Hi :) Sorry for the long delay. I've had assignments to do and a lot going on. I've had a bit of a rotten time in the house I was sharing with five other girls, so I've moved into a flat on my own (stressful, but it's a lot better now) and then on Christmas Eve my house was flooded. So it's been a bit hectic lately, but here's an update :D

Chapter Four

Babysitting the Twins

"Thank you so much for this. You have no idea how much it means." Bella gave the Blacks a grateful smile as she nervously brushed her hair.

Hermione grinned as she tickled EJ. "It's fine. So how much are you going to tell Charlie?"

Bella sighed. "Everything."

"I'm just glad that bullets can't hurt me." Edward gave a wry chuckle.

"I'm just worried that he'll have a heart attack." Bella bit her lip.

Edward rubbed her shoulders comfortingly. "He'll be fine. He's stronger than you think he is. Besides, if anything goes wrong Billy and Sam are there."

"He'll listen to Dad. They're best friends." Jacob chimed in as he entered the living room with Nessie.

"Come on, we're going to be late." Edward told Bella.

Bella nodded and gave each of her children a kiss on the cheek and gave Hermione and Jacob a hug.

The couple waved as they slipped out of the front door and left the witch and the shape shifter alone in the Cullen's house with their children.

"I think that went well." Hermione mused, putting EJ on the floor beside his sister and the colouring books that Rosalie had bought for them.

"I think she's got a lot on her mind to worry about the babies too." Jacob chuckled, sitting down on the sofa.

Hermione sat down next to him, curling her legs up beside her and resting her dead on his shoulder. The couple sat in silence watching as the little boy and girl coloured the pictures in furiously.

Nessie got to her feet and toddled over to Hermione and Jacob. She handed them the picture of the princess and prince she had been colouring in. The prince had reddish brown skin and black hair while the princess was fair with brown hair. Nessie giggled and touched Hermione's hand. Images filled the witch's head of herself and Jacob cuddling and laughing. The little girl then pointed at the picture.

Hermione blushed and smiled, kissing the little girl on the cheek. "Thank you, sweetheart."

"What did she show you?" Jacob leaned forward curiously.

"This is us." Hermione handed the picture over.

Jacob grinned and scooped the little girl up, blowing a raspberry on her cheek. "Thank you, Nessie Monster. That was very nice of you."

Nessie laughed and wriggled. When Jacob set her down she went back to the colouring books and sat down next to EJ. EJ pushed a picture towards her and gave her a crayon. Nessie took them and began to colour in the picture he'd given her.

"They get on so well." Hermione muttered.

Jacob smirked. "For now. Wait till they realise that they want their own things or space. Me and my sisters never got on that well."

Hermione nudged his side. "Maybe they won't grow out of it. The Weasley twins were really close, and I don't think I ever saw them argue."

"Maybe not when they were older, but I bet they did when they were younger. It's part of being a kid."

"But Nessie and EJ aren't like other kids, are they? Maybe they'll skip that phase as part of the way they mature faster mentally."

Jacob tilted his head watching as the twins coloured peacefully side by side. "Hmm, maybe. I'd be surprised if they did though."

Hermione chuckled. "And you're an expert on children are you?"

Jacob smirked. "I could be."

"If you say so. Mind you, you are a big kid so it wouldn't surprise me."

Jacob stuck his tongue out and tickled her sides. Hermione giggled and squirmed, trying to avoid his fingers. She begged for him to stop, but he didn't relent.

"Say you're sorry."

"I'm sorry." Hermione panted.

Jacob stopped and kissed her quickly before settling back down in his seat while Hermione tried to catch her breath. Hermione shook her head affectionately and snuggled back into his side.

EJ walked over to them with a film in his hands. He thrust it towards them and gave a big grin.

'Can we watch this?'

Jacob lent forward and took the film from him, studying the cover. He gave a kind smile and nodded.

"I love Finding Nemo."

The twins shrieked in delight and scrabbled to get up on the sofa either side of the baby-sitting couple. Jacob put the film in the DVD player and Hermione waved her wand, closing the curtains and summoning some popcorn from the kitchen. Jacob seated himself next to Hermione and wrapped his arm around her. Nessie snuggled into his side and he rested his arm on her back, and EJ settled himself so his head was on Hermione's lap. Hermione leant her head onto Jacob's shoulder and sighed happily. Jacob placed a kiss to Hermione's head and they settled down to watch the film.

"Daddy!"

Jacob smiled as a little boy with brown hair and his skin tone jumped on him. His wild curls fell into his dark brown eyes and his chubby cheeks creased with the massive grin on his handsome face.

"Daddy, come play."

Jacob allowed the little boy to pull him out of the Black Cabin and out into the sunshine. Sitting in the garden wearing a white peasant blouse and skirt was Hermione. Her hair was pulled back by a clip and her hand was resting on the swell of her pregnant stomach. She spotted her husband and son and smiled beautifully.

Under a tree, two girls of about eleven stood opposite each other brandishing wands at each other. Light swirled around them and illuminated their faces. One had pale skin with black curls and amber eyes while the other had pale russet skin with a dusting of freckles across her cheeks, under her dark brown eyes, and straight golden brown locks.

They turned when they saw Jacob and the boy and stopped playing with their magic. The girls rushed over to him and hugged him tightly, laughing.

"Daddy's coming to play." The little boy declared.

"Yay!" The girls giggled.

Jacob allowed himself to be led over to the middle of the garden and closed his eyes. "One…two…three…."

He could hear the frantic scrambling of the children to get away from him and smiled to himself. Once he reached ten, he took his hands away and looked around. Hermione was still sat on the blanket and she was fighting a grin. He spotted a little foot sticking out from behind her back.

He winked at her and began to move away from her.

"Where, oh where are they all?" He called in an exaggerated tone.

The boy behind Hermione giggled and Hermione shushed him.

Glancing up, Jacob spotted the dark haired girl hiding in the tree. "Found you!"

The girl nimbly leapt down and joined him in the search. They found her sister hiding behind a bush. Jacob smirked and waved them over to Hermione. He slowly approached and then pounced on the boy.

"Found you! You won!" He cried.

The boy giggled and Jacob turned to look at Hermione who was watching him with a face full of love.

"Jacob."

Her voice echoed and he frowned a little.

"Jacob."

"Jacob!"

Jacob sat bolt upright and locked eyes with his wife. The screen behind her was playing the credits. He rubbed his hand over his face and frowned.

"What happened?"

"You fell asleep at the start of the film." Hermione told him, her voice affectionate.

"Oh." He stretched. "Did the kids like it?"

Hermione chuckled. "They fell asleep too."

Jacob looked down to see a sleeping Nessie still curled into his side. He smiled warmly and gently pulled her onto his lap. He stood carefully and watched as Hermione did the same with EJ.

The couple took the toddlers upstairs and into the nursery that had been added to Bella and Jacob's room. Alice had decorated it and it was a cheery yellow colour with a teddy bear border. Two cribs stood opposite each other in the middle of the room and each had a mobile hanging above them. One had stars and unicorns, while the other had spaceships and moons so it was easy to tell which baby went in which crib.

Jacob led Nessie in her crib and looked down at her. He couldn't shake the image of the girls and the little boy with wild curls. He had loved the image of Hermione rounded with his child, and he just couldn't get rid of it.

He looked over as his wife gently stroked the little boy's cheek and smiled to himself. One day, they would have their own child and he knew she would make a wonderful mother. He was actually looking forward to it.
