This chapter might be shorter because it is mostly just the Gym battle. Hope you enjoy.
The duo had finally reached Pewter City. This plays was famous for rocks, yep, rocks, as if that is something to be famous for. After visiting the Pokemon center they entered the Gym.
"So you've come to challenge me." Said a voice from the other side of the arena.
"Yes, I have come to win the Boulder Badge."
"Very well then," Brock stepped out of the shadows, "Geodude, attack!"
The rock with arms landed on the arena.
"Squirtle, use Water Gun!" Squirtle shot water at Geodude sending it flying against the wall.
"Impressive, but that was just the warm up. ONIX GO!" Brock sent out Onix which roared and caused the whole arena to shake. "Use Rock Tomb!"
Giant rocks fell on Squirtle crushing him.
"What? How? Squirtle has the type advantage, how did he lose?"
"Types mean nothing if you don't know how to use them." Brock coldly responded
Lukas returned Squirtle. Which Pokemon should I use? Lukas thought, Weedle and Pidgey don't stand a chance.
"Do you forfeit?" Brock asked.
"No, go Pidgey!"
"Are you stupid? You do realize flying types are destroyed by rock types, right?"
I'm doomed. "Pidgey, fly up to the roof!"
"ROCK THROW!"
"Pidgey, grab that rock!" Pidgey grabbed the rock and dove down toward Onix releasing the rock sending it flying into Onix's face.
Brock was speechless. "I-I have never seen a strategy like that before!"
"Honestly I didn't think that would work." Lukas said in his usual silly voice.
"Well done," Brock clapped and walked over to him, "you've earned the Boulder Badge." He handed Lukas the black stone-like badge.
Later that day
Lukas and Squirtle were walking to the nearest hotel as it was getting late when a trainer walked up to them. Squirtle's eyes shrunk as he looked at the trainer.
"You," the stranger said, "I see that weak Squirtle decided to join you."
"Who do you think you are calling my friend weak!?"
"I was that wimp's trainer, and my name is Victor."
"So you are the jerk that ditched this guy! He is not weak, he is way better than you think!"
"Prove it." Victor sent out his Arbok which made Squirtle cower even more.
"He doesn't want to fight, can't you see that?"
"Arbok, use Bite." Arbok attacked Squirtle.
"STOP IT." Lukas was getting angrier by the second.
"He hasn't changed one bit, it's a miracle you could defeat Brock."
"GET BACK HERE." Lukas grabbed Victor's shoulder but received a punch to the face as a response.
"I can see why that wimp chose you as it's trainer." With that he walked away.
After visiting the Pokemon Center again, Lukas bought a room to spend the night. Squirtle refused to eat with Weedle and Pidgey and spent the rest of the night crying in a corner.
Squirtle's Flashback
It was horrible, Squirtle ran across the street as the Rockets ransacked Lavender Town. A Grunt was chasing Squirtle down the street.
I have to find Ava! The Squirtle kept thinking. He was so lost in thought he crashed into another grunt. The grunt chasing him caught up.
"What should we do with him?" The grunt that had been chasing him asked.
"Go report to Archer, I will deal with this guy." The second Grunt said.
After the first grunt left, the second one looked down at the Squirtle.
"Hello," He said, "my name is Victor."
Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Next one will be out soon. It takes a little while with school and all that but I'm spending a lot of my free time on this. Thank you for reading.
