The day had come. Kagome was putting the last few things in her trunk with the help of Lulu before she would be heading out to the train station. All the plans had been made last night to assure that there would be no chances of Kagome and Draco being seen together. Kagome would be leaving very early in the morning then Draco would go to the train station almost right before the train would leave and make sure to sit nowhere near Kagome or even talk to her.

"Lady Kagome we must get going to the train station as soon as possible, do you have everything you need?" Kagome turned as she slammed the lid of her trunk shut and grabbed the handle dragging it off the bed and onto the floor. Kagome had also decided to send Megami to the school ahead of time since she knew that having Megami in her cage the whole train ride would make her cranky and would most likely attack someone.

"Yeah I'm ready to go" Lulu reached out and grabbing Kagome's hand disappeared in a small *pop* and reappeared in front of the entrance way to the train platform.

"Lady Kagome Lulu cannot enter the platform with you for your safety but Lulu will be spending the year working in Hogwarts's kitchens so if my lady should have any need of Lulu just call."

"Thank you Lulu you have been a great help to me over the summer I shall see you again soon. Just make sure to warn Dobby not to talk to me in public or people will be suspicious." With a small hug Lulu disappeared again and Kagome turned to face the brick wall that hid the Hogwarts express. With a deep breath Kagome took a step and walked right through the wall pulling her trunk behind her.

When Kagome saw the Hogwarts express for the first time she had to admit that she was impressed. Not that she would let it show but if you knew her and looked really close you would be able to see the slight twinkle in her eyes. There was still hardly anyone on the platform so when Kagome boarded the beautiful red train she could take her pick of compartments. Finally choosing one Kagome pulled out one of her favorite Manga's and settled down on the long benches just as the first crowd of students started to board the train. Right as Kagome was really getting into her book she heard the door slide open and an airy voice.

"Hello, there are no more empty compartments left would you mind if I joined you?" Kagome looked up to see a pale girl with long wavy blond hair wearing a weird cork necklace standing at the door.

"Sure come in" The strange girl came in and sat down on the bench opposite of Kagome smiling.

"My name is Luna, Luna Lovegood but most people just call me Looney"

"It's nice to meet you Luna my name is Kagome Higurashi. Why do people call you Looney?"

"Oh that is an easy question to answer I can see things that they can't like Nargles, which reminds me the Nargles really don't like you they are all hiding. But I guess that is to be expected since you are a priestess" Kagome froze and looked at Luna in shock.

"How? How did you know that I am a priestess?" Luna just shrugged her shoulders before settling back into the seat some more.

"You have a pink light around you; it's so pure and soothing it's nice. I can see the same thing with the Nargles but they are the opposite of you. Their light is dark and mean, also the ones that walk and look like humans, their light is so powerful. I can see through their illusions to what they really look like."

"Luna how long have you been able to see this?"

"Ever since I was little, my father calls it heavens sight. Only a few woman and even fewer men in my family have had heavens sight, it is considered a great gift." Kagome moved forward and held out her hand.

"Luna can I try something I just need you to give me your hand" Luna reached out and held Kagome's hand, for a second nothing happed then Kagome seemed to shimmer with a pink light and Luna gasped. The light surrounded Luna but as it did the pink started to dim, it was still there but barely noticeable. Letting go Kagome leaned back into the bench and smiled.

"What was that? It was so pretty." Luna was looking at her hand like she had never seen it before her eyebrows scrunched in confusion.

"That Luna is the sacred light of a priestess" Luna looked like a kid at Christmas but then her smile faded.

"Why did the light dim and look sick when it touched me. Is something wrong with me?" Kagome put a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"There is nothing wrong with you Luna it's just that your priestess blood isn't as strong as mine so the light dims. But you do have sacred blood in you; it's probably been in your family for centuries but has only emerged in the stronger spiritually aware people. If you want I could teach you how to harness your powers so you could be more powerful." Luna's smile returned full force as she lunged forward to hug Kagome.

"Thank you Kagome, Thank you I thought that I was the only one that could see what I see. I know we are going to be great friends Kagome." Patting Luna on the back Kagome smiled down at her.

"Yes Luna I think we are going to be very good friends" Getting back into their seats Luna was about to start asking questions when the door opened again and Ginny Weasley stuck her head in.

"Hey Luna can we join you"

"Yes come in" Ginny came into the compartment followed by Neville and Harry. Taking the seat next to Kagome with Harry and Neville sitting next to Luna she finally noticed that there was another person next to her.

"Sorry I didn't see you there what's your name?" Kagome just raised her eyebrow at her.

"You know it's rude to ask someone's name before introducing yourself"

"Sorry my name Ginny Weasley he's Neville Longbottom and this is Harry Potter" Ginny said pointing to each in turn.

"My name is Kagome Higurashi" Kagome said before returning to her book that was lying abandoned on the floor. Everyone who had been waiting for a huge reaction at the name Harry Potter where shocked when the new girl just turned back to her strange book. Kagome looked up at their frozen faces in boredom.

"What? Are you waiting for something?"

"Harry Potter is sitting right next to you and you give no reaction!" Said Ginny

"So, am I supposed to grovel at his feet?"

"But he is the boy who lived!"

"Yeah so what? I heard about all your little adventures with the philosopher's stone, basilisk and Dementors and from what I can see you got through it all with just plain dumb luck." Harry who hadn't spoken a word since they sat down stood up and got right in Kagome's face.

