When they stepped into the lair, the first thing they heard was a scream. A bone wracking scream. Splinter took off towards the infirmary, with Astrid hot on his heels.
When they got in, they saw Raph holding down Mikey, and Leo and Donnie attempting to inject him with some sort of shot.
"What is going on here!?" Master Splinter's powerful voice boomed throughout the room, silencing the brothers at once.
"Well, you see-" Donnie started.
"Mikey is delirious." Raph stated bluntly. "We're trying to get him to calm down, but, so far, it isn't working. Any ideas?"
Astrid lightly walked forward until she was at Mikey's bed.
"Mikey, shh. It's okay. Nobody is going to hurt you. What's wrong, sweetie?" She asked him, noting his dilated pupils and rapid breathing rate. That was not good.
"The sedatives should have kept him asleep until tomorrow morning! Why aren't they working?" She asked herself.
The doctor stroked Mikey's shoulder soothingly, gently.
He cried out, terrified. "Why do you let the spiders on your face? Why? They-they're EATING you!" He screamed, and tears ran down his face.
She talked to him soothingly while preparing a needle with sedatives away from his eyes.
"It's ok. Mikey, I know you may not understand this right now, but you're hallucinating. It's all right." Swiftly she slid the needle into his skin, injecting him with the sedatives. They worked almost immediately. Raph caught his baby brother's head as it fell back.
Now that ordeal was over, the doctor looked over the room. It was around ten feet wide, and probably about seventeen feet long. Plenty of room for the instruments she needed to get this teen back to health. Mikey was on an 'upgraded' hospital bed, as she called it. It was a mattress that was actually somewhat comfortable, and could be adjusted by pressing a button.
There was enough light for her to work, and there was a cot set up in the corner. She smiled softly.
They were taking good care of their brother.
"Ok." She stated. "What happened?"
All of the turtles started talking at once.
She held up a hand, and pointed to Raph. "You, and only you, explain. Go."
Raph looked cornered, like a deer in headlights. "Ok, so we were unloading Mikey from the van, easy does it, when he shifted. Don said it was probably nothing, just a bad dream or nothing."
Donnie made a face at him. Despite herself, Astrid's mouth twitched.
"So, we got him settled into the bed, and all those machines set up when he started screaming. I tell ya, lady, they were not fun. He started screaming something about spiders and bugs. Freaked me the heck out!"
Delirious, and the sedatives wore off. Obviously he was going to need a bigger dose.
"Ok. I'll take care of him."
