Katniss POV
Why can't I stop thinking about Peeta's body?
Well now that I think about it, I haven't seen Peeta shirtless since we were young and I'm pretty sure he didn't have a six pack then.
As we were getting in the hot tub I slipped on the deck and being the guy Peeta is of course he caught me.
All I could do was stare deeply into those beautiful eyes of his.
He could always hypnotize a girl with just the look of his eyes.
We just stood like that for a while until he finally asked me "You okay?" and I said "I wouldn't have been if you didn't catch me."
With that little scene we got in the hot tub and boy did it feel amazing and with me pretty much being a single woman I was determined to go after what I wanted and now it was Peeta.
I have finally come to the realization that I might just be in love; yes I said love, with my best friend.
I sure hope he feels the same way because if he doesn't I don't know what I'll do.
Peeta POV
Katniss looks amazing in that cherry red bikini.
Wait what am I thinking?
She just got out of an awful marriage and I'm her best friend.
She doesn't want me, I'm sure of it.
But I just can't help but stare at her when she's not looking.
I can't help but think about her.
Her voice is beautiful in every single way.
Her chocolate brown eyes just put me into a trance.
Her long brown hair that flows in all the right places makes me crazy.
Sometimes I imagine kissing her in all the right places.
My perfect life would just be Katniss and I here, now.
If I only I could just tell her how I feel.
How would she react?
Would she reject me or would she be so happy and we'd live happily ever after?
What am I thinking?
Happily ever afters are for fairy tales not real life.
Not for my life.
Katniss POV
"Hey Peeta you in there?" I wonder what he's thinking about.
"Uh what? Oh yeah I'm in here." Peeta said.
"I'm ready to go inside. I feel like a raisin just sitting here." I told him trying to sound as cute as possible.
I don't think it's working.
"Good I was just about to say the same thing." He said sounding a little out of it like he just woke up from an amazing dream.
As we walked inside I was trying to plan an epic way to tell Peeta how I feel and after some careful thinking I had it.
"Peeta I'm just going to take a quick bath. Be done soon." I yelled from the bedroom where I was to the kitchen where he was.
"Okay" he yelled back.
I locked the door and started to get everything ready.
First I grabbed all the candles I could find and set them all around the room.
I will wait to light them for the perfect moment.
I got my IHome docking system out of my bag, and quickly scrolled to "Hard to Love" by Lee Brice and I would play it when he came in.
Next was bath time.
It was really short. 5 minutes top.
Then I picked out my sexiest outfit and threw it on.
Made my hair look naturally cute and lit the candles.
Peeta POV
"Peeta could you come here?" Katniss said.
"Yah be there in a second." I yelled from the kitchen where I had my head inside the fridge.
I walked over to the master bedroom where I could hear music playing and the smell of candles filled the air.
When I walked into the bedroom Katniss was sitting on the bed looking amazing.
"Umm Katniss what's going on?" I asked her feeling really confused.
"Peeta I have some things I need to tell you. Things that I think you deserve to know." She said looking a little scared to tell me.
"Well what is it? I'm sure whatever it is will be just fine." I said trying to reassure her.
"Well this is really hard for me to say, but I think that I might be in love with you. Please don't freak out." She said with the sound of relief that she got that off her chest.
I just sat there and thought about how we could both be so stupid not to see that we were both in love with each other.
With that thought I walked over to her grabbed her, looked deep into her eyes, and leaned in for a deep passionate kiss that lasted for what felt like a life time.
When we came up for air Katniss looked up at me and said "So I take it that you feel the same?"
"Katniss I've been in love with you since the day we first met. I will never stop loving you." I told her.
With that she just hugged me as if she never wanted to let go of this special moment we were sharing.
Katniss POV
Waking up in Peeta's arms was the best feeling I the world.
Of course all we did was talk about "we" were going to work out.
After hours of talking about all the complications, Gale and my divorce being two of them, we decided if it would be best if we weren't intimate until after my divorce was finalized and Gale was officially out of our lives for good.
But that's going to be very difficult seeing that I want to jump on Peeta every time I see him.
I honestly don't know if either of us will be able to keep up with our little agreement because last night I swear Peeta couldn't keep his eyes off of me.
I feel Peeta stir in his sleep so I pretend I'm still asleep in case he wakes up, and of course he does.
All I feel is him stroking my hair softly as I keep my eyes shut.
I so badly just want to open my eyes a kiss him deeply like the world surrounding us doesn't even exist.
Like Gale or my divorce never existed.
