Chapter 04: Food Wars Part 1
"No, that won't work." Danny muttered erasing something off a piece of paper as he was trying to figure out the right materials to use for the Ghost Hunting Armor he wanted to make.
It's only been a day since his small fight with the Librarian and he knew that throughout the whole fight he only won through sheer luck.
The Librarian was stronger than him physically and he had powers that seemed like something out of Science Fiction.
"If I didn't have the knife or the Ghost Wire, I would've been killed." Danny said pulling the wire and knife out of his bag as well as the Thermos.
'What metal was used for the knife?'
He needed some way to find out-.
Danny did a face palm.
"Or I could just ask my Dad what type of metal it was." Danny muttered in embarrassment.
His Dad wouldn't think anything about him being curious, especially about the gadgets that he made.
Fentonworks is a family business after all.
Giving a sigh, Danny stood up and placed the small suit blueprint in his bag as he left his room to go downstairs to the basement in time to see his Dad working on what looked like a pistol.
'Wait... Why didn't I grab an Ecto Pistol when I fought the Librarian?' Danny mentally berated himself before Jack noticed him.
"Problem, son?" Jack asked as Danny shook his head.
"I was just wondering about something." Danny pulled his pocket knife out as it shined a bit from the cleaning he did to get the sample of ectoplasm he had off of it and showed it to his Dad. "What type of metal is this?"
"I was wondering when you would ask that Danny." Jack said with a grin. "That is Ectoranium."
"Ecto-what?"
"Ectoranium." Jack repeated with a nod. "A metal that specifically affects Ghosts."
"Really?" Danny asked curiously. "How did you get your hands on it?"
"It happened a long time ago." Jack answered with a shrug. "I can barely remember."
"Not even a little bit?" Danny asked feeling a little let down.
"Sorry, son." Jack said before he gave Danny a look. "What brought that question on anyways?"
"Well I was curious because the blade looked different from other knives." Danny lied as Jack gave a nod.
"That it does." Jack said as he got back to working on the ecto pistol before he paused. "You want to help me?"
Danny grinned.
Not only will he learn more about it, it was also a fun thing to do with his Dad.
"Sure."

The next day at school, Danny blinked behind his sunglasses as he found Tucker sobbing in the hallway. "Uh, what did I miss?" He asked as people were giving them weird looks.
"I can't believe her." Tucker said as Danny cocked an eyebrow.
"What, you got rejected by someone?" Danny asked before Tucker grabbed his arm in his hysteria.
"No, it's Sam." Tucker said shaking him. "It's horrible, she-she-."
"Tucker, what happened?!" Danny said getting worried. "What did Sam do?"
"She." Tucker fell to his knees before crying out in despair. "She changed the menu!"
All the worry that Danny had vanished at hearing that and it was replaced with annoyance at Tucker for making a big deal out of something like that, especially considering he was beginning to think a Ghost kidnapped her.
"That's what you're crying about?"
"You don't understand." Tucker said looking at him. "I live off of meat and we won't have any for a week. How could she?!"
"Melodramatic much?" The subject of their conversation walked up to them.
"How could you?!" Tucker cried out at her.
"You could use a little green in your life." Sam said with a smirk.
"I don't eat Rabbit Food." Tucker glared at her as she glared back.
Danny groaned and messed with his hair. "This is getting ridiculous." He muttered, wondering if it was a mistake trying to make them friends.
They are way too different from each other and all they do was argue.
As they continued to glare, he got between them.
"I'm sure there's a way we can settle this peace-."
"Shut it!" They both said as they continued their glaring match.
"... Screw this." Danny walked off.
They can work it out eventually, right?

No... No they can't.
When Lunch came by, Danny walked into a war zone.
Somehow Tucker found the Meat Locker and decided to give everyone the meat they deserved while Sam took offense to that and both she and Tucker stood on different sides of the cafeteria each holding their chosen food with an army of students behind each of them.
"... When the hell did my life get so weird?" Danny asked dumbfounded at the scene before seeing some people staying out of it like he was planning to do. "At least not everyone went insane."
"What do we want?!" Tucker shouted to his army.
"MEAT!"
"When do we want it?!"
"NOW!"
"What's with them?" Danny turned to see Sidney looking just as dumbfounded at the scene as he did.
"Honestly, I think they're high." Danny commented as Sam began speaking.
