Merlee sighed, as Dinohatten Mario still hadn't gotten why she showed him the kids just reading stories and playing around. She flipped to the next fairy tale where Mario was playing tag with Peach, Luigi was lying on the green grass of the garden, and Daisy already had the storybook out.

"So, what's today's story?" Luigi asked, while lazily tossing a white and green baseball into the air while Daisy opened up her large storybook.

"How about-" Daisy began flipping through her book until she was satisfied by the story she picked, "the tale of Pinocchio." The two other kids heard this and sat down in front of Daisy, and Luigi came over as well. "Awesome. Let's get started."

Once upon a time, there lived a poor, seven-year-old plumber and carpenter with

a heart of gold who recently lost his parents and little brother.

The plumber and carpenter's name was Geppetto (Mario), and he still grieved

for his family. One night, Geppetto had some leftover wood and decided to

put it to use. He took his knife, and began carving the wood to

look like his deceased little brother, Pinocchio (Luigi). This brought a tear

to his eye as he remembered how much fun they were young

and decided to leave the puppet at his brother's grave until he

noticed a blue twinkling star in the distance and remembered

a story his mother told him. He fell to his knees and prayed that

his brother's soul could be transferred to the puppet in his likeness.

He knew it was a foolish wish and pushed himself upstairs and fell asleep

dreaming of his family once more. A few hours passed and downstairs, a bluish

flash of light crept into Geppetto's workshop, and with a dazzling light

a beautiful woman with platinum blonde hair and wore a dress of

blue starlight (Rosalina). She looked on at the sorry puppet, and brought at a

wand topped with a hollow out star. 'Lily Cricket,' she said and a tiny girl

with chocolate brown hair with orange streaks appeared behind her. 'You will be

the boy's conscience,' the woman with the blue gown said, then tapped her with the wand and she became the size of an actual cricket.

'Yes, Mistress,' Lily said and she hopped onto the puppet's shoulder.

She then looked at Pinocchio, and smiled. 'Dear little puppet, I shall grant you

life, but only if you remain courageous, honest, and true.' She then tapped the puppet with her

wand, and in glow of beauteous light the puppet blinked his wooden eyes for the

first time in forever (Luigi). He looked up at the beautiful woman in front of him and tried to

stand up, but fell onto the counter. 'Hi, Pinocchio,' Lily said, and for the first time

Pinocchio noticed she was there.

'Hi. Who are you?' Pinocchio asked trying once again to stand up only to fall down.

'I'm your conscience, Lilly Cricket,' she answered. 'I guide you on what's right

and wrong.'

Pinocchio nodded when they heard someone racing downstairs from

upstairs. Lilly hid under Pinocchio's hat when they saw, Gepetto still in

his nightdress running downstairs. He gasped, when he saw his puppet trying to

stand up on his own. Pinocchio looked over with his wooden head and smiled at

the young carpenter, 'I'm Pinocchio.'

'But, Pinocchio is dead.' Gepetto said then a thought occurred that this was his chance to be a better big brother than before. 'Pinocchio, you'll go to school in the morning,' he quickly said and raced upstairs and grabbed his deceased little brother's books and ran back downstairs.

'What's school?' Pinocchio asked, his head bent.

'It's place where you'll learn and grow and you're going first thing in the morning,' Gepetto said, putting the books into his wooden arms.

'Will it make you proud of me?' Pinocchio asked, while Lily hid under his hat, and Gepetto smiled and nodded. 'Alright, I'll go to school.' Then Gepetto went to bed, with a deep smile etched on his face.

'Now, Pinocchio,' Lily said, once Gepetto was tucked in bed, 'there will be those who will try to tempt you to do bad things so don't fall for it, alright.'

'Alright,' Pinocchio said, and then fell asleep on the workbench after a long yawn. Lily sighed and Lily summoned a blanket and pillow and gave these to the sleeping Pinocchio. She then flew over to the window and sang,

When you wish upon a star

Makes no difference who you are

Anything your heart desires

Will come to you

No request is too extreme

As dreamers do

Fate is kind

She brings to those who love

The sweet fulfillment of

Their secret longing

Like a bolt of blue

Fate steps in and sees you through

When you wish upon a star

Your dreams come true

She then turned towards the sleeping puppet. 'I really hope you'll stick to that,' Lily said, then fell asleep on the windowsill plant. \

Author's Note: So, before the 'Fanfiction Police' bag me for using "When You Wish Upon a Star", let me ask you how many PAYED companies actually use the song. A lot, huh, and I just love the Disney version.
