A Normal Day turns into a Nightmare

(Edward's POV)

"Daddy, in class today we had a classical music lesson and I knew all the composers already-" I smiled as I listened to Renesmee ramble about her day at school today.

I had just picked her up from school and now we were heading inside our little cottage. The whole car ride she has been telling me what she did today.

Renesmee really likes school, and I'm happy that she loves it. I know she wasn't too fond of the homeschooling and was getting bored. She's a little kid, she needs to socialize and feel like a normal child. Renesmee has spent too much of her childhood worrying about things like the Volturi or her thirst for blood. Speaking of which, Renesmee is very good at controlling her thirst, she has never had an issue. Sure, there has been a few times that she's slipped up, but she's always been really good at it. I'm so proud of her. She reminds me so much of her mother.

"-and then I got a gold star! See!" she exclaimed, pointing to the golden sicker on her purple shirt.

"That's wonderful angel, I'm glad you're enjoying it," I said to her as she swung our intertwined hands.

"Thanks Daddy," she said, giving me a bright smile. I then reach down so I could kiss the top of her head.

"Hey guys." I look up to see Bella make her way over to us. She was smiling brightly as she came over. My wife has to be one of the most beautiful creatures on earth. Her hair was down and she was in a black t-shirt and a pair of jeans.

"Hey love," She said as she reached over to peck my cheek. She then reached down to scoop Renesmee up in her arms and began to kiss Renesmee on the cheeks multiple times. This caused Renesmee to giggle as Bella hugged her tight. "Hey angel, how was school today?"

"Hi Momma! I had such a fun day at school! Look, I got a gold star!" Renesmee exclaimed, grinning as she pointed to the sticker she has on her shirt.

"That's wonderful baby," Bella gushes as she smiles in adoration at our daughter. She goes to kiss Renesmee's cheek once again as Renesmee wraps her arms around Bella's neck.

"Momma, is Jacob coming over today?" Renesmee asked Bella as we made our way into the living room.

"Of course he is baby, I'm sure he'll be here soon. He just had some um wolf stuff to do," Bella told her, causing Renesmee to giggle.

"Alright, thanks Momma," She said as Bella set her down on the floor. I watched as my daughter made her way over to our T.V. "I'm going to watch some T.V," She announced to us as she turned the plasma screen on.

"Do you want anything to eat angel?" Bella asked her as she made her way to the kitchen.

"Yes, can I have a cut apple please?"

"Sure baby," Bella replied as she went through our small fridge. We have a small kitchen in our cottage only because of Renesmee. It's about the size of a smaller walk in closet and it holds a bunch of snack food for Renesmee when ever she's craving human food.

"Daddy want to watch T.V with me?" Renesmee asked me as I walked closer to her.

"Sure baby," I said to her as I go to sit down on the couch by her. She decided to crawl up on my lap while changing the station to a children's station. I sighed a bit mentally. I am going to miss times like this, her being a little girl. I only get such a short time, but I have to enjoy it while I still have these moments.

"Here you go sweetie," Bella said, handing Renesmee the bowl off apples.

"Thanks Momma," Renesmee replied as she took the small bowl into her hands and began to munch on an apple slice.

"You're welcome," Bella responded as she then took a seat next to the two of us. Renesmee then decides to slide off my lap so she was now snuggled in between the both of us as we watched the T.V program. Bella and I couldn't help but smile in adoration at our beautiful daughter. She's our little miracle.

"Hey guys!" I heard Jacob call from the back door as Renesmee's T.V program just finished up.

"JAKEY!" Renesmee squealed, turning away from the T.V and began to run to him, almost tripping the way there.

"Hey Ness," Jacob exclaimed as Renesmee opened the door. The moment she opened the door she sprung at him to give him a small hug.

"Guess what, I got a gold star in class today! I knew all the composers the teacher was talking about!" she squealed in excitement.

"That's great Nessie," he said, ruffling her hair. Renesmee looks up at him as she pats her hair back down to the spot Jacob messed it up in.

"Watch the hair Jake," she told him, causing us to laugh.

"Sorry Ness," He replied, rubbing her back.

"It's fine Jakey, you just have to play barbies with me later," she replied, smirking a bit. Bella and I laugh as Jacob frowns at our small daughter.

