SAMMY'S POV
The second day was much better…
First Bella was nice enough to leave enough hot water for me to take a quick shower, and second Bella made breakfast this morning, and surprisingly it wasn't raining which in Forks was a rarity.
"Do you think Edward will apologize today?" Bella sat down
"Of course I do" I smiled
"But what if he ignores me?"
"I'll have Emmett beat some sense into the idiot" I joked
Of course I wouldn't tell her that I actually would have Emmett beat the idiot right out of his brother if he managed to hurt her again, and I know Emmett would be more than willing to.
While Bella drove us to school we didn't talk much except when I would offer her a few words of comfort, and it wasn't until we got close to the school when I noticed she was shaking a tiny bit. Gently I put my arm on her shoulder and without using my gift I tried to calm her down as much as I possibly could which was much harder than I thought. Getting out of the car I was happy I had somewhat calmed her down because Emmett was walking over and I didn't want Bella to run away which I knew she would.
"Hey girls" Emmett said
"He-hello" Bella stuttered
"Hi" I grabbed my bag from the seat
Emmett walked us to our first class before making his way to his own classes which I was thankful for because I didn't want Eric to think it was ok to jump into our personal space. As lunch got closer I could see Bella getting more and more nervous about lunch because she kept twitching and jumping every time someone surprised her. Gym wasn't as bad seeing as Mike tried to help Bella out but eventually she managed to hit me in the back of my head which sent me forward a little. I was a tiny bit pissed because the coach kept trying to get me to go to the nurses to make sure I didn't have a concussion or something.
"Im scared" Bella whispered as we made our way to the lunchroom
"Don't be. It'll be alright" I threw my hand over her shoulder
Walking into the lunchroom as predicted Edward sat with the rest of his family though his eyes never strayed too far from Bella which gave me a fit of giggles. Trying to distract Bella I helped her grab her food, and I dragged her to the table that Mike, Ben, Austin, and Angela occupied.
"Hey guys" Angela smiled
"Hey Angela" I replied
"Did any of you hear about the new comic book store next to the market" Ben and Austin looked at Mike wide eyed
"Tell us more" Ben demanded
And so began the discussion of comics which led to other topics like favorite superhero, hobbies, Siblings which was how Bella and I learned that Angela had two little five year old brothers she took care of when her parents were busy. Once lunch was over Bella and I split and I met up with Emmett and we walked the rest of the way together in a sort of comfortable silence. When we got to our seats Emmett pulled my chair out for me before sitting down which was the nicest thing a guy had done for me.
"So how was your day?" Emmett asked
"It was pretty decent though I swear half the people here are idiots" I pulled out my English book
"I know how you feel" He laughed
For some reason I got the feeling that was another one of his inside jokes but I shrugged it off and got my work out and listened to Misses Raven teach until she handed out assessments and allowed us to talk to each other.
"So does Edward actually plan on apologizing to Bella?" I raised my eyebrows
"Yes but you have to understand that Edward isn't like most of us and he tends to shut people out that he think he could get close with"
For some reason I didn't think that was the whole truth, and I didn't want to get into someone else's business seeing as I just met them yesterday so I probably didn't know half of Edwards problems. Before the end of class Misses Raven told us about a partner project we had to do with the person we sat next to which meant I would be seeing more of Emmett. Once she was finished explaining the assessment she walked around to the tables with a hat which held different topic and the one we pulled out was the one we had to do an essay on.
"Thank goodness we're partners" I frowned at one of the students who groaned at the topic he had gotten
"Why?"
"Because im assuming or at least hoping you won't moan and groan while we work together on the project" I wondered if I was wrong
"I may prefer to be doing other things but I swear I won't complain the whole time" He assured me
"Good. How about we work on it during free period?" I asked
"Sure" He smiled at me
Together we walked to the library which was pretty decent considering the size of the school and the place looked like it didn't get much funding but a library was a library and reading was one of my favorite pastimes. Once we sat down we looked at the topic which was to do an essay on a person we considered inspirational from any era or time in history.
"So any ideas?" Emmett asked
"Any idea who Ann Frank is?" I questioned
Emmett stood and walked through and around the different rows of books before returning with a book that a young girl on the cover who Im assuming was Ann Frank.
"I may not spend much time here but I have a good memory" Emmett sat down
"And I won't ever question it" I assured
For the next hour we went through how we wanted to write the essay and who was going to write what and by the end of the hour the base outline was complete. Once the last bell rung Emmett walked with me to truck where I could see Bella chatting with Edward and both seemed to have giant smiles on their faces.
"You two work everything out?"
"Yup and Edward promised to tell me about Alaska tomorrow" This was the happiest I had seen Bella in a long time
"Well we have to get food so we don't starve" I reminded
So once we said our goodbyes I hopped into the driver's seat already coming up with a plan to humiliate Bella in the funniest way possible.
