Our universe grants every soul a twin—a reflection of themselves—the kindred spirit – And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other— even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love.

David and Jean Granger's home was in a quiet road in Headington, Oxford.

They had moved here after Hermione had restored their memories, their last house feeling unsafe when they learned death eaters had come looking for them there.

The town was still large enough to have privacy and had an abundance of libraries, which Hermione and her parents both loved.

Hermione had used some of the money that came with her Order of Merlin (first class) to make sure they could buy the house outright, although with both parents being Dentists and having a doctorate each, they were not short of money. Hermione just wanted to make sure they were more than comfortable. She still felt incredibly guilty about changing their memories.

The crack of apparition echoed through the house as the four arrived from the ministry.

Hermione let go of the hold she had on her parents, Severus still holding her protectively.

"Right" Hermiones Mum said. "I'll just get the kettle on then shall I?"

"Hermione can you help your mum while us men have a chat then?" Her Dad asked her with a nod. Knowing the look he was giving her, Hermione made herself scarce and went into the kitchen to look out tea cups for everyone.

"Are you ok?" Hermione asked her mother

"Oh honey, I am fine, it's you I am worried about. I can't understand everything that wizards and witches do, but I don't like the sound of being bound to anyone.. it's sounds like you are a slave, it's very confusing" Jean replied, putting the kettle on and embracing Hermione with a hug.

"I don't feel enslaved" Hermione smiled "I still want everything I did before, but I am confused about what Ron wanted me to do and a little hurt, but I feel like there is this little bubble inside of me that is full of such joy, I can feel Severus, through this bond" she rubbed the area where her heart lay.

They both sat at the kitchen table, Jean placing a large teapot in the centre. "I'll put some biscuits out and then I will see if I can get together some dinner for us all.

"I am so sorry" Hermione said sobbing slightly hugging her mum. "I never imagined this day would turn out this way. I don't know what I am supposed to do now. I have sold my flat... oh gods I am not going to have anywhere to live in a week. I am going to have to speak to Harry and Ginny and there's no honeymoon now and .. and" Hermione burst out crying, overwhelmed.

"Severus was a good friend and we got on very well, but now I feel this pull towards him and when he held me, it was euphoric. I don't know why I never felt the connection before .. if we are soulmates.. I don't understand why I never felt the bond"

Hands gently rubbed her shoulders, soothing her "You never felt it because you were in a relationship, the bond recognised that and kept us close as friends,. Until you called on it today and it, sensing your need, responded in full. You can feel it, can't you, like a thousand threads connecting us together, invisibly" Severus gently spoke from behind her

"Yes I feel it, it is the best feeling I have ever had" Hermione put her hands on top of his, her thumbs gently rubbing over his hands

"Do you realise the martial bond that you were prepared to enter into would have suppressed your desires and needs if they were different from Weasleys?" Severus said with distaste in his mouth

"What, no? Molly and Ron they would never do that? Why? I thought they loved me?" Hermione cried

"I would never lie to you" Severus said seriously

"I know, I am sorry, I don't mean - I just - why?" Hermione turned into Severus's arms for comfort

"Because Molly loves her son and his happiness is more important to her than anyone else's

Hermione held Severus tightly "it.. it doesn't matter now.. I don't feel the same for them.. it's weird, it's like all the love I had for them has been transferred to you"

Severus dipped his head down and gave Hermione a meaningful but chaste kiss on her lips, lingering for a few seconds.

David Granger coughed.. "now what?" He asked

Hermione turned to Severus.. "what do we do now? I can't be apart from you, I need you here with me"

"You can stay with us until you get settled" Hermione's Mum added.

Severus thought for a second before saying "I still have the house at Spinners End, although I have no desire to live there. I will sell it and we can buy a house somewhere quiet, away from prying eyes... somewhere like 'The Lake District' they both said at the same time.

"I have always wanted to live there" Hermione whispered

Hermiones parents smiled knowingly

Hermiones Mum and Dad took their car to the local supermarket to get food for dinner, to give Severus and Hermione time to talk.

Severus was still standing beside Hermione his arms wrapped around her, enjoying holding her when she spoke

"Severus, do you think I will still have my job?" She asked

"Of course you will, they have no reason to fire you" He chuckled "the Weasleys don't have that much influence"

She turned to face him

"Can I try something?", she asked, a blush rising

Knowing exactly what she was asking, Severus dipped his head down to meet hers, their lips touching in a brief kiss. Hermione ran her tongue over Severus lips and he opened his mouth to her.

Their tongues touched tentatively before they kissed watched other deeply, their emotions soaring and hearts pounding. Only becoming aware of their surroundings when they had backed up against the wall, Hermiones legs wrapped around Severus waist , the two of them passionately pushing against each other for more.. more.

Severus lowered Hermione to the floor "I know we are married, legally, but I would very much like to court you, to take you out, to buy you a ring, propose to you ...to do everything the right way .. but backwards" he chucked. " I would very much like you to choose me, and then, after that, I would like to spend our first wedding night together"

Hermione smile gratefully "I would very much like that too, I feel like I would like to exchange vows too, to make it real, not just for us, but for my parents too, it would help them with the situation.. Just this morning I thought I was marrying someone else..but, now, I can see how wrong he was for me. I feel such a fool for not seeing it before"

Severus never spoke but ran a thumb over her bottom lip, unhooking the teeth worrying there.

They heard a car pull into the driveway as Hermiones parents got out of the car with shopping. Severus met them at the door, helping them into the kitchen.

They all cooked a traditional roast beef and potatoes and sat around the table. Hermiones Dad nervously spoke "I wasn't sure whether to get wine or champagne, or if you wanted to celebrate?" He looked from Hermione to Severus

Hermione held Severus's hand on top of the table reassuringly "No celebrations tonight Dad, we are going to do this right, perhaps we could organise a small ceremony when we everything has settled down, but we both want to take this slow"

"There is only one spare room" Her Dad replied looking very awkward.. "Do you want to sleep on the couch?"

"No" replied Hermione, "it's ok, we will sleep in my room, don't worry we will be respectful.. " she blushed

"This bond would never allow us to hurt or disrespect the other in any way" Severus said, turning his hand and linking their fingers together "I would very much like to court your daughter.. properly"

Hermiones parents smiled "That's definitely ok with us"

"I want Severus to hold me tonight though" Hermione replied "I need it, he needs it"