"Veggies now! Veggies forever!" She chanted as her army repeated after her.
"Veggies Now!"
"Veggies forever!"
That was when both of them noticed Danny and walked up to him.
"I leave you two for three hours and this happens?!" Danny asked not sure whether to be impressed by how fast they did it or worried for their mental health at the fact that they did it.
"Meat Eaters, always ready to fight for their food rights." Tucker answered before glaring at Sam. "And our low protein diets gives us the energy to do so quickly."
"Ultra Recyclo Vegetarians are always ready to protest." Sam countered matching Tucker's glare. "And because we don't have to waste time cooking our food, we can move even faster."
Looking between them, Danny sighed. "Don't you guys think this is taking it a bit far?" He asked gesturing to the armies as they watched the exchange.
"No choice buddy." Tucker said confident that Danny would choose him due to their history. "You're either with me."
"Or against him." Sam said with narrowed eyes.
"SO WHO'S SIDE ARE YOU ON?!" They both shouted causing Danny to take a step back at how this as escalating.
Looking around for an escape, Danny caught Sydney's eyes but he held up his hand. "I'm staying out of this one, buster."
"Come on Danny, join the meat side." Tucker said as he grabbed Danny's left arm.
"No, he's joining me." Sam said pulling on his right arm and they were locked in a thing of tug and war.
"If you don't stop trying to rip me apart, I won't be on anyone's side!" Danny shouted as he felt some pain from being tugged.
That was the scene Mr. Lancer walked in on. "Great Julius Ceaser, what's going on here?!" He said causing everyone to look at him. "Who is responsible for this mess?!"
No one wanted to get into trouble so they all pointed at Sam and Tucker and considering they were holding onto Danny, he was blamed as well.

Danny had his arms crossed as he sat in Detention Hall, glaring at his friends.
They spent two hours cleaning the Cafeteria up and now were in the last hour of their first detention.
"Dude, tone down the glares." Tucker said with a shrug. "It's not my fault she caused this."
"Oh I caused this?" Sam asked glaring at him. "None of this would've happened if you never broke into the Meat Locker, I hope it was worth it."
"Fighting for what's right is always worth it." Tucker said and Mr. Lancer was about to intervene when Danny exploded.
"WILL YOU BOTH SHUT IT?!" Danny shouted causing both of them to look at him in shock. "I was hoping you two would get over this stupid argument by yourselves but I've had it with this!"
Tucker opened his mouth, but Danny continued.
"Tucker, you are overreacting to this way too much, if you want meat then bring it from home, don't start a freaking food fight!" Danny said as Tucker winced.
"Ha." Sam said with a grin before Danny turned to her.
"As for you, not everyone can be an individual." Danny said to her. "And you weren't even giving people choices in what they want before you did this."
Sam winced and Mr. Lancer leaned back seeing what Danny was doing.
"Now you both are going to hug and make-up!" Danny said as they began speaking.
"With her-?!"
"No way-!"
"HUG AND MAKE-UP!" Danny shouted scaring them so much that they did a quick hug.
"Sorry." They both whispered as Danny gave a nod.
"Now we're done with this." He said sitting back down as he laid his head down to sleep through detention.
"... Has he ever been that angry before?" Sam asked as Danny began to snore.
"No he hasn't." Tucker confirmed.

Did he feel guilty about shouting at his friends?
Yes, he did that because he was stressed over them and trying to find out where the other ghosts were and he took it out on them to avoid going insane.
Did he regret it?
Hell no, it stopped the argument cold, but the menu was still changed for the week.
And now Danny was leaving Detention only to have Sam and Tucker waiting.
"Hey Danny." Tucker rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry for getting you involved in this."
"Yeah." Sam said looking apologetic as well. "I guess we did get a little carried away."
Danny gave them a look. "A little?"
"Alright, a lot." Sam admitted. "Any chance we can make it up?"
"... Nasty Burger tomorrow and no arguments." Danny said to them. "I want you guys to find something you can get along with on."
"That's a tall order." Tucker said as he gave a nod. "But I'll try."
Danny gave a sigh. "That's all I ask." He said before waving good-bye. "I'll see you guys tomorrow."
Sam and Tucker gave a nod as Danny left the school with his backpack.
He didn't know if it would be possible for them to get along tomorrow and he was nervous that they won't be able to.