"TO THE SUPERMARKET!" I yelled before driving off causing people to turn our way and laugh
"Shut up" Bella sat lower in her seat
As fate would have it the lines were so slow and we spent a minute right next to the Volvo which was apparently the Cullen's seeing as Emmett in the passenger seat looked like he would die laughing so I winked at him and waved to his siblings causing Bella to slide down as far as she could. It took us twenty minutes to get to the market and that's not counting the time it took to get away from the long lines at school, and figure out where the stupid market was because only Bella and I wouldn't be able to find the dumb market in a town that had most of its stores on one street.
"Sometimes I think god hates us" I huffed
Shopping was actually easier than I thought it would be and Bella seemed to be having fun shopping which actually never happened with her at all. While we were strolling through the rows we found a bunch of awesome stuff like an Iron-Man shirt that looked three sizes to big so obviously I had to have it
"Pretty sure you were a hoarder in a past life" Bella laughed as we checked out
On the way home we talked about what we wanted for dinner and decided on teriyaki chicken and rice which made my mouth water. While Bella showered I got started cooking while I called Gabriel since he hasn't text me at all today which wouldn't be bad except he always texts me.
"What's up?" his voice sounded ruff like he had been crying
"Are you hurt or something?" I was worried so sue me
"No but it turns out I'm staying with Lucas and his mom until I turn eighteen"
Lucas was Gabriel's Goth boyfriend who Bella and I was sure was a pyromaniac because he always had his lighter out even when he wasn't smoking the weed I know he had.
"Why what happened"
"Dad got a little too drunk" I could practically hear him wincing
"He didn't…." I left off
The idea of someone I care about being violated like that was something I couldn't handle and if the answer was yes I would send dad down there with the biggest gun he owned.
"NO! I mean no he didn't" Gabriel assured me
"Does Lucas's mom mind you staying there until you're eighteen?"
"Actually she said instead of moving up there I could just stay with them" I could almost feel his excitement
It was almost like a shot to the heart because Bella and I had been looking forward to him moving in with us but if he was happy with Lucas who was I to damper that. Besides Lucas and his mom could always use the help paying for bills and Gabriel makes good wages.
"Sounds cool" I used my fake happy voice
"I know that voice Samantha Renee Swan. Don't even think about lying"
"Im fine" I knew it wasn't the end of the world
"Ok I guess I'll text you tomorrow"
"By. Love you"
"Love you too"
After I hung up I walked over to Bella who was checking the food.
"Gabriel had an out with his drunk dad so he moved in with Lucas instead" I muttered
Bella spun around hitting the side of the counter
"Is he ok?" she asked
So while we cooked I explained what I knew and she told me she emailed mom about what's been going on.
"GIRLS" We heard from the front door
"DAD" I hollered running over and hugging him
If there was one thing that could be said it was that I would always be a daddy's girl.
"Where's the fire" dad joked
"It's just nice to actually talk with you since you spend a lot of time at work"
"Im sorry I still have to get use to you girls being here"
"It's ok. Well Bella and I decided to make teriyaki chicken and rice since you can't cook at all" I laughed at his apprehensive face
"Don't worry dad we know how to cook" Bella said peaking her head out from the kitchen
So after the food was done dad helped Bella and I get the plates onto the small three person wood table that I'm sure dad has had since before Bella and I were born.
"Smells good girls"
"Thanks" twin power
Bella and I waited until after dad took a bite to eat just to make sure the food was alright.
"So, how did you girls like school? Have you guys made any friends?" he asked us
"I met Mike Newton, Angela Weber, Ben Cheney, and his best friend Austin Marks" I was hoping he would tell me a little about them
"Angela is the minister's daughter. Austin I'm pretty sure is the son of Agatha Marks the lady who owns the hardware store. As for Ben I have no idea about him" dad said between bites
"What about Mike Newton?"
"The Newton's are decent people. They own the sporting goods store next to the hardware store"
"I met Emmett Cullen. You wouldn't happen to know much about him would you?" I was curious
"The doctor's kid? All of the Cullen's are great people" Dad looked angry almost
"They seem a tiny bit…Different" Bella looked down most likely mad at herself for making it seem like she was being rude
"Their father Dr. Cullen is a wonderful surgeon and because of him over ninety percent of the people going in for terminal illnesses always make it back out and he makes less than what he could make anywhere else. The people here are lucky that his family wanted a small town and I'll admit I thought the adopted children would be a mess but they have been nothing but kind. I admire how they love spending time with their parents which most kids don't" Dad took a long breath
Bella and I shared a glance
"You misunderstand I just meant that he seemed very kind and I wanted to know if all of them where as kind as him" Bella nodded along with what I said
"Ya and it's a miracle the doctor has a wife or else he would have everyone no matter the gender at their door asking for his hand"
After the shared laughter at the image of a hoard of people at the Cullen's door we all lapsed into silence once again until we were done. Once the cleaning was done I Walked into my room and pulled up Gabriel's Skype and tried to ring him but he wouldn't answer so I just finished what was left of my work and went to bed.
The rest of my week was spent between Bella, Emmett, and the new friends that I had managed to make in such a short time, and on rare occasions Emmett who was the only Cullen to break the barrier would sit with Bella and I at our table with our friends. During the weekend Bella and I spent most of our time together watching old moves like we did when we were kids, and we Skyped mom and Gabriel for a bit which was followed by a trip the library.
