Oh my gosh I'm so sorry I haven't updated this. I haven't watched Redakai in SO long, and I've been so focused on other things and other fanfictions, my life is such a clustered mess. Anyways, I watched half an episode with Team Radikor in it so hopefully I have enough of a feel for them so that I can get this chapter done. I'll try to watch more when I get the chance, but it might be a while?

Onto the story!
Maya, Ky, and Boomer turned to the girl laying on the couch in concern. They didn't expect her to be awake this soon, but they were used to surprises by now.
"What do you remember?" Maya asked her as she got up and went over to the girl, crouching down next to her and checking some monitor that Mooky had found for them to connect her to while looking for the oxygen tank and mask.
"Well," Zair started, clearing her throat after a voice crack, "I remember having a fight with Zane… and he… choked me…" She felt tears well up in her eyes. She hated it when they fought with each other, she just hated it. She say Ky getting confused and concerned, same with Boomer and Maya.
"Do you know why he did it?" Ky asked her. Zair got really confused. Why did these guys care? They were the good guys and she was part of the bad guys. Nevertheless, she answered his question.
"He said it's because I helped you get the Kairu last time…" She told him. He appeared to be thinking about something, but she spoke up again, interrupting him from his thoughts. "Why do you even care, huh? I'm on Team Radikor, I'm your enemy. You should have just left me there to die, but you didn't. Why would you do that?" She asked. Boomer looked startled, beating his teammates to the answer.
"We saved you because you're still a person, Zair. Team Radikor or not, you're still a person. You don't deserve to be killed, especially at the hands of your own brother. That isn't right." He told her in a stern voice that made her think twice about asking again.
"Zair, if you know us, you know there's no way we're letting you go back to Zane. He would try again, you know it." Ky told her, to which she looked down and reluctantly nodded. Kai felt satisfied with her answer and went into the kitchen. Boomer saw what he was doing and smiled a bit before looking at the girl on the couch.
"Hey Zair, you hungry?" He asked. As an answer, her stomach growled and she blushed.
"Y-Yeah, a bit. How long was I out, anyways?" She asked before carefully sitting up. Boomer quickly went over and helped her do so and sat next to her with a hand on her shoulder when she started breathing a little heavily from the exertion on her body.
"A few hours." Boomer told her looking at her wearily. She nodded, seeming to process what she had just been told along with everything else that happened that day.
"You aren't allergic to anything, are you?" Ky asked from the kitchen causing her to snap out of her throughts.
"N-No, not that I know of." She said. She hadn't been expecting a question like that, but I guess peanut allergies are common and deadly. I guess he just wanted to be sure, she thought to herself after deciding to drop it.
"Peanut butter and Jelly seem okay? We also have ham and cheese, we have some grapes, apples, oh and some weird mashed looking thing, but that might be Mookee's so we should probably leave it alone." He said as an afterthought. Maya chuckled and nodded.
"Yeah, probably. I'll take an apple, toss it here Ky." She said with her hand up. Ky tossed it to her without looking and she caught it no problem before taking a bite out of it.
"PB&J for me, Ky." Boomer told him before looking at Zair. "Well, what about you?"
"Just a ham and cheese if it's okay." She said after a bit of thought. She hated asking people for things, it felt so out of place. She was used to taking what she wanted, whether stealing or just grabbing it for herself. And now her enemies were offering her food and she didn't know how to feel about it.
She looked at Maya, who was halfway through her apple, in slight jealousy. She had such great team members and friends who would do anything for her. Zair nearly got strangled to death by her own brother and someone who was supposed to be her friend just stood there silently, not doing anything.
"Zair?" Ky's concerned voice pulled her out of her thoughts once more as she refocused her gazy on him. "You okay?"
"Yeah, sorry. Lost in thought." She said as Ky brought her sandwich to her.
"Hope this is okay, if you need more, just ask." He said before handing Boomer his sandwich and taking his own to the counter and sitting next to Maya.
They ate in silence for the most part. The sounds of the ship, breathing, and light chewing were the only sounds heard while they ate. Since Maya only had an apple, she finished first, then Boomer, Ky, then Zair herself finished. Ky went and collected their plates and put them in the sink before going to the couch and sitting next to Zair, Maya following.
"So Zair, I was thinking," he started, "I don't think we should let you go back to your teammates. Zane won't hesitate to kill you, as we just saw. We can't risk that. If we know it's going to happen, we won't let it."
"Definitely." Maya stated.
"We'll talk to Master Bodai and see if you can come with us instead. You're basically already trained, you just need to know how to use your abilities for the sake of good." Boomer told her. She smiled gratefully at them.
"Thanks you guys. I never thought in a million years that I would be in this situation. You know, you guys accepting me that is. Or even my brother trying to kill me…" She trailed off and looked down, but Ky lifted her head up by her chin.
"We'll protect you. We won't let him get to you again." He told her with a silent promise. She smiled at him and then at the other two.
"Again, thanks you guys. But you don't have to go through all this trouble just for me."
"Look, Zair, if we didn't feel like we needed to, we wouldn't. But we know what we need to do when we need to do it, and this is one of those things." Boomer explained to her. She felt tears pricking at her eyes threatening to shed themselves, but she held them back. She didn't want to look weak in their eyes.
"Now let's find you a room to stay in, okay? I know we have one extra room on this ship." Ky said.
"I think it's in between ours actually, Ky." Maya told him. He nodded and smiled.
"Yeah that's right. Come on."
Zair took a good look at the people she was going to be staying with. They were treating her like an old friend even though she had been literally fighting them for so long. They had great hearts and she didn't deserve it, but they insisted she did. She never thought she would say this, but Team Stax were here real friends after all.