'Come on, there has to be something that they both like.' Danny thought to himself before his eyes widened as he remembered them talking about their favorite horror movie The Dead Teacher saga. 'That's it!'
Having a grin at thinking of a starting point, Danny paused as he heard a noise from the cafeteria he was passing.
'The heck?' Danny thought with a frown.
No one was here at this time because he saw the Cafeteria Lady leave earlier that day while he, Sam and Tucker were cleaning it.
So who was in there?
Feeling curious, Danny entered the cafeteria. "Hello?" He called out at seeing nothing. "Is someone here?"
When no one answered, Danny was about to leave when he saw the door to the kitchen swinging back and forth a bit.
Now sure that there was someone in here, Danny cautiously made his way to the door and looked in to seeall of the vegetables for this week splattered on the wall as if someone squashed them in rage.
"What the fuck?" Danny muttered in confusion as he went to enter, but first he looked over his shoulder to make sure no one saw him.
The last thing he needed was to be blamed for his.
Reaching into his bag, Danny pulled out the Ghost Wire as he moved slowly through the area, not noticing the meat inside the meat locker slowly moving towards him.
A hissing noise made him spin around to see that steam broke out of a pipe and Danny gave a sigh.
"Damn thing scared the crap out of me." He relaxed only to feel something slithering up his leg.
Looking down, Danny's eyes widened in surprise that his left leg was nearly enveloped in meat. "The hell?!"
When he went to kick it off, the meat acted as if it was alive and slammed him into the wall, keeping him there.
"Let me go!" Danny struggled as the meat had two glowing green eyes before a mouth formed.
"Did you change the menu?!" It asked in a raspy voice.
"Change the-?" Danny glared. "No I didn't change the menu, who the hell are you?!"
"SILENCE!" The creature roared in his face. "Children shall not question me."
"Well I just did." Danny snarked before the meat covered his mouth as a gag.
"You are of no importance if you didn't change the menu." With that the creature slammed him against the stove before taking off disappearing.
Using the counter to pull himself up, Danny frowned as he wiped the excess meat off his shirt, pants and face. "A Ghost that control's meat?" He muttered shaking his head. "Man, why would this Ghost care about the menu-?"
Then his eyes widened as he remembered who changed the menu.
"Sam!"

Danny was back in the Fenton Ops center looking through the book. "Come on, Meat Ghost, Meat Ghost." He muttered trying to find out who this Ghost was but he groaned as he put the book up. "Great, I can't find it."
He's been at it since he got home, his homework taking a backseat to this due to his friend's life being in danger if she came into contact with this Ghost.
But he also needed a way to disguise himself because he didn't want his parents or anyone else involved with him fighting these Ghosts.
Hell, he was lucky that no one but Sydney saw him fighting the Librarian-.
Danny frowned.
If he does this, then maybe he should bring Sydney in on it as well.
The teen could be helpful in it.
Shaking his head, Danny turned to where he had a suit stored.
It was the Hazmat suit that he was given for if he ever worked inside the lab with his parents.
Except he tweaked it a bit to have it a black Hazmat suit with white gloves, boots and belt along with a black cloak and a full face mask.
Right now it didn't really offer much protection but he was running low on time and he figured if he survived this fight, he would work on it a bit more.
The only good part honestly were the cloak and the mask.
The mask hides his identity of course, just in case he fights this Meat Ghost and it ends up out in the open.
The cloak however was actual tech inside it to be fire proof as well as tear resistant.
So it should help with protecting him.
"Danny?"
Eyes widening, Danny shoved the uniform in a hidden place before jumping in the seat to look like he was on the computer, only he fell and landed on his back as his sister came in.
Thinking quickly, Danny had his arms across his chest. "Twenty." He called out doing a sit-up.
"You're doing sit-ups in here?" Jazz asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Why not?" Danny asked picking himself up with a grin. "It's peaceful up here."
"I guess so." Jazz said before looking at him. "I heard what happened in the Cafeteria."
"With Sam and Tucker?" Danny asked and Jazz gave a nod. "Yeah I had to make them hug and make-up in detention."
Jazz shook her head at the image. "I can talk with them if you want-."
"Nah, I have this." Danny declined to her. "I may have found a way for them to get along."
Jazz pursed her lips because she wasn't sure if it was possible for them due to their personalities, but she didn't say anything.
"So what brings you up here?" Danny asked as Jazz remembered why she came looking for him.
