Rocky was enjoying life he was no longer ashamed of everyone knowing that he was gay and had a boyfriend. He couldn't be happier the two of them have been on an emotional rollercoaster. They have spent so much time with his family, Jason's family, and going to Stone Canyon to visit Rocky's brother. Then the two spent a great deal of time going up to spend time with Jason's grandma. Things were going so great all their friends were so happy for them and stood behind them. They celebrated with Laura and their friends she finished school and was now a full-fledged physical therapist. Jason left yesterday to spend the weekend with Kim who was back in California. Just last week they found out that after defeating Mondo that there was someone else more powerful was heard there way. After almost losing Jason to the alien they all needed this much well resting period. With the help of Zordon they used there Zeo powers to create the new Turbo powers.
They haven't had to use them yet and they were hoping that they didn't have to but for now they were loving the free time. Rocky was buys this weekend there was a karate tournament to help with the Angel Grove Children's Center, he Tommy and Adam were practicing for the tournament. The three of them have been working very hard for this tournament. They wanted to get everything just right so that they had all these moves down. Tommy and Adam were off sparring with one another while Rocky was practicing with their coach.
"Come on Rocky a few more roundhouse kicks and get them here, kick hard." He yelled as Rocky did as he was told and did a few more. Rocky was growing tired you would think of all the years of taking Karate and teaching plus there extra after school activities his roundhouse kicks would be one point. But here he was having so much trouble on this one dame move.
"Dang it." Rocky said as he leaned against the ropes.
"Yo Rocko what's wrong. You ok?" Adam asked
"Yeah just can't land this damn roundhouse kick. I keep coming in too low." Rocky said
"Hey it's ok that's why we are practicing." Tommy said
"I know but it's irritating me that I can't get it." Rocky said
"Hey relax and breathe. I know that this is important but you know this you can do it." Adam said
"Adam is right. And just think by time this is over Jason will be home and you two will be back together again." Tommy said as Rocky smiled thinking about how much he loves Jason and how much he misses him.
"Ahh I see you hit the nail on the head." Adam said "He misses Jase."
"Alright yeah I do but only cause well I haven't talked to him since last weekend." Rocky said
"Hey man it's tough I know. But I can honestly tell you that no matter how long you two are apart you'll both be ok." Tommy said
"How do you know that?" Adam asked
"Cause I know Jason better than anyone, and he is head over heels in love with you. You are both meant to be with one another. So there for nothing is going to come between your relationship." Tommy said as Rocky started his breathing and thinking about everything and knowing that he can do this.
"Ok your right let's continue this." Rocky said as all three continued on their practices. All three boys were back to doing their thing, Rocky kept up with his roundhouse kicks. After about the third one he over rotated and missed the Coaches hand and went over the top rope landing on his back. Rocky screamed as he fell hard on the floor.
"AHHHHHhhh." Rocky yelled as both Tommy and Adam were out of the ring and next to him.
"Bro are you ok?" Adam asked
"My back oh god my back." Rocky said
"Somebody help." Tommy yelled as both Kat and Laura came down.
"What happened?" Laura asked
"HE fell out of the ring right on his back." Adam said
"Rocky this is important, did you hear anything when you hit the floor?" Laura asked
"Yeah I heard a crack." Rocky said as Laura slowly reached underneath him and felt his back from his neck to his lower back.
"Laura what do you feel?" Tommy asked
"If what I am feeling is right it's not good." Laura said
"Let's get out of there way." Coach said
"Careful he has broken the L3 and L4." Laura said
"And how do you know this Miss?" the EMT asked
"Cause I am a physical therapist and from feeling his back." Laura said
"Sir did you feel the anything." HE asked
"Yes." Rocky said as they got him on a backboard and on to the stretcher.
"His parents?" The emt asked
"I'll go pay them a visit." Laura said as she left the arena and headed to Rocky's house.
Rocky was in the back of the ambulance and headed to the hospital. He was missing Jason so bad at this point if there was one thing he know it was that Jason would know how to comfort him. Pulling up to the hospital Rocky was feeling every little bump as they hit with is stretcher. They put him into a room and transferred him to the hospital's bed.
