The Untold Story of Serena Butterfly
Chapter 3: Matchmaker
Star and Serena walked to school with Marco.
"I like red, I like hoodies."Marco admitted. "So I bought a dozen of them."
"Hey, it's those magic girls!"
A large group of students and the school janitor passed by Star, Serena and Marco.
Star and Serena waved at them.
"Hi, new friends!"Star said happily.
"Good day and greetings!"Serena giggled.
"Everyone's so cool here, Marco."Star remarked. "It makes me wish my parents had tossed me and Serena out of the castle years ago."
"Oh, you two haven't even met the coolest guys."Marco responded with a small smirk. "Alfonzo and Ferguson."
Alfonzo and Ferguson stood next to some lockers.
"Dolittle Quick, here she comes!"Alfonzo said.
Ferguson lifts up his shirt to reveal a face drawn on his stomach.
A girl walks past and looked repulsed.
Ferguson moves his stomach to make it look like it's talking.
"Hey, hey, are those books?"He asked. "Where are you going with those books? Do you like to read—"
The girl slapped Ferguson's face then his stomach's face and walked away.
"Okay..."Serena answered in confusion.
"They're usually cooler."Marco stated.
"I need to fix Ferguson up."Star suggested ready to activate her wand.
"No."Marco replied.
Star, Serena and Marco hear rolling wheels causing them to look to the left.
Jackie Lynn Thomas does a kickflip on her skateboard and rolls through the halls.
Marco had hearts in his eyes.
"Jackie Lynn Thomas!"He gasped.
Jackie skates past Star, Serena and Marco.
"Hey, Star and Serena!"She said.
"Hi, Jackie!"Star responded with a smile.
"Hey."Serena greeted and waved as well before noticing Marco had still hearts in his eyes. "Is she your girlfriend?"
"What? Oh no!"Marco answered while blushing and had a nervous look on his face. "She's just a cool schoolmate."
"I need to fix you up."Star said excitedly.
"Huh?!"Marco said in shock.
"Oh, come on."Star suggested. "I'm almost as good at matchmaking as I am with magic."
"Star don't-"Serena warned.
Star accidentally blasted Marco's face with magic, leaving him with a burnt face and frizzy hair with a bald spot.
One strand of hair was on fire.
"I'm good."Marco replied.
In Marhs Class...
Star drew on her desk while Serena fiddled with her ring.
"Look-look-look-look-look! It's my name! It's my name!"Star commented. "With a star inside a butterfly and two hearts and a spider."
"Spiders are usually my things."Serena stated.
Miss Skullnick slammed a test paper on Star's desk and looked monstrously annoyed.
She hands out test papers to the rest of the class.
"As you can see, class, most of you have done a pathetic job."Miss Skullnick retorted.
"Not me!"Star sad happily while holding her paper. "I got an "F" for fantastic!"
"That's an "F" for fail."Marco replied.
"Huh?"Star said in disbelief.
"What?"Marco asked. "You don't have tests on Mewni?"
Star smiled nervously and looked at her cousin.
"Uh...so Serena what grade did you get?"She asked.
"I got a B+ for brilliance."Serena replied with a hint of pride. "You know since I'm from the side of the family that are aces at maths, what about you, Marco?"
Marco holds up his test paper with a smile on his face.
"Only the best grade you can get: A+ with a smiley face."He responded.
"Lucky you."Serena commented.
"Ooh...I want the best one too!"Star remarked and walked up to Miss Skullnick.
"Wait, don't!"Marco protested nervously.
Miss Skullnick wrote on the chalkboard.
"Oh, Miss Skullnick!"Star said in a sing song tone.
Miss Skullnick crushed the chalk in her hand and turned to Star with a growl.
"Hey, Skullzy!"Star greeted. "Can you please do me a teeny favor and turn my F into an A?"
"You're whining about a lousy grade?"Miss Skullnick questioned with a frown. "I finally got a guy with a boat and he left me at the dock!"
"The dock?"Star asked.
"The dock isn't the important part!"Miss Skullnick shouted.
Star nibbled on her wand in thought.
"I guess I'm doomed to dry land."Miss Skullnick said sadly.
Then idea went on Star's head.