"Ness-"

"No buts Jacob Black. Now come on, let's go play hide n seek. I want to finish up our game from last time since it was tied," She said, grabbing Jacob's hand and dragging him towards the backdoor. "We'll be back in a little bit!" Renesmee called out to us.

"Okay baby, just not too late," Bella replied as she shut the back door.

I then peer through the window to see the two playing. I watch as Jacob swirls Renesmee in the air, causing her to giggle.

I sighed, I still wasn't too thrilled about her getting imprinted on by the man who once tried to steal my reason for living. Renesmee is my daughter, my little girl, so I guess it's normal for me to act this way, but still. Not even five minutes after her birth she met her possible future soul mate. But, Jacob makes her happy. I can't take that away from her. I'm not going to take Jacob away from her just because I want to keep her my little girl as long as I can. She always will be my little girl, but I know she doesn't have much longer till she's an adult. She is already in the third grade when really she's only suppose to be about two years old. Every other human parent on this earth gets eighteen years, while Bella and I get seven short years before she is full grown.

"Hey," Bella said, smiling as she snaked her arms around my waist. She goes to press her lips against my cheek as she snuggled into my chest, laying her head on it.

"So Renesmee's all busy with Jacob," She said, trailing off as she peered out the window.

"Yeah, just you and me." I grinned at her. Bella chuckles as she reaches up to kiss my lips.

"You know maybe we can get him to bring her to La Push or back the house some time," Bella said, trailing off as we both took a seat on the couch. "To..you know." I chuckle as I swing her up onto my lap.

"Yeah, I know...Mrs. Cullen," I said, grinning at her. She giggles at me as she reaches out to kiss me once again. She gripped to my shirt as she rested against my chest.

"Edward, is Alice still getting those visions?" Bella asked all of a sudden, her tone curious.

"I think, Alice has been blocking her mind with every possible song and piece of literature she can recite," I mumbled. "She likes to choose a lot of pop songs, I think she knows they'll annoy me."

"What is she hiding though? She can trust us you know?" Bella pointed out.

"I know- but she's Alice, she always seems to be up to something." I chuckled thinking about my sister. "Don't worry, we'll find out sooner or later. Not many secrets stay secrets in the Cullen family."

"Yeah, I know, sadly, but-"

"BELLA! EDWARD!" Jacob yelled from outside, cutting Bella off. It was then followed by Renesmee's high pitched scream.

When we heard that, Bella and I quickly got up and ran outside frantically to see what was going on with Jacob and Renesmee. They weren't anywhere near the house so we kept on running until we found Jacob in the middle of the forest. He was full wolf and he was sniffing all over the place like a mad dog.

"Jake! What happened!?" Bella demanded, getting in front of him. "Where's Renesmee!?"

"Edward, Someone took her! I don't know who is it. They seem unfamiliar to me. He got away with her before I had a chance to even react. It was a vampire..I think?" Jacob thought, looking up at me with fear in his eyes. "I'm sorry I couldn't get her in time, he's fast. Really fast. He just snatched her up like that."

"It's okay Jake," I told him. "I know you wouldn't leave her out of your sight like that."

He nods painfully at me as Bella frowns at the two of us, arms crossed over her chest.

"Edward, Jacob! What the hell is going on!? Where's Renesmee?" She demanded, clearly getting scared about Renesmee's safety.

"Someone took her. Apparently he's really fast, but some guy has her," I said, beginning to try to see if I could sniff my daughter out.

"Who? What is he?" Bella asked frantically.

"A vampire, possibly," I said.

"Someone's going to pay," Bella growled as she then dashed through the forest. Jacob and I followed her as we tried to find any sign of Renesmee, but we couldn't find anything.

"She could be anywhere!" Bella cried out, clearly frustrated.

"We'll find her, and when we do I'll rip whoever took her to shreds," I growled.

"Not if I get to it first, Dadward." I rolled my eyes at Jacob's thought as we began to look for Renesmee again. We weren't too far from the meadow when we heard a small scream.

"MOMMA! DADDY! JAKEY!" Renesmee screamed at the top of her lungs. Bella, Jacob, and I all stopped what we were doing and headed in the direction of her cries.

"Renesmee!" Bella screamed looking all over for our daughter. That's when I heard a loud thump and the stench of blood fill the air. But it wasn't just anyone's blood. It was Renesmee's blood.