"OH god easy." Rocky yelled
"Sorry there Rocky what happened?" He asked
"I was practicing for a Karate tournament and I over rotated my round house kick and landed hard on my back outside the ring. My friends was there and she is a physical therapist she said she could feel the L3 and L4 were broke." Rocky said
"Ok what about your parents?" HE asked
"She was going to get them and tell them." Rocky said
"Ok well till they get here let's get you to x-ray." He said as they wheeled him out of the room and down the hall. Turning into a room where they would be doing his x-ray. Rocky laid on the bed as still as he could, laying on those hard boards were not fun. They wheeled him back to the room and there waiting on him was his parents.
"Oh Rocky what happened?" Mama asked
"I over rotated my round house and ended up on my back." Rocky said as his mom was by his side holding his hand.
"So we called the Scotts so they could tell Jason but there is some bad news. Jason and Kimberly are missing their stuff was found at the beach along with Jason's car but there nowhere in sight." Papa said
"Oh god no Jase we have to find them." Rocky said starting to get vey worried.
"Don't worry everyone is out looking for them, but right now we are worried about you." Mama said
"How are mom…" Rocky stopped not knowing how his parents would feel about him calling Jason's parents mom and dad.
"Son its ok if you call them mom and dad. You and Jason are so close." Papa said
"Just promise me that you two are being safe?" Mama asked
"Yes we are and I can promise you all we have ever done is make out. Sure we have shared a bed but just to sleep. I feel the safest place is in his arms." Rocky said as the door opened and in walked the doctor and a nurse.
"Hello I am Doctor Rhoads, how are you feeling Rocky?" He asked
"My back is sore and throbbing." Rocky said
"Ok well this is Kerri and she is going to give you some pain meds. Now I looked over your x-rays and your friend was right your L3 and L4 are broke." Dr. Rhoads said
"Laura said they felt like it when she told us. What can we do doc?" Mama asked
"Well we have two options one is just let it heal on its own, two we can do surgery to fuse it together." He said
"But fusing it would…I'll be done with Karate." Rocky said
"I am afraid that yes for about a year or so but you would not be able to practice karate. But you should be back to new sometime after that." Dr. Rhoads said
"Ok can we talk it over?" Mama asked
"Yes just have the nurse page me." Dr. Rhoads said as he left leaving Rocky with his parents.
"Son, what do you want to do?" Papa asked
"I want to have the surgery. But it's up to you two really." Rocky said
"No son it's not, it is your life." Mama said as Rocky closed his eyes he knew what else this meant he had to give up being a ranger. But then it left more time to study and be with Jason. Rocky closed his eyes and started to shake his head a little bit.
"I wish Jason was here." Rocky said as there was a knock at the door.
"Come in." Papa said as the door opened and there was both of Jason's parents.
"Hey Laura told us what happened. We felt like we owe it to Jason to make sure you are ok." Mom said
"Not good at all. Have you heard anything?" Rocky asked as both Jason's parents looked to Rocky's parents and the back to him.
"Yes and right now the Power Ranger are on it. It seems some evil force kidnapped him and Kimberly why were not sure." Dad said as Rocky knew exactly why they were kidnapped. They were friends to the power ranger and a surefire way to get to them. Mom walked over to Rocky and picked up his other hand.
"We are here for you whatever you need. We love you like a son." Mom said as I looked to my parents who smiled.
"We are glad that you love Rocky just as much as we love Jason. The two of them are such a great couple." Mama said
"I know my mother in law said she wouldn't mind having Rocky here as a grandson someday. And I said that I could see Rocky as a son." Mom said
"Me two." Mama said as I was feeling tired I wanted to stay awake and not miss a thing. But I faded all too soon I could hear muffled sounds and then everything went black.
Rocky woke up and saw that he was alone for the first time since he was brought into the hospital. The door opened and I walked the gang and they didn't look like they were too happy. Rocky didn't see Jason and or Kim enter the room so he knew that it had to be bad.
