Paula frowns when Zatanna uses magic to season the turkey.
Artemis just wanted their first Thanksgiving together to go smoothly, but maybe Thanksgiving isn't the best time to introduce Zatanna and now she's freaking out because her mom is giving her girlfriend the Stare.
Zatanna, heedless of danger, levitates the bird towards the oven.
"Stop."
Artemis can feel her heart chill at the word. Her mother might be retired from supervillainy, but she never let down on the intimidation techniques and Artemis didn't know her mother was against magic.
"That's not enough pepper."
Artemis breathes again.