"I got it!"She said happily. "I'll cast a spell to get you the perfect guy and you can give me the perfect grade."
"What?!"Miss Skullnick asked.
"Man Magnet Love Storm!"Star chanted.
Star transformed Miss Skullnick into a hideous green-skinned troll.
The students gasped at the sight.
Serena and Marco rushed up to Star.
"Star, what did you just do?!"Serena said in shock.
"I-I think I turned her into a troll."Star replied.
"Star Butterfly rules!"Justin said happily.
This caused the other students to cheer.
"I'm hideous!"Miss Skullnick screamed in fright.
"Quick, change her back!"Marco suggested.
"Oh, okay, yeah, right!"Star laughed nervously. "Okay, yeah...Lightning Change Back!"
Star, Serena, Marco and Miss Skullnick vanished from the classroom.
In the Diaz Household...
Star, Serena, Marco and Miss Skullnick magically reappeared in Star's bedroom.
Miss Skullnick screamed and ran up and down the room.
"Huh, where are we?"Star asked.
"You just zapped us back to the house!"Marco replied.
"Ohhhh...I wish I knew how I did that."Star said with a smile. "It could really come in handy if I don't feel like using my legs."
Serena closed her eyes and face palmed in frustration.
Then the three young teenagers tied Miss Skullnick to a chair.
The Maths Teacher began crying uncontrollable and made a large puddle on the floor.
"Please don't cry, Miss Skullnick."Star admitted.
"See?"Serena asked while removing the water off her hair. "This what happens when you use magic for everything."
"Star, we can't keep stalling."Marco stated. "You're gonna have to call your mom, she'll know how to reverse the spell."
Star gasped in horror.
"No! I can't ask for help!"She panicked. "If my parents find out about this, they're gonna send me to...St. Olga's Reform School for Wayward Princesses! It's a terrible, horrible place, and no one who goes there ever comes out the same!"
Star began to scream in her bedroom.
"You know if we don't do something soon, we're both gonna end up in St Olga."Serena reminded with a frown.
Afer a few seconds, Star stopped.
"Is it all out yet?"Marco asked.
"Almost."Star answered and screamed one more time before stopping."Okay, I'm done."
"Look, Star, you just need to get the information without letting her know what's going on."Marco replied. "You know, dance around the truth."
"I'm a great dancer!"Star said happily and dances as she goes up to a curtain.
She pulls the curtain back to reveal her interdimensional mirror.
"Mirror, mirror on the wall...Call Mom."Star ordered.
"Calling Tom."the Mirror responded.
"W-W-W-W-W—"Star said in shock.
Tom appeared on the mirror's surface.
"Star!"He said happily.
"No."Star warned with a frown. "No."
"W-Wait!"Tom replied. "You're here, I'm here—"
"I said "call Mom", not Tom."Star replied.
"No! Star!"Tom shouted and his eyes glowed deadly. "DON'T HANG UP!"
Star pressed a button on the mirror and Tom's image vanished.
"I really gotta delete him off my mirror."Star commented with a frown.
Queen Moon appeared on the mirror's surface.
"Oh, Star, darling, what a pleasant surprise!"She said with a smile.
"So, Mom...let's just say that someone accidentally turned someone into a troll with the wand."Star said nervously. "Not that I would do that, no, because that would be completely irresponsible—"
Suddenly there was a loud crash causing Marco and Serena to dash across the room.
"Star, what is going on?!"Moon questioned.
Star quickly closed the curtains.
"Gotta go, bye!"Star stated and closed the curtain before looking at her friends. "What happened?!"
Marco and Serena stood next to a large hole in the wall.
"She jumped out the window!"Marco replied.
Miss Skullnick, still tied to a chair, ran across the house yard.
"Miss Skullnick, wait!"Serena's voice rang out.
Marco tackled her to the ground while Star and Serena landed on top of him.
"Wow, good job, Marco."Star chuckled.
"Wow, good job, Marco."A voice mocked.
The three teenagers saw Ludo and his army of monsters.
"Ludo!"Star said with a frown. "What are you doing here?"
"Catching you at your most distracted!"Ludo answered.
"What?"Star questioned. "I have been way more distracted than this."