"Hey man how are you doing?" Tommy asked
"Not good, Laura you were right the L3 and the L4 were broke." Rocky said
"I am sorry I was right. So my next question is what path are they going?" Laura asked
"Um it was just let it go and let them heal or do surgery and fuse them together." Rocky said
"And what did your parents say?" Kat asked
"It was my decision." Rocky said
"And what have you decided?" Adam asked as Rocky looked around to see his friends looking at him.
"I have decided to have the surgery." Rocky said "Which mean I have to give up my powers."
"That's all that matter is that you get better. We'll find another to take over for you," Tommy said
"I hate to have to do this but I have to." Rocky said as the communicators went off.
"We read you Zordon." Tommy said
"Ranger we have a lead on Jason and Kim." Zordon said
"Ok were on our way." Tommy said
"Hang in there Rocky." Laura said as Kat kissed his cheek.
"Yeah man before you know it well bring Jason and Kim home." Tommy said as the four of them teleported out. Rocky started to close his eyes hoping that they were right that they would bring Jason and Kim home. Just as he was about asleep he felt his bed get bumped and he looked up to see none other than Justin one of the kids from the forester center.
"Justin what are you doing here?" Rocky asked
"I came to see you I was worried when I found out what happened." Justin said
"How long have you been down there?" Rocky asked as Justin looked to the door and then back to Rocky.
"Long enough to know you and your friends are the power rangers." Justin said
"Justin you can't tell anyone." Rocky said
"What are you going to do you can't go help them." Justin said as Rocky knew that this was crazy but he needed someone he trusted. Sure Justin is young but he hopes that this will work.
"I know, but I have a huge favor to ask of you." Rocky asked
"Sure Rocky what can I do for you?" Justin asked as Rocky took off his communicator and his morpher and handed them to Justin.
"I am trusting you to be the new blue ranger. Justin you have to promise me that you can never tell anyone you are a power ranger." Rocky said
"I promise so now what." Justin asked
"Morph and then hit the blue button and you'll end up where the other rangers are." Rocky said as Justin did as he was told by Rocky.
"Oh wow I can feel the power running through me." Justin said
"One more favor. Please bring Jason back safely." Rocky asked
"I promise Rocky." Justin said as he was gone leaving Rocky alone once again. He got to thinking about everything that has happened how Jason and Kim were taken and how he just gave up his powers to a 13 year old. The opening of the door brought him in some more company looking up he saw Jason's parents.
"Mom, Dad what are you doing here?" Rocky asked
"Well your parents wanted to go make sure your siblings were ok. Ricky is come in and keeping an eye on them while you have your surgery." Mom said
"When are they doing it?" Rocky asked
"In a few hours." Dad said as they both sat next to me on either side.
"Have you heard anything about Jason and Kim?" Rocky asked
"No son not yet and were not giving up hope either. We are going to be here for you." Mom said as she kissed my hand. I squeezed her hand letting her know that I was glad that she was going to be here.
"Now, Rocky you get some sleep we'll be right here." Dad said as Rocky closed his eyes knowing that Jason's parents were there with him. It made him fell somewhat like Jason was right there with me. Rocky was all but asleep when he heard Mom and Dad talking.
"Michael I am scared and worried for both boys." Mom said
"I know honey but we have to be positive. Right now Rocky needs us to be strong for him. And Jason would want us here for him." Dad said
"I know Michael I just want my boys happy and healthy. Rocky's going to have a long road ahead of him." Mom said
"And we both along with Jason will be there with him every minute of every day we all will get him through this." Dad said
"We sure will Rocky will have all the help he needs. With you two and Jason along with us and Laura already agreed to take on his physical therapy. So we are more than ready to handle this and get him back to normal." Mama said
"I know you are right I just hate that he's going to go through all this and right now and to have him worried about Jason as well." Mom said
"The two of them are so in sync with one another they always seem to know when the other is in trouble." Mama said
"Me too I am glad that Jason was there to keep the bullies away." Dad said
"Bullies he was being picked on?" Papa asked
"Yes he was someone found out he was gay and started to call him names and Jason stood up for him. I think that was the start of their relationship." Mom said
"Well I am glad that he had Jason with him." Mama said as I heard the knock at the door.
