Once again I want to thank all the loyal fans who have been sticking with this story, it means so much to me, thank you all.
'Slow night," Doreen mused as she sat with her legs dangling off the edge of a multi storied building, "let's hope it stays quite." she said as she stood up and easily jumped to the rooftop of a neighboring building. She had her headphones plugged into the police scanner that was hidden in her backpack, and so far all crimes were either to far away for her to reach, or the police had them under control. Doreen looked at her watch, it read 3:47 AM, "I'll give it another 20 minutes, if nothing happens, then I'll call it a night." she said to herself.
"Attention all units, we have a minor disturbance at Moon Mountain Family grill-." Doreen didn't wait for the dispatcher to finish as she was quickly jumping form rooftop to rooftop, finally something close enough that she could take care off.
SG jumped down from the roof and began swiftly running through the parking lot, jumping over a moving car that didn't stop for her. When she burst in through the front door she quickly saw the cause of the disturbance, and it made a scowl emerge on her usual smiling face, it was the same man she had taken care of last night, it seemed he had somehow gotten out of jail, and it didn't take long for him to get back into trouble.
"Give me another damn drink!" he yelled at the bartender, to which the bartender shook his head to signal 'no'.
"Squirrel Girl, what a surprise," SG heard behind her and she turned to see the owner of the grill, Jack, looking at her, and at the clearly drunken man, "thought you where in New York?" Jack said as he folded his arms.
"Just moved back, and it seems in good time to." SG said as she began to approach the drunken man.
"Stop harassing the bar tender!" she ordered in her most commanding voice, which made the man look at her.
"Great, the bitch with the tail is back!" he snarled as he stood up and cracked his knuckles, to which SG made a hand gesture that signaled, 'come and get me.' The man snarled and ran a her and threw back his fist for a punch, to which SG simply sidestepped the attack and grabbed him by his shirt and the seat of his pants and threw him out the door with relative ease due to her enhanced strength, and Jack ran forward and locked the door, resulting in the man banging on the locked door for a minute, before deciding to walk away.
"That takes care of that, thanks Squirrel Girl." Jack said as he held out his right hand for a handshake, which SG took.
"I'm just doing my job." SG said with a small yawn, which earned a laugh from Jack.
"Busy night?" he asked the squirrel heroine.
"No, just have to get used to being out this late." SG said as she looked out the door and noticed the man whom she had thrown out, was walking down the street, and decided to follow him.
"How the hell did you get out of jail in less than one day?" SG whispered to herself as she effortlessly used her sharpened nails to climb up a nearby building, as she had decided to follow the man by jumping from roof to roof.
"Could this get anymore boring?" SG said with a sigh and a yawn as she watched the intoxicated man walk down the street and bumping into literally everything in his path, when SG noticed four sketchy looking figures walk out from the alley that the man had just walked past.
"Oh this can't be good." she said as she decided to act before things got ugly. She jumped down from the roof and ran behind the intoxicated man, who heard her footsteps and tuned around.
"The bitch is back!" he snarled angrily.
"Oh shut up," SG snarled, "don't make me regret saving your sorry ass." SG said as the group of sketchy looking individuals all pulled out pocket knives, and took up fighting stances as they had heard the heroines comments.
"Evening boys, care to dance?" SG said as she took up a fighting stance that allowed her quick mobility.
One of the men rushed forward and took a stab at her stomach, to which the heroine grabbed his knife hand and twisted his arm to a breaking point, to where he had no choice but to drop the knife, and SG caught the knife and threw it off to the side. two of the other three rushed at the squirrel heroine, but she smiled and threw their friend at them, and they collided in a hilarious manor.
"Three down, one to-." she never got to finish due to something hard hitting her in the back of the head and dropping down to all fours, a throbbing pain in the back of her skull was distorting her vision.
"Ain't so tough now, are you bitch!" the last remaining thug sneered as he held a crowbar in his right hand, and it was obviously the weapon that produced the injury in her skull.
SG felt a surges of adrenaline and she swept her tail on the ground and it made the thug loose his balance, she followed it up by tackling him to the ground, grabbing his crowbar and snapping it in half with her enhanced strength.
"Take a nap until the police find a nice warm cell for you to relax in." SG said as she with one powerful punch sent the last remaining goon into unconsciousness.
"Morning, how was last night?" Doreen's father asked as she walked into the dinning room, still wearing her pajamas.
"Not so loud please," she hissed in pain as she clutched an ice pack to the back of her head, "got hit with a crowbar last night, I really need to work on keeping my eyes on my enemies at all times." Doreen sighed as she kept the ice pack firmly pressed against the back of her head.
"Maybe this will make your morning, the Academy just called, they are shipping all of your little friends, they will arrive in three days." Doreen's father said as he looked up from his paper, which made Doreen smile, she had deeply missed her squirrels in the few days that they had been apart, and couldn't wait for them to come back to L.A. with her.
