Finally done! I was able to finish 2 chapters. Here they are. Enjoy...

[Third person POV]

Yoka wrapped her arms around her pillow as she rested her face against it. "Just a few hours until Saturday morning," she said to herself, slowly closing her eyes. There was a sudden crackle. Her eyelids slowly opened. "What is it now?" she mumbled, sleepily. She turned to her side and looked at Yuki's empty bed. Her eyelids began coming together again.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

"What was that?" Yoka jerked to the other side, tumbling onto the ground. "Ow!" She rubbed the back of her head that hit her bedside table. She held onto the bed as she stood up. Rubbing her eyes she peeked out at the balcony.

"Ichijo?"

He was standing outside on her terrace.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, walking over to unlock the door.

She stopped and stared at him as she opened the door.

"What's wrong?" he asked, looking at her surprised expression and then at his wardrobe.

"You're…wearing…casual clothing," she answered, still processing her thoughts.

He just wore a black jacket over a white shirt and jeans. He just looked like any other normal guy – a really, really, really, really gorgeous looking normal guy. I'm checking him out again. Stop it!

"Yeah," he replied in an of-course manner, with an amused smile. "Are you sure you're okay? Did the other girl hit you too hard on the head?"

She stuck her tongue out at him. "Noo, I'm perfectly fine. Wait…what are you doing here?" she suddenly remembered.

"You dropped your book," he replied, holding out the history book to her.

"Oh, thank you. I was wondering where it went these last few days."

She walked back into her room to set the book down on her desk. He didn't come in but stood at the doorway. She looked up at him, and he gave her a grin.

"What are you doing, Ichijo?"

"I'm waiting for you to get ready," he replied, casually.

Huh? "Ready for what?"

"We're going out."

"We are?"

"Yeah, it's the weekend. Come on, hurry up, or else all the shops are going to close."

"B-b-but…you never said….I never said…. we're not even allowed off campus at this hour."

"Don't worry. I'll take care of that problem. Now go change." He turned his back towards her, to not peek while she got ready.

Yoka ran into the bathroom, putting her clothes on and fixing her hair a bit. She finally walked out, holding her pajamas in her hands.

The two of them walked down the path in the forest. Yoka had never seen this part of campus before. She never knew where it led. After walking deeper into the forest, she stopped.

"Ichijo," she called.

He stopped walking and turned to face her. "Why do you always call me by my last name?"

Yoka paused for a moment. She didn't realize it until he pointed it out. "I don't know. I guess because Yuki and the other girls call you that as well."

He smiled and then said, "You're not Yuki or the others. You can just call me Takuma."

"Alright. 'Takuma', exactly why are we going out?" She put her hands on her waist, waiting for an answer.

"So I can get to know you without any worries of going to class or being caught by the disciplinary committee," he replied cheerfully.

"Well, are we going somewhere in particular? Cause this is taking up my sleeping time."

"It's only nine o'clock."

"But I haven't been able to get a decent amount of sleep this entire week."

"Homework?"

"No, just problems at home."

"Well, don't worry." He placed his hands on her shoulders. "I'm going to take you to this small place where they sell something really good."

They started walking again.

"Better be some really good stuff, pulling me out of bed like this," she mumbled to herself.

They made it to downtown in a matter of minutes. Yoka sat down on the bench at the park as Takuma went to get the supposedly really good stuff. She gazed at the sky – the stars and the moon. It was a beautiful night, clear from clouds and fog. He walked over to her, holding something in both hands.

"This is the amazing food? Ice cream?" Yoka asked. Is he for real?

"It's very good ice cream," he clarified, handing one of the cones to her and then sitting down.

"How good could it be?" She examined the frozen desert for a bit and then took a bite. "Holy cow! This is really good," she immediately exclaimed, completely surprised, taking another bite.

Takuma smiled as he watched her eat.

"So do you live with your parents?" he asked.

"By parents, if you're referring to someone who takes care of you and loves you…no…My father abandoned us shortly after my sis was born."

"You have a sister?"

"Yeah, she goes to a different school. My aunt can't support the both of us to go here."

"Your aunt? What about your mom?" he asked. He was really getting confused.

"Mom passed away a few years ago."

"Oh…I'm sorry."

"Don't be. She's better off up there than down here," she replied apathetically. "If mom was still here, she'd be drinking herself to sleep every night with Kaz."

" Kaz?"

"Mom remarried when Alice was about five. The only reason she gave marriage another chance was because that way she'd have a drinking buddy every night now," she replied with a tinge of contempt. "And with mom gone, Kaz wanted nothing to do with us. (smirk) I guess the two of us just weren't meant to have any real parents.

"So you went to live with your aunt…"

"Yup…Alice lives there with her now and I'm right here, at Cross. We've been trying to get the chairman to bend a few rules and let Alice come here too, but so far there hasn't been much luck." She turned and saw him frowning as he stared off into the distance. "Hey, you okay?" she asked.

"Huh? Yeah. I'm fine," he replied.

"No you're not."

He glanced at her and saw that she was still looking at him. "Come on, what is it?" She placed her hand on his arm.

He shook his head, "It's nothing. I was just thinking…" His eyes met hers. "I would never have thought that –"

"A girl like me would have such a life?" she finished.

He didn't say anything.

"It's no big deal." She shrugged her shoulders. "But I don't usually talk to people about it."

"Sorry for bringing it up then."