"Come in." Papa said
"Mr. and Mrs. De Santos here are the papers. Once signed we can take him for surgery." He said
"Well head out now." Mom said as Rocky wasn't ready to let go he held her hand tighter.
"Stay." Rocky said as he opened his eyes and looked around the room to see his parents and Jason's.
"Hey son there doing to get ready and take you to do the surgery." Papa said
"Ok will you two be here when I wake up?" Rocky asked
"We will be here till you are awake. I promise you." Mom said as she bent down and kissed Rocky's forehead.
"Ok I am ready." Rocky said
"Son I love you so much. The four of us will be here we all love you." Mom said as she too kissed her son as they wheeled him out. Rocky was watching the rooms go by as they wheeled him to the elevator. Once inside he was getting more and more nervous about not being able to do other things for such a long time. He was just very happy that Laura agreed to be his therapist. Once they were off the elevator the turned the corner and moved him into the OR. The nurse explained that they were going to give him a needle and then he would soon be out.
Jason stood in the cockpit of the Turbo Mega Zord looking out at the scenery he had so many thoughts going through his mind. He had this feeling like something was very wrong and he couldn't get past it. He was off in his own little world not really hearing what everyone was talking about. Till he felt a hand on his forearm and he looked down to see Justin a kid was the new blue ranger, all that they said was that Rocky was hurt practicing.
"Hey kid what's up?" Jason asked
"I know it's kind of hard to wrap your head around me being the blue ranger when it meant to be Rocky. But just know that he made me promise to bring you back safely." Justin said as Jason smiled knowing that Rocky had so much faith in this kid.
"Well you should know that you did what you promised, you brought me home." Jason said
"Not alone I had to have so much help." Justin said as Jason smiled.
"Listen Justin you are a great ranger you just need a little more practice and I know Rocky had been teaching you. But just know that I'll be here to help you out too." Jason said
"You should jump at the chance to have Jason Scott teach you something." She said as they turned to see Kim.
"Why is that?" Justin said
"Cause Jason here was the first ever Red Ranger till he handed his powers over to Rocky." Adam said
"Wow that's cool." Justin said "Hey why don't you be Tommy and Adams partner for the tournament"
"You know Jase he's right you could." Laura said
"After all no one can match Tommy like you can." Kim said
"What do you say Jase?" Adam asked as Jason looked over to Tommy, Tommy could see the internal battle that was going on in Jason's head.
"It's ok Bro, we can forfeit." Tommy said as Jason knew that if anyone would know what was going through is mind it was Tommy.
"No I'll do it but first I have to stop by the hospital." Jason said
"Of course we are." Tommy said as they were now back at the power chamber. Jason was the first on scanned to make sure that everything was ok. They were all soon on their way to the hospital to see how everything was going. Jason was nervous and yet excited about seeing how Rocky was doing. Everyone agreed to wait outside while he and Kim went inside. They made their way to the waiting room, Jason heard both their mom's talking.
"Sarah I hope that Jason is ok." Mama said
"He has to be he's always came home safely." Mom said as Jason looked to Kim wondering what they were talking about.
"I know what you mean I always feared that this would happen but not because of Karate but because of the other thing." Mama said as Kim got closer to Jason.
"Do they know?" Kim whispered.
"Sounds like it but how?" Jason asked
"I am just glad that Jason is no longer a ranger." Mom said as Jason's mouth dropped, Kim covered her mouth as she too was shocked. Jason backed away and wondered just where their dads were at. He turned the corner and there was his dad and Rocky's carrying coffee.
"Jason Lee." Dad said as he was soon wrapped in his dad's arms.
"Hey dad, where is mom?" Jason asked
"In there." Dad said as he took the coffee from Rocky's dad as he then griped Jason up in a hug. Kim had walked around the corner and looked in on the mothers of her friends.
"Mom, Mrs. De Santo were home." Kim said as both women hugged her saying they were glad she was home.
"Where is Jason?" Mrs. Scott asked
"Out there with Dad and Mr. DeSantos." Kim said as both women went into the hall to see Jason.
"Hey Mom, Mama." Jason said as both mothers were there holding Jason in their arms.
