A/N: My ideas scrambled up so this chapter is quite frustrating and shorter from the others.. I'll make it better in the next update. If you want, you can listen to All I Want by Kodaline while reading. Tell me what you think of this chapter. Here you go.

P.S: I own nothing.

xXx

All I want is nothing more
To hear you knocking at my door
'Cause if I could see your face once more
I could die a happy man I'm sure

When you said your last goodbye
I died a little bit inside
I lay in tears in bed all night
Alone without you by my side

xXx

She was in her own office in her apartment, sitting by her desk reading files about an upcoming case. She fixed her glasses and flipped on the next page, trying not to overlook any detail. She had won three over three cases and she doesn't have any space for failure. Screwing up is not an option for the Posen family, as she remembered correctly.

The sun is setting down; the room is getting dimmer and her coffee a bit colder. She still took the cup and sipped until it was empty, set it down. She exhaled and straightened her back again, slightly aching from hours of nonstop working since last night. She scrolled on through the pages of a particular file on her computer and scanned a little more to the paper she was holding. When she was pleased with her case study, she closed her laptop and arranged all her papers. Once done, she stretched, back arching and bones making cracking sounds.

She headed out of her office and went to the kitchen to place the used cup. As if on auto-pilot, she washed and placed it in one of the cabinets before walking directly to her room. She sprawled on her bed, feeling comfortable on the soft queen-sized bed. She stared at the ceiling for a moment, trying to recall any other task to be done. Slowly, her eyes drooped, her vision blurry until there was nothing.

Staring at the skyline out at the balcony, she watched as the stars appeared at the night sky. Her eyes wandered around while the wind blew the clouds away and the city was lit up with different lights from buildings and streets. They somehow calmed her down.

She breathed in the night breeze and engulfed the scent of the city. She rubbed her arms as she felt cold, licked her drying lips. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting her mind wonder with things that doesn't relate to work or her father.

She felt hands on her sides sliding to her stomach, arms wrapping around her. Her eyes shot open and quickly turned around. But before she even saw the person embracing her, she heard them speak.

"I missed you."

She froze.

She knew that voice. She felt her heart thump hard against her chest. She felt her neck stiffen; their eyes still not meeting each other.

Her breath hitched as she felt a breath touch her skin. The hug was even tighter.

She tried to turn her head around.

Her eyes saw brown locks, messy from the wind that blew them.

She saw blue grey eyes staring at her and lips tugged to a sweet smile. Her lips quivered.

Beca.

It was Beca; hugging her so tight, pressing her face against her arm. She looked content.

Suddenly, she wasn't able to speak. Her voice failed to make a sound. She just stared at brunette's form behind her and so close to her.

"I finally got to see you… Did you miss me?" She looked at Aubrey with hopeful eyes.

Yes. She said in her mind. Beca beamed, as if she heard what Aubrey said in her head.

Beca untangled herself from the embraced and went to her side. She grabbed both of Aubrey's hands and brought them to her lips, letting them linger for a while. Her heart skipped a beat.

"How are you? I've been longing to see you again, and I can't believe you're here right in front of me. We should catch up. Let's go." She talked, not minding that she didn't receive any response. Aubrey wondered why she can't speak.

The brunette walked towards the door, tugging Aubrey's hand with her.

But she didn't move.

Beca looked at Aubrey.

"Come. Be with me." She smiled.

She doesn't know why but suddenly, her voice came back.

"I can't."

And with that, Beca's face dropped and so is the hand that was holding her. Aubrey felt her body trembled inside. The woman before her has a distraught expression and eyes pooled with tears waiting to fall down on her pale cheeks.

Aubrey tried to take it back. She tried to walk towards her, but as she took every step forward, Beca started to fade. She frowned and her eyes burrowed. She tried to reach Beca but every attempt was useless. Every time she walked closer, she was moving away from her.

Beca faded into the background.

She's gone.

She closed her eyes tightly and tears escaped. She hoped that when she opened her eyes, Beca is still there.

She opened them and she saw the white ceiling with shadows.

She stifled a sob.

It was just a dream. No. It was a nightmare.

Tears flowed freely from her eyes as she stared at the ceiling.

Even in her dreams, Beca left her and let it happen.

Once again, she let herself cry to sleep.

"Good morning Ms. Posen." Kate, her assistant, greeted her as she entered the office. She nodded.

Kate began talking about her appointments for the day as she settled on her seat by her table.

"And Mr. Posen wishes to see you in his office in ten minutes. That's all."

"Alright."

"Do you need anything more, Ms. Posen? A coffee or tea perhaps?"

"No, I'm fine. Thank you. You may now go."

The woman nodded and exited her office.

She stared at the monitor of her off computer and conditioned her head to be in work mode. She checked her phone to see nothing in particular. She decided to head to her father's office and hear the man's concern for the day.

Her father was alone in his office, reading a file he pulled from an envelope. She knocked on the glass door and the old man glanced up. When he saw her, he set the paper down and waved at her to come in.

"Good morning, sir." She said. He nodded.

"Have a seat." She obliged and waited for the man to continue. He cleared his throat.

"I hope you're doing okay with studying your upcoming case."

"I am. I've finished it, sir." He didn't response. There was a pause.

He stood up and faced the glass window at the side. Aubrey followed him with her sight.

"Regarding our conversation the other day, I'm opening another office as I have said. I'll be assigning some of our associates there and I want you to lead that office."

Aubrey was surprised but she didn't speak. She knew her father wasn't done yet.

"I'm entrusting you that office. I expect you to run it properly. I want you to be in charge in planning for that branch until it's ready for operation. After your upcoming case, you'll go there and start the business. Am I understood?" He turned to look at Aubrey.

"Yes, sir."

"I'll be waiting for your reports regarding this until it opens. You may go."

"Thank you, sir." She walked right back to her office and closed the glass door. She sat down on her swivel chair and turned it around. She smiled.

She's happy and nervous at the same time because her father entrusted her in running a new office. She finally earned it, she thought.

This is her time to prove herself even harder that she's worthy of her father's trust. At least something's going well in her life.

Her life is moving on with the world but her heart isn't.

She'll figure it out, she thought.

She's not sure how and she knows she's in trouble for not knowing.

Because in not knowing, she knew she doesn't have any other way.

She's stuck and it's hard to get away.

What does she have to do?

So you brought out the best of me,
A part of me I'd never seen.
You took my soul and wiped it clean.
Our love was made for movie screens.

But If you loved me
Why'd you leave me?
Take my body,
Take my body.
All I want is,
And all I need is
To find somebody.
I'll find somebody.

I'll find somebody like you...
