's bed, crying his eyes out miserably as his sobs echoed in the dull room. Eve's eyes were closed, as if she were only sleeping. The sheets were tucked all the way up to her neck, and her silver locks framed her face. There was a bandage on her cheek, and some were wrapped around her head.

Rena decided with finality that now wasn't the greatest hour to visit Eve, so she turned around and began her slow walk towards Chung's room. Clutching her chest tightly, the elf's head was bowed down as tears brimmed her eyes.

If only, if only. How Rena wished everything could settle back to normal. She wasn't ready to give up her matchmaking schematics yet, but this taught her she ought to be careful when trying to pull something off. She looked around absent mindedly, unsure of what to do next. Put her schematics to a hold or continue as soon as they recover? A tap on her shoulder caused the woman to snap out of her daze and turn around, only to notice a certain man with piercing golden eyes staring at her. She recognized who it was at first glance.

"R-Raven. Do you need something?" Rena inquired, albeit quite hastily.

"Everything's going to be okay. Eve is going to make it, right?" A rare smile graced Raven's face.

"E-Err, according to the doctors, yeah." The elf stuttered for once.

"Then she will make it." He reassured. Rena gasped, her mouth making a small 'o' in surprise of seeing Raven with such a comforting smile. That was all the Blade Master did before he turned around, stiffly walking away.

Leaving behind a gaping and for once, speechless Rena.

The only appropriate word that could describe Elsword at the moment was miserable.

He truly felt guilty that Eve got hit by that truck driver, even if he was already told thousands of times it wasn't his fault for he did not have any sort of involvement in the incident and that she was going to make it. Yet Elsword, being the idiot he was, ignored and continued to grieve. Chung had woken up, he heard the sound of a wheelchair outside and Raven had unflinchingly bluntly stated that Chung was awake before leaving. For the most popular male in Elrios High, the guy sure was quiet. Yet Elsword honestly could not care less at the moment. Continuing to let out his bottled emotions on Eve's bed, he sobbed loudly until tears just wouldn't come out of his eyes. Sighing, the Rune Slayer finally got up.

"Here's to another day of nothing." He muttered to himself. Elsword thought about leaving to check up on Chung for a little bit, but decided to watch his best friend for a few more minutes. Chung was just fine, unlike his favorite frosty Nasod. He turned back towards Eve, who was still unconscious. She was breathing unevenly, and each breath was ragged. Walking over to her bedside, he sat next to her again like usual. It felt like an eternity waiting for her to wake up. She had to wake up.

"E-Elsword, may I come in?" A shy and quiet voice came from outside as three knocks were made. He looked and saw Ara.

"Y-Yeah. Come in." He shakily spoke. Now he wanted to slap himself for sounding so weak. The door opened and revealed the ebonette, who tried to casually walk in by keeping a straight face and crossing her arms, leaning on the door frame for a start only to trip and fall flat on her face. He scratched the back of his head, unsure of what to do about her little accident. She heaved herself up swiftly, rubbing her head and muttering a few 'owies' before she fully stood up and trudged over towards Elsword and Eve. Her face was grim as she bit the bottom of her lip in anxiety and put a hand over the orb on the Nasod's head. Ara wordlessly looked out the window, strangely concerned for Eve more than he thought. The serious look on her face made Elsword wonder if her shyness was real or not.

"Elsword…"

She turned towards him. There was a strange light in her eyes.

"Eve didn't pick the Nemesis Code for nothing. It is okay to be worried, but you've been in this mopey mood for a week. She will get better, so… relax." The Rune Slayer eyed the Sakra Devanam anxiously, skeptical of her actions at the moment. She noticed this and just opened the window, leaning on it as a gust of wind blew her hair to the side, giving an aura of elegance.

"You know, breezes make Eve look really pretty. She really likes the feeling of wind on her, too." Ara continued on, watching for Elsword's reaction at the corner of her eye. He stiffened up a little, and watched her warily with insecurity. Her face remained blank, not showing even the vaguest signs or clues of anything. A hoarse sound came out of the redhead's lips, and the ebony-haired woman turned around a bit more.

"How are you so sure of all of this?" Elsword had a small idea of what Ara was getting at, and he wasn't too sure if he'd like it or not. Ara simply flashed him a genuine smile.

"I just do."

Having the last word, Ara removed herself from the window and walked out of the room, putting a hand on Elsword's shoulder and giving it a pat before leaving. Despite the recent events days before, Elsword's left eye twitched with slight annoyance at being unable to get answers. Then he felt his stomach rumble, and sighed. He totally forgot about food. Elesis was going to become a worry-wart if he didn't get any food soon. If it wasn't Elesis, leave the job to Rena to force-feed him food with a silver spoon combined with a demonic smile. Elsword would rather not be fed by either one of them. So he got up, and exited the hospital room rather grudgingly to get a bite of food. He flicked the light off, closing the door silently behind him. The quiet beeping of the hospital machines echoed through the room, and a pale finger twitched on the snow-white bed sheets.