"I don't know."Ludo said. "You seem...pretty distracted."
"Nah, not really."Star responded.
"Oh, well...What's that over there?!"Ludo asked and pointed at something.
"What?!"Star responded and looked the other way. "Where?!"
"Get her!"Ludo ordered.
Ludo's army roared causing Marco, Star and Serena to ran away while screaming.
The monsters chased after the three teenagers, trampling over Miss Skullnick in the process.
Ludo climbed up his giraffe minion's neck and jumped onto the back of a flying bat creature.
The monsters approached Star, Marco and Serena, who were ready to fight.
Star jumped into the air.
"Dagger Crystal Heart Attack!"She chanted and fired a volley of hearts from her wand. "Feel the love!"
The monsters flew backward with hearts stuck in their bodies.
Four monsters rushed after Serena.
"Zero Gravity Zap!"Serena shouted.
She zapped the four monsters turning them into floating balloons.
Marco faced down Bearicorn, Big Chicken and Three-eyed Potato Baby.
"I'm obligated to warn you..."He warned and tied a white band around his head."...I'm a green belt with a stripe."
The monsters faked being scared.
Marco picked up a rake and spinned it around.
He smacked Bearicorn and sweeped Three-eyed Potato Baby's legs and striked his face with the rake end.
Big Chicken attacked Marco from behind and pecked at him continuously.
"Ow! Hey!"Marco complained. "Ow, ow! Owww!"
Marco kicked Big Chicken in the beak and knocked him over.
Emmitt appeared behind Marco and cracked his knuckles.
Buff Frog throws a punch at Star, who dodged and bites his arm causing him to scream in pain.
The crocodile minion snaps its jaws at Serena, but the orange haired girl kicks him in the face, slamming him on the ground.
Star spinned around and striked a three-eyed minion with her wand, making a large bump on his head.
Emmitt puts Marco in a headlock and continuously punched his stomach.
"Ow!"Marco shouted "Ow!"
"Rainbow Blast!"Star chanted.
She blasted Emmitt with a rainbow beam.
As Miss Skullnick stood up, Emmitt flew into her, knocking them both down.
Emmitt and Miss Skullnick looked at each other with hearts in their eyes.
"Frost Ice-Cream Bites!"Serena said.
A blizzard of blue ice cream sandwiches with sharp teeth launched onto Two Headed Monster and the Frill Neck Monster, biting them viciously.
"Narwhal Blast! Narwhal Blast!"Star shouted while blasting at monsters and looked at Emmitt and Miss Skullnick. "Awww...Narwhal Blast..."
She smiled at Emmitt and Miss Skullnick while blasting Beard Deer without looking.
Emmitt returned to the battle as Marco fought the giraffe minion and Big Chicken in the background while Miss Skullnick looked lovestruck.
Marco and Serena continued fighting the giraffe minion, Buff Frog, and Three-eyed Potato Baby.
"Hey, Marco, Serena, you two can handle this for a minute on your own, right?"Star asked with a smile.
"Oh, yeah."Marco assured.
"That wouldn't be a problem."Serena commented.
"Cool, thanks!"Star giggled.
All of Ludo's monsters appear behind Marco and Serena.
The monsters all pounced upon Marco and Serena.
Star rushed up to Miss Skullnick, who was trying to climb over a fence.
"Oh, Miss Skullnick!"She said.
Miss Skullnick frowned. "What?"
"See that monster over there?"Star asked.
Emmitt lifted Marco up and tossed him.
"He thinks you're cute."Star admitted.
"Really?"Miss Skullnick asked happily and climbed off the fence. "Ooh! What should I do?"
"Wait right here."Star instructed.
Serena punched a few monsters away while using her magic ring at the same time.
Emmitt stood over Marco and was about to draw a sword.
Marco crawled away in pain.
"Hey there, monster guy."Star said and pointed at Miss Skullnick. "See that troll over there?"
Emmitt gave an excited babbling while running up to Miss Skullnick as Star watched.
Behind Star, Ludo and his army were chasing Marco and Serena.
"Star!"Marco shouted.
"A little help?!"Serena called out.
"Get them!"Ludo ordered. "Get them!"