"Oh Jason we were so worried." Mom said
"I am sorry I worried you." Jason said
"All that matters is that you are home safe and sound." Mama said
"How is Rocky?" Jason asked with tears in his eyes.
"He's in surgery. He opted to have it." Mom said
"Oh god who much longer will he be in?" Jason asked
"About two hours as long as nothing goes wrong" Mama said
"Jason go do Rocky proud and I'll stay here." Kim said
"What are you talking about?" Papa said
"I have been asked to take Rocky's place in the tournament. I have to do this for him." Jason said as he hugged all four parents and then turned to Kim and hugged her tightly. Jason jogged out the hospital and out to his friends who were waiting on him. They got on their way to the arena where they tournament was underway. The three of them went and got registered. They were up next they had just enough time to get changed and then in to their match. Jason was on the outside of the ring with Adam. Tommy was doing everything in his power to keep the momentum going. As the bell rang they were awarded the victory. They got to rest while the next matched happened sitting up in the stands with their friends.
"And this year's final is the team from Stone Canyon vs Angel Grove." He said as they made their way down to the ring this was the final. Everything came down to this match and they agreed that Jason would start it off. This match was much more fast paced then the pervious on. Jason tagged in Adam and went to wait with Tommy on the outside. Before Jason knew what was going the bell rang and they were the victors. The girls and all the kids came running into the ring they were handed a check for the win. Tommy handed it over to the founder of the center.
"Tommy I don't know how to thank you guys. And Jason thanks for filling in." He said
"No problem." Jason said "But I hate not to stay and celebrate but I am needed elsewhere."
"Come on Bro I'll give you a ride." Tommy said as he and Kat followed him.
Jason got out of the ring and was started to the exit of the arena he got into the back of Tommy's jeep as he and Kat were up front. The drive to the hospital was slow but Jason knew that Rocky should be out of surgery by now he was excited to see his boyfriend. Pulling up to the Hospital Jason jumped out and ran into the hospital and took the steps two at a time. Making his way to Rocky's room he saw both parents standing outside.
"Son your back." Mom said
"How'd the tournament go?" Papa asked
"It went well we won." Jason said "How is he?"
"Out of surgery and talking with Kim. The surgery went well they said that the two bones had already started to fuse back together." Dad said
"But I am almost sure he rather see you." Mama said as Jason turned to the door and knocked hearing Kim's voice he opened the door and peeked in seeing Rocky resting.
"Hey Jase he's been asking for you. I told him you took his place he was happy that the foster center has a chance again." Kim said as she let go of Rocky's hand and kissed his forehead. Kim stood up and hugged Jason kissing his cheek. "He really loves you."
"I know and I really love him. Kim I can't see my life without him." Jason said
"I know I can see it. You two are so perfect together. I haven't seen him this damn happy as he is now." Kim said "I'll leave you two alone if you need anything call me."
Jason took the seat that Kim just got out of and reached for Rocky's hand intertwining their fingers together. Jason brought the hand to his lips and kissed his knuckles thankful that Rocky was going to be ok.
"Hey Handsome I am here safe and sound. Thank you for sending Justin to my rescue, I much rather it been you but I am just glad that you are ok. All I could think about was getting home to you. After we were rescued we made it just in time to make it to the tournament and well we won we did it for you. I love you Rocky." Jason said as started to lower his head when he heard a voice.
"I love you too Babe." Rocky said as Jason looked up to see his blue eyes looking at him.
"I am so sorry I wasn't here for you like you were for me? How are you feeling?" Jason asked
"Doesn't matter you are here now. And as for how I am feeling a tad sore they said that they started to fuse back together them self." Rocky said
"And I am not going anywhere sleep I'll be here." Jason said as Rocky looked around to see it was just the two of them.
"Babe since I have to lay on my side will you lay with me?" Rocky asked as Jason smiled and placed the pillow on the table at Rocky's back and he scooted over Jason then got up on the bed and Rocky scooted closer to Jason laying his head on his chest.
"Sleep Handsome I am here with you." Jason said as Rocky kissed Jason's neck as he soon was asleep. Jason looked up at the celling wondering what Rocky's parents would think about them sharing a bed. Jason had closed his eyes relaxing knowing that Rocky was ok and in his arms. He almost was asleep when he heard the door open and figured he pretend to be asleep so he didn't have to leave.