Monday morning I woke up with as usual a huge gigantic frown while the sun glared through the crack in the curtains though it wasn't all bad seeing as Bella made me pancakes and bacon for breakfast.
"Remind why I ever get mad at you" I said chewing through the food
"Don't know" Bella shrugged
When we got to school Mike met up with us and tried to fend off the random people that kept coming up and saying hi as if they knew us or something. Our first classes weren't terribly hard or exciting but when we got out we noticed it was snowing which I loved everything snow mostly because I don't get to see it often. Bella and I sat down on one of the benches outside next to Angela so we could watch Ben, and Mike have a snow fight.
"Can't believe it's snowing" Bella looked irritated
Ever since I could remember Bella has always hated snow.
"You don't like snow?" Mike and Ben ran over
"Sammy loves snow but I don't see the appeal"
"I think she just needs to roll around in it for a while" Bella gave me a look
"Have either of you seen snow before today?" Mike gave us a lopsided grin which seemed a little too fake
"I have but Bella hasn't"
I would visit dad during the winter for a few weeks while Bella stayed at grandmas and that was the only time you would ever find us apart. Breaking from my thoughts I heard the bell ring.
"I'll see you at lunch okay?" Bella starting walking off with Ben, and Angela
Once she left I turned to Mike who looked like he was biting his lip.
"You ok?" I asked softly
He glanced up at me "Sure am. Why?"
"You seem sad" something was up
"It's just Jessica" Oh
Mike was a very kind person and his only flaw was that for some stupid reason he had a crush on Jessica Stanley who was the side-skank to Lauran. He had confessed a while ago that he was trying to get her to go out with him but she kept side stepping him every time he got close which made me want to murder her.
"If you ever want to talk just text me. Come on before we're late" I wrapped an arm around his shoulder and off we went
Through the rest of the morning all anyone could talk about was snow which surprised me seeing as it happened so often you would think they where use to it. By lunch Bella was continuously on guard with a binder held tight to her chest which wasn't needed seeing as one of us would just push away anyone who got to close for comfort.
"I still stay we name our group the Avengers" Austin held Bella's tray
"Only if I'm Thor"
"With your blonde hair Mike nobody would assume otherwise" I sat down
Sitting down everyone started talking to each even Angela was starting a conversation with Ben who happened to be Angela's crush though I don't think the poor boy noticed at all. While everyone was talking I looked at the Cullen's and noticed that they were all laughing even Jasper who normally looked like he was in pain.
"Sam could you settle our argument? Iron man or the hulk?" Ben broke me from my thoughts
"Iron man" I replied simply
"What are you guys staring at?" Austin asked
"Don't know about Bella but I was staring at the piece of prime steak that calls itself Emmett" everyone at the table started laughing
As if they heard the Cullen's chose that moment to start laughing and for some reason I wanted to start laughing though the feeling wasn't natural.
"Edward Cullen is staring at you" Angela murmured in Bella's ear so low I barely heard it
"Probably can't wait to tell you all about Alaska and all the things he would do to you there" Bella's blush was so adorable
"Shut up Sammy he might hear you" Bella hissed
"How is it you to get a reaction from people who haven't talked to anyone since they appeared?" Mike questioned
"Because we're awesome"
Smiling Mike started going talking about his plans for an 'epic battle of the blizzard' in the schools parking lot and he asked if I wanted to join seeing as Bella refused. The other boys immediately signed up while Angela and I thought it would be better if we didn't participate in this one lest we end up with frozen bottoms.
After lunch I met up with Emmett and he walked with me to our class and we talked about the different things we liked doing and it turns out we both like the X-box which he promised to kiss my ass on sometime. Once we got to class we had the rest of time to work on our shared project though we ended up spending most of the time talking about different things.
"So what kind of places have you been to?" Emmett asked
"Bella and I spent the summer in Germany with a friend of our so we could visit his cousins" I answered
"How was it?"
"Fantastic" The word didn't even cover it "So where has the great Emmett been to?"
"My family travels a lot so ive been to most of the states"
I was expecting more of an explanation but I wasn't about to complain
"What's your sister Alice like?"
"As much of a pixie as you can imagine which means when she has a project it's impossible to stop her" He looked lost in a memory
When the bell rung Emmett and I walked out and to the library to finish our project and by the end we were pretty much done with the project. I made my way to the truck where Bella sat in the driver's seat with her hands already on the wheel
"You ok?" I asked getting in
"Yup im ok never better" Bella laughed hysterically
When Bella was pulling out I could see Emmett and Edward chatting while leaning against a Volvo a few cars down from us but what caught my eye was Edward who was glancing towards Bella. Pulling out of the parking space Bella almost hit a Toyota Corolla that I am sure belongs to Austin's little brother which means we might be getting a phone call though luckily Bella put on the brake and managed to get us out without one of us dying.
"If things continue on this track I will be dead by the time I'm eighteen" I thought