"Nah, it's okay. Sometimes it's good to talk about the past." Then she grinned to herself. "Especially with a guy as cute as you."

He smiled from her remark and started turning pink. He stared at his ice cream for a moment and then decided to change the subject.

"I saw that you liked to read about history?"

"Oh, I love history. Especially, the ones different from the usual, you know? Like American history, it's always the same thing – politics. But in like Asian history, there's everything. European history is quite interesting as well."

"So you like…different." He watched her carefully.

"Yeah. Different is good."

He saw how the stars reflected off her blue eyes as she stared at them and how her hair glistened more under the rays of the moon than the sun. She looked truly amazing.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Takuma blinked several times, snapping himself out of his daze.

"I…I just couldn't help noticing…"

"You're ice cream's melting," she interrupted, pointing at his hand.

"Wha?" He quickly stuffed the rest of the ice cream into his mouth and tossed the cone into the trash can next to him.

"Here." She handed him a napkin as she took another bite.

"Thanks.

She tilted her head, licking her ice cream and looking at him innocently. He glanced at her staring.

"Is it on my face too?" he asked a bit embarrassed, wiping the corners of his mouth.

"No, it's fine." She didn't look away. "What were you thinking about?"

"Um…" He flushed pink.

"Oh, come on. I'm not gonna laugh." She smiled endearingly.

He clenched his jaw a bit. "Can I ask you something?" he asked, turning slightly towards her.

She nodded her head, "Sure…is this also part of the 'getting to know me' process?"

"You can say that." He paused for a second and then continued, "Let's say, hypothetically, you meet a person." He looks at her to see if she was following what he was saying.

"Okay…I meet a person…is it a guy or girl?"

"Uh…it's a…it's a guy."

"Okay, I meet a guy. Go on."

"And this guy likes you…aaand you like him. But as like friends, you know?"

"Yeah, I get it."

"But he's different."

"Different…What? There's something wrong with him?"

"You can say that," he said, "He's not normal."

"O-kay…" She wasn't really following now. "So he's like a weirdo?"

"No…not a weirdo, well…some would say that."

"He's a creep then?"

"Isn't that the same thing?"

"They're kinda different."

"Well, I guess most would say that he's creepy."

"Just spit it out, Takuma."

"He's a vampire," he finally said frankly.

She turned her head the other direction, hiding her face from him.

"I'm sorry. Did I say something wrong?" he asked, concerned and confused at the same time.

He moved a bit closer to her and noticed that she was…laughing?

"Are you laughing?"

Yoka slowly turned around. "I'm sorry…but did you say vampire?"

"Yes," he said seriously.

Seeing that he wasn't laughing with her, she gradually stopped. He kept looking at her, waiting for her response.

"I'm sorry," she apologized with her hand over her smile. "So he's a vampire," she said more seriously this time.

"Yes."

"And?"

"Would you be with him?"

"He's a vampire…he likes me…I like him…" she repeated those words, thinking, "But he's a vampire, so doesn't he like…drink my blood?"

"Yeah, but he likes you, so he'll try not to."

She smirked. "Wow, that's assuring. Trying is totally different than doing…I'm mean what if he just loses it?" She looked down at her feet. "But I don't know. If there's more to it, then…then maybe, yeah, I'd consider it."

She looked at him and saw that something was on his mind again. She leaned over towards him. "What? Are you telling me that you're a vampire?" she asked in a teasing manner.

"It's just a hypothetical question," he replied, turning pink again when she moved even closer.

"What's wrong?" she asked, her face only centimeters away from his.

He stared at her neck, then at her lips. His heart began to race. Then he started saying softly, "No-nothing…it's-it's just…"

He was about to lean into her. Then suddenly, she brought her ice cream between their faces, took a bite, and moved back again. Takuma smacked himself on the forehead and leaned back against the bench. "You were thinking way too much," he thought to himself, feeling embarrassed about what he was about to do a minute ago.

After Yoka finished her ice cream, the two of them made their way back to the academy. She peaked inside her room from the terrace and was relieved to find that Yuki wasn't home yet.

"Yuki's still on patrol," she said, unlocking the door. She didn't immediately go in. "I had fun tonight, Takuma."

"I did too," he replied and smiled.

She turned to face the door again and opened it. But she didn't go in. She turned back around to face him. He was so tall that she couldn't reach his face unless she stood on her tiptoes. So instead, she grabbed his jacket and pulled him down towards her, making him bend his knees. Her warm lips gently touched the smooth skin of his cheek, and then she let go and pulled back a little. "Good night." She smiled at him and walked inside, closing the door behind her. Takuma stood on her terrace, frozen in place, his cheeks burning red. His hand reached up and touched the spot where she kissed him, and then he smiled and started his way back to the Moon Dorm.

[Yoka's POV]

OMG! OMG! Did I just kiss him on the cheek? What was I thinking? I collapsed onto my bed. I hardly know the guy…but then again…I keep getting this feeling like I want to know him better…psh, whatever…It's not like tonight was a date or something…Was it? I reached for one of my pillows as I began thinking about what happened. This was the first time I told anybody so much about my family. Usually when someone asked, I'd just say that I'm an orphan…cause technically I am, well sort of. I don't know…I'm actually quite curious of something…Why did he ask me about vampires?...That was just weird, seriously…That Takuma Ichijo is a real strange one…I hid my face in my pillow as my cheeks began to blush all of a sudden…but adorable at the same time.