"Hey, guys!"Star called out and her wand glowed. "I think you forgot something."
The monsters stopped chasing Marco and Serena.
"Huh?"Ludo's Army said in confusion.
"Get the wand!"Ludo demanded.
The monsters run up to Star.
"Thermonuclear Butterfly Blast!"Star chanted.
Serena, Marco, Ludo and Ludo's monsters all screamed in terror on a seven-way split screen.
"Not again!"Star panicked.
A loud explosion covers the yard in rainbow light and butterflies.
Star had a surprised expression, while being surrounded by unconscious monsters and small fires.
Ludo fell out of a tree.
"Whoa-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!"Star chuckled.
Serena held Marco while her ring had activated a big pink bubble that protected them from the blast.
Ludo shaked an unconscious Beard Deer.
"Get up!"He ordered angrily. "Get up!"
"Told you I wasn't distract—"Star started. "Wait, did I just kill that guy?"
"No, he's not dead."Ludo answered. "He's probably just bleeding internally and being a total baby about it!"
He kicked Beard Deer in the head.
"Stupid wuss..."Ludo scoffed and opened a dimensional portal. "Get up, you dipsticks!"
Ludo's monsters stood up, groaning in pain and covered in bruises and shuffle toward the portal.
"Ooh, you're so muscly..."
Serena, Star and Marco look back toward Emmitt and Miss Skullnick.
"Bleh!"Marco said in disgust.
Serena looked at two monsters with a smile on her face.
"Ooh!"Star giggled. "So...now that I hooked you up, how about that A?"
"Honey, please! I'd give you an A-plus if I was still a teacher."Miss Skullnick replied."I'm setting sail with Captain Triceps here."
Emmitt continued doing his excited babbling as he and Miss Skullnick walked to t
"What about my A?!"Star asked.
"Try studying."Miss Skullnick replied with a smile.
A sad frown grew on Star's face.
Marco doea a sad trombone. "Wah-wahhh."
Serena smirked. "Looks like we're both gonna need to spend time on the books."
Afterwards in Echo Creek Academy...
Star, Marco and Serena were back to their Maths Classroom.
Star and Serena told the other students what happened to Miss Skullnick.
"So anyway, long story short, Skullnick ran off with this weird man-bull guy thing to another dimension and now she is gone forever."She explained.
"I guess that means extra recess for all of us."Serena remarked.
"Star and Serena Butterfly rule!"Justin cheered.
The students crowd around Star and Serena, shoving Marco aside, to cheer at the two girls.
"Wow, Star, Serena, that is so rad, girls!"Jackie commented.
"Thanks! But actually..."Star started.
She pulled Marco into the middle of the crowd and in front of Jackie.
"...It's Marco who deserves all the credit."Star finished.
"Yeah, all this was his idea."Serena agreed.
"Really?"Jackie asked with a smile. "That's awesome!"
Marco blushed and chuckled nervously.
The students cheered at Marco.
"You're awesome, man!"
Marco, Star and Serena smiled at each other.
Suddenly there was a bright light and scream.
A dimensional portal opened over Miss Skullnick's desk and the Maths Teacher falls through, smashing the desk.
Then the portal closed.
The students gasped seeing the Maths Teacher.
"Huh?"Serena responded in confusion.
"Miss Skullnick?"Marco said. "What happened?"
"He dumped me, I think."Miss Skullnick replied with a frown. "I don't know, I couldn't understand a word he was saying!"
"Welcome back, Skullzers."Star said with a small smile.
"Get ready for the worst pop quiz of your lives!"Miss Skullnick said angrily.
The students groaned in annoyance.
Jackie looked at Marco disapprovingly before walking away.
Justin kicked Marco's desk away from his and Marco sits down.
"Sorry, Marco."Star whispered sadly. "We didn't mean to embarrass you in front of Jackie."
"Are you kidding?!"Marco asked with a smile."That's the most she's ever talked to me!"
"Then that means I'm even better at matchmaking than I am with magic!"Star said happily.
She accidentally blasts Marco's face with magic, giving his head butterfly wings and antennae.
One of Marco's antennae was on fire and the butterfly wings briefly flapped.
Star tried to blow the fire out while Serena sighed with a smirk on her face.