"Right, Dinner is ready." Jazz said and Danny winced. "I made it."
That caused him to sigh in relief. "So no food coming to life?" He asked.
Jazz chuckled. "No food coming to life." She answered.
That was the weird part of being a Fenton.
Their parents tried using ecto energy from their inventions to cook one time and long story short, it ended up bringing the food to life.
Now that was an interesting evening.
"Alright." Danny said walking down with her.
Maybe some food will help him think.

That night, Danny made a decision as he borrowed an Ecto Pistol from the basement and found one of the Fenton Fisher's and he grinned.
He could use this.
The reel on it was a motor so he could use it like a grappling hook.
Picking it up, he saw it collapse into a small shape allowing him to pocket it.
Once he made sure he had that and the Fenton Thermos, Danny snuck into the Ops Center and pulled his costume out of the hiding place.
The Hazmat Suit was weird to put on as it stuck to his skin before he put the cloak on and luckily it hung off the ground a little so he wouldn't have to worry about stepping on it.
Looking at himself in the mirror, Danny pulled the mask on only for it to block some of his vision.
Frowning, Danny pulled it off and looked at it before he snapped his fingers.
In a few minutes the eye holes looked like something out of Spider-Man allowing him to see to the side a bit more.
Pulling the mask back on, Danny looked at himself in the mirror.
"... I can't believe I'm about to do this." He muttered opening the window to the Op's Center and he got on the rail before pulling out the Fenton Fisher where he had a grappling hook attached to it.
... He got it from the Rock Climbing Gear that his Mom had.
Hopefully she won't notice it missing.
Aiming at a nearby building, Danny reached back and threw it as it made its mark and as it latched onto it, Danny tested it to see that it was stable.
"Here goes." Danny muttered as he pressed a button and jumped as the Fisher began reeling him towards the building where he landed in an awkward roll. "Ow."
He needs to work on the Fisher and his landings.
To Be Continued...
This will be either a two parter or an arc.
But right now Danny has only a small amount of gadgets (Ghost WIre to counter intangibility, the Fisher will be worked on to be a grappling hook gun in the future, the Thermos to trap Ghosts and his Ectoranium Knife.)
His Costume doesn't offer much protection because he had to throw it together in a short amount of time, but I figured as time went on he would work on it, especially after the fight with Skulker he'll have some new tech from his suit.
Sydney will be in on the Dark Phantom secret due to him already knowing how Ghosts exist and that Danny fought the Librarian so he'll be an ally.
Oh and I hope you enjoyed how I had Sam and Tucker in this even if it might have gone a little overboard.
But I digress, because the Dark Phantom is officially here.
Even if he doesn't have that as his name yet.
Now for the Reviews.
Coldblue: Thanks, that was exactly what I was going for in the fight against the Librarian with showing his witty banter as well as his disappearing due to him having practice running from Dash during Grade School. I will try to do more on Sydney's character before he becomes a Ghost as well. Now for your questions. 1) That is a good idea, thank you. 2) It will. 3) He will as they make them, but right now he's doing what he can with what he's got. 4) Possibly. 5) Maybe. 6) As time goes on they will. 7) Maybe after Skulker. 8) I'll be doing it myself because I have at least two other ones. 9) I do but I have a plan in showing how dangerous that can be, especially if someone messes with it. 10) He will when he learns more about it, but right now he's staying inside the Fenton Thermos. 11) I had him do that in this chapter. 12) Yes he will. 13) Yup. 14) Possibly. 15) Eventually, yes. 16) Yup.
JP-Rider: Maybe, you'll find out if he stops her from setting the Gorilla free or not when I get to it.
NightMaster000: Well I think he'll do good but he will have to be smart considering he can't really hurt her while she is meat. The Knife was made of Ectoranium and I figured that would be cool for Danny to have. As for the pairing? Right now that's up in the air, not sure who to pair him up with and I will have a poll up after a few more chapters.
DannyPhantom619: Sorry for the wait, but I hope you enjoyed this update and don't worry, in the future Danny will get more weapons.
Phantom Fan: Yup, and when he learns the Lunch Lady's name, he will try to research again, I may have this be an arc to show the fights between them and I don't know about Vlad finding out about Danny's secret life until much later.
Alright that's enough for now, again sorry for the long wait.
But anyways, Spidey signing out!
