-May's POV-
My eyebrows furrowed as I concentrated on the words I'm trying to read.
'The prophecy is coming true?'
What the heck is she trying to say?
Should I be alarmed or something? Should I be scared or what?
I groaned as I pinched the bridge of my nose.
This is a lot to take in. Especially when I have trained all my semester for this.
"Can I sit here?" I heard a voice saying but I wasn't paying attention until a hand tapped me on the shoulder.
I looked up only to see one of the 'populars' of Rose Academy.
My eyes widened as I blinked and turned to se if he was talking to me. I gulped when I found none.
"Uh-" I started, trying to find a proper term to say. "Are you uh- I'- Are you talking to me?" I asked, courageously.
He smiled. "Sorry if my friends intimadated you or something and yes. I am speaking to you. So can I please sit beside you?" He asked, his eyes twinkling in excitement.
I mutely nodded.
He sat down, feeling like he had accomplished something.
I turned around, expecting that everyone is looking at the two of us.
But to my surprise... No one is looking at us.
I was flabberghasted. No way.
I looked back at him. "Why..."
The words died down my throat. Why isn't anyone staring at us?
I mean, Logan Carter, the Vice President of Student Council and May Maple, the loser, sitting together in the library?
That's some nasty story waiting to be published, right?
"You may be wondering why on earth would I want to sit beside you, huh?" He asked, not looking up to whatever he is doing.
Again, I nodded mutely.
"You can actually talk, y'know." He reminded me. "It's not like I'm gonna blast you into pieces." He joked.
I laughed nervously. I'm pretty sure, I'll be the one blasting you into pieces.
"Sorry." I said, trying hard not to stutter infront of him.
He sighed. "I actually came here to apologize in behalf of Drew." He confessed.
He what now?
"That. And to coax you out of your shell. But I guess, that won't be happening soon, eh?" He said.
I just stared at him, contemplating if I should actually talk to him or not.
"Tell you what, you can talk to me, anytime, anywhere." He said with outmost sincerity. "Just for you to be comfortable with me, think of me as a relative of yours. That will work... I think." He said, scratching the back of his head.
"I never had a relative." I mumbled.
He looked at me, shocked.
"What?"
I sighed and let out a sad smile at him.
He was about to say something when I noticed it. That bluish-green glow.
I know that somewhere.
I looked back at Logan only to find him staring at me, contemplating if he should ask or not.
I stood up and gathered my things. "I have to go." I said as I rushed off to meet my best friend.
Something is very wrong here.
-Isabelle's POV-
I glanced at the miniature gems.
Something is off. I could actually feel it.
Someone is using his/her ability without actually knowing about it.
"Belle!"
I turned around only to see May.
My face immediately turned into a full- out protective mode. "Is something wrong?"
She gasped for breath. She truly isn't a fan of running. And probably will never be.
"Logan..." She wheezed.
My eyebrows furrowed. "Did he bully you?"
She shook her head. "No. Something is terribly wrong with Logan." She informed As she caught her breath.
I patiently stood there as she composed herself to continue.
"Earlier this morning, I was in the library. He sat beside me but no one noticed it. Surely, people had to notice if a popular is sitting too near from us, right?" She said, rambling on and on about what happened to her.
She tends to ramble whenever I'm with her since she cannot actually speak to other people.
What?
I stood there for a second, trying to comprehend what she just told me while looking at the drawings I've made And blinked in surprise.
"May." I said, cutting her off her speech.
She turned to me with those big blue eyes she got. "What is it?"
I took a deep breath. "I think you just had your first encounter with a guardian." I said.
-?'s POV-
I smirked as I glanced at the two occupied girls.
So, they found out about one guardian's identity huh?
Looks like my master is finally stirring from his deep slumber.
"Have you found anything yet?" A rough voice asked behind me.
"It looks like those brats found a guardian." I informed him.
He scoffed. "Anything else?"
"So far, that's all they gathered." I said. "Should I cause trouble now?"
"Not yet. We should let them be. After all, it's not everyday they get to find those guardians."
"What should we do?"
"Why don't we help them?" He suggested, with a hint of malice in his voice. "They seem to be slow in identifying their precious guardians."
I smirked as I snapped my fingers. Shadows seem to form beside me and soon, I found myself in a circle of shadows.
"Why don't you play with them, my little pets?" I suggested.
The shadows seemed to get the message within the message and soon, they were off.
Enjoy our gifts for you...May and Isabelle.