Visiting hours at the hospital were over and done with. People were being ushered out by nurses, as a stream of people exited the towering building known as Hamel Hospital.

Ara was the last one to walk out of the hospital, the large lights in the building still shining through the windows. The area was practically deserted, and she put a hand to her chest. In a flash of sakura blossoms, an elegant ornamental spear materialized into the palm of her free hand. She looked around her, checking her surroundings to make sure no one was following her. After securing the fact that no one was keeping an eye on her, Ara walked into the maze of trees that lay behind the hospital. Jumping over the fence which was made to blockade people, darkness eventually consumed her area of view. Ara was surprisingly calm walking through the forest. It was as if she had experience in this area. Suddenly, the ebony-haired woman tensed up. She gripped her spear tighter, amber eyes darting around in alarm. Feeling a familiar aura near the bushes and trees, her face melted from the usual innocent face to a battle-hardened grimace. Twirling her spear a couple of times, Ara readied her spear and called out.

"I know you're here..."

A rustle from a nearby tree.

"Add Kim."

A figure emerged from the shadows, one eye glowing with a deadly effulgence. Ara glared daggers at the figure as it removed its hood to reveal a handsome young man with pure white hair and crazed amethyst eyes. He chuckled at her, walking towards her daringly.

"How's your little cutesy and shy act keeping up, Haan?" He bowed mockingly towards her.

"To give you a chance, I'll politely ask you to leave Hamel this instant." Ara calmly answered his sarcastic performance. He reeled back a little, but not while a playful smirk danced on his features.

"Catty, aren't you?" Add casually stuck his hands in his pockets, an insane smile starting to grow instead of the playful smirk.

"I liked you better when you weren't insane for Eve." Ara bluntly murmured, though her voice started to have a bitter tone in it. The spear-wielder took action quickly, spinning around while pivoting her spear and in mere seconds she was pointing her spear at his throat. His smile just grew even bigger.

"You could have picked to ally with me, Ara Haan. We could have been an unstoppable force. Yet you choose to stand with this so-called 'justice' and prevent the most inevitable thing in Elrios. My goal… is the true meaning of justice." A wretched laugh escaped from his lips as he raised his hands and began cackling insanely to the sky, his uproarious laughter echoing around the forest. Ara did not budge a bit.

"Stealing Eve's codes is not justice, Add. You've changed." She composedly replied. Immediately his malicious laughs turned into a spiteful sneer as Ara finished her words.

"And who's to say that putting up a façade and passing yourself off to dear Eve as a little fidgety cutie friend is considered justice?" He questioned her. Ara hesitated, obviously taken back by his vindictive response. Add just sneered and lowered her spear with a gloved hand, walking around her in a circle like a lion observing its' prey.

"Wake up and face reality, Ara. Eve's codes… they're going to be MINE ONE DAY AND YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!" His dangerously derisive tone slowly changed into a voluminous bellow. Ara covered her ears from the intense volume. A reticent silence ensued after that, and into the tense air the Sakra Devanam quietly answered.

"…You've been having volume practice haven't you?"

"Yeah. Watch this." Add took a deep breath, and let out a high-pitched note so loud that birds flew away from their respective trees, cawing curses at his voice. Some birds even just fell down to the ground, motionless. Ara covered her ears. Eventually, the screech died down and he evened his gaze with her.

"I'm told I could make a good soprano. Do I make a good soprano?"

"I-If you tried, sure. But I highly doubt you'd try for singing. I'll say that you've gotten better at being crazy loud, though." The ebonette's ears were still ringing from his demonstration.

"Thanks. Now where were we?" Add was met with a spear once more at his throat, and an Ara who was glaring once more at him.

"Eve's codes. In the name of justice… I'll make sure you never get them." She threatened, the tip of her spear glinting in the pale moonlight with a deadly glow as she pressed it against his neck. Add cackled again, that same insane laughter that would have given the average person the creeps.

"Kekekekeke! You're funny, Ara. Such confidence in yourself will just make an opening for myself… I pity you." He flashed her a malicious smile.

"I will make sure Eve's codes are in my hands. Not even you can stop me, Ara." With a flick of his hand, his Nasod Dynamos flew and knocked the spear away from the Sakra Devanam's hands. He put a finger under her chin and lifted her head up, her defiant orange eyes filled with pure hatred. A brilliant light suddenly emitted from his figure as Ara covered her eyes. She stumbled back, shielding her eyes from the radiance. When it faded away Ara looked again and noticed that Add Kim was gone, vanished. Her confused apricot eyes turned into determined orbs as she swiftly turned around and walked back to the hospital, a new resolve found within her.

No matter what… I have to protect Eve! As long as she's safe… Add, I will stop you!

And so Add the Soprano Opera Singer is now in the fray. I had to fit in Add some way, besides the transfer student card.