"Awww, Sarah look" Mama said
"Awww, there so cute together. Michael, James come here" Mom said as it was quite
"Come on let' leave them sleep." Dad said
"I say that Rocky is in good hands let's go home and get some rest." Papa said
"I am with you Jason will take great care of Rocky." Mom said as the door shut leaving the two of them alone. Jason wrapped his arms around Rocky tighter hoping that they could get through all that laid ahead of them. Jason was just about asleep when he head an all too familiar sound opening his eyes there he saw the guys.
"How is he?" Kat asked
"Sore they got him all ready and cut him open only to see the two had already started to fuse together." Jason whispered as Rocky scooted closer to Jason.
"Wow I wonder if being a ranger helped with the healing process." Adam asked
"I don't know but I am grateful that he'll be back to his old self sooner than later." Jason said
"I am glad he's better. But can I ask a question?" Laura asked
"Sure Lou what's up?" Jason asked as she leaned closer to Jason and whispered it to him
"What would you have done it had paralyzed him?" Laura whispered and moving back looking on. Jason looked at his friends and then to Rocky who slept in his arms he smiled knowing that nothing could keep them apart.
"Easy, I'd be right here where I am no matter what, he is it for me." Jason said as he leaned down and kissed Rocky's forehead.
"Hmm Babe that feels nice." Rocky said as both girls giggled causing Rocky to open his eyes. He stiffened up against Jason who was rubbing his back to calm him down.
"Hey Rocko glad to see you ok man, you gave us a scare." Adam said as Rocky started to laugh.
"Sorry to worry you all but from what I hear you all did well without me." Rocky said
"Yeah what was it giving your powers to Justin?" Tommy asked
"Look guys I knew that I was no longer going to be able to be a ranger, heck I may not be able to practice karate either for a long time. There was no way I could be a ranger. Besides when you all got the call to go rescues Jason and Kim, Justin was hiding under the bed he heard everything. So I saw someone I could trust and he was willing to help." Rocky said
"It's ok it saves us from looking for someone. Justin is good he's young but he has potential." Tommy said
"He just needs more practices, I have been teaching him every free moment I had. But now I can't." Rocky said
"Don't worry Handsome, I got you covered I told Justin that I would help him." Jason said
"Thanks Babe he's really good and has been at it only a year." Rocky said as he started yawning
"Well why don't we head out and let these two get some much needed sleep. They both have had a rough day." Kat said
"Yeah it's not every day that your best friend tried to kill you." Laura said as Tommy looked over to her and then back to Jason.
"What do you mean, Kim said everything went well." Rocky said
"She too tried to kill Kat." Laura said
"Ok enough let's go Laura." Adam said as he took Laura's hand and drug her out.
"Ok what am I missing?" Rocky asked
"I'll tell you everything I promise." Jason said
"Yeah we all should be going it's getting late." Tommy said as he and Kat followed Adam and Laura's exit out leaving to two alone.
"Jason what happened?" Rocky asked
"Kim and I were put under a spell and well she tried to kill Kat, I am not sure how they broke her spell but she was back to herself. Me on the other hand I tried to kill Tommy." Jason said
"Well he did try to kill you when Gasket took him." Rocky said
"I know but he did what I did took his helmet off he was powerless and I throw him over a wall into a fire pit. He held on trying to get back up and then I remember Kim and Kat coming and then before I knew what happened I was in the pit and Tommy was trying to pull me up. Then I remember hearing Justin and he yelled come on Jase you have help us think of Rocky he needs you. And the next thing I remember was being pulled up and Tommy hugging me. The whole way home all I could think about was getting home to you." Jason said
"I am so sorry you had to go through all of that but I am glad that you are home safe and sound." Rocky said
"Come on Handsome let's get some sleep." Jason said as he pull the light cord and the two fell asleep together in one another's arms. Jason and Rocky are right where they want to be neither one of them want to be away from one another. All that matters as that both their parents and friends are behind them. And together they can get through anything as long as they are together.