"I get it your one of those people who believes that I am lying about everything and that Voldemort is not back!" Kagome just calmly looked up from her book and straight into Harry's eyes.

"That is not what I said. I do believe that Voldemort is back, it's just that all of your adventures through the years that you have survived you have survived out of luck. You do have skill yes but you don't use it most of the time in any really strategically way." The compartment was silent after what Kagome had said so Neville tried to break the silence.

"So my grandma got me this really rare plant this summer as a present, it's called a mimbulus mimbletonia and it has this really cool defense system, watch" Neville pulled out a quill and was about to poke the plant when a hand grabbed his wrist in a tight grip. Following the hand up the arm to the face of the person who grabbed him he realized it was the new girl Kagome.

"Don't you dare poke that plant" Kagome growled out.

"W-why?"

"Do you not know what the defense of the plant is?" Shaking his head quickly Kagome let go and sat back down in her seat. "When you poke the plant it spews' stink sap everywhere."

"And how do you know this?" Ginny Asked.

"I'm interested in healing plants and herbs and mimbulus mimbletonia has a lot of really good healing properties. So my dad got me one and when I wasn't looking one of my little brothers went and poked it with a fork. My mom was so mad when she saw her kitchen covered in stink sap that she made my brother clean it all up. It took him hours, there's a reason that stuff has the word sap in its name its sticks to everything. He had to use a kitchen knife to get it off in some places." Ginny just looked at Kagome confused.

"Why didn't your mom of brother just use a cleaning spell, it would have been much faster"

"My mom and younger brother don't have magic I get magic from my dad's side of the family"

"Oh well-" Ginny was interrupted by the door opening and an Asian girl sticking her head in.

"Hello Harry" A flustered Harry turned to look at the other girl blushing like a tomato.

"Hello Cho, have a good summer?"

"Yes very good thanks, how about you?"

"Well it was definitely interesting"

"Well I hope it was the good kind of interesting, I just came to say hello I'll see you at school alright" Cho turned to leave bumping into a bushy haired girl and red headed boy on the way out.

"We found you guys finally, sorry that it took so long but we had to have to prefect rules explained to us"

"Hey Hermione, Ron" Harry said as Hermione and Ron finished making their way onto the compartment. Hermione was about to sit down when she caught site of Kagome by the window.

"Hi I'm Hermione Granger and the other boy over there is Ron Weasley, I haven't seen you around here before you must be new" By now Kagome was getting a bit fed up with people coming in and interrupting her reading. The wizards here where almost as annoying as some of the wizards in her manga 'Fairy tail', but the wizards in her manga where much better.

"I'm Kagome Higurashi" Kagome replied icily hopping that the bushy haired girl would get the message in her voice and leave her alone.

"It's nice to meet you, are you a transfer?" Kagome sighed, guess it was too much to hope for.

"Yes I'm transferring from Japan, my father thought that it was about time I got some real magical education and come live with him here for a year"

"Wow japan that is so interesting what schooling do you have their? Do you learn different magic? How many wizards are there in japan? What are-" Kagome held up her hand silencing Hermione.

"You have to give people a chance to answer your questions if you want answers. I I am not telling you my whole life story"

"Well I-"

"There's no magical schooling in Japan so I went to a muggle high school for most of my life and was home school for my magical education before I started traveling. That is all I'm telling you." Hermione was about to try and ask another question when ANOTHER person opened the door and interrupted her.

"Hello Potty, weasel, mudblood have a good summer" Kagome groaned in her head, of course her baby brother had to come to this compartment. All she wanted to do was read her manga for heaven's sake, why did the gods hate her?

"Shut up Malfoy"

"Better watch your tongue potter I can give you detention now" Draco smiled showing off his shiny prefect badge.

"I can say what I like Malfoy so why don't you just leave!" Draco was about to retort when a warning growl sounded through the compartment and before he knew what was happening he was thrown out into the corridor. He would have fallen flat on his but if his two bodyguards hadn't caught him. He turned to yell at the person who had pushed him and felt his throat close up. Standing in front of him was his big sister and she was pissed off. Now Draco liked to bug his sister but one thing he had learnt is that if Kagome was sincerely in a really bad mood you don't mess with her without being hurt.

"I am sick of all the interruptions and yelling so get the hell out of here before I make you and have you leave with a broken nose got that Gaki" Mustering as much pride as he could Draco turned and left signaling for his two goons to follow. Kagome sat back down after locking the compartment door and waited for the explosion.

"Wow Kagome that was incredible!"

"Wish I had been the one to do it!"

"That was amazing!"

"QUIET" The compartment went silent. "Thank you; now I don't want to talk about what I just did alright so don't ask me any questions about it" Kagome was about to go back to her book when Luna spoke up.

"Kagome what does Gaki mean?" Kagome sighed and the corners of her lips tilted into a small smile.

"Gaki Luna means Brat" For a few seconds it was quiet then the compartment was filled with laughter and giggles.

The rest of the train ride continued on in quiet after the laughing outburst, Ron and Harry played a few games of wizard chess which Ron won every time and Luna was giggling away with a manga that Kagome had giving to her. Ten minutes before the train arrived at the station the boys where kicked out of the compartment as the all the girls except for Kagome, who went to a washroom, changed.

The Train pulled into the dark station and Kagome made her way with the others from the compartment to the carriages. When they got to the carriages Harry froze and started at the creatures pulling the carriages as the others got in.

"They are incredible aren't they" Harry jumped a foot in the air when Kagome came up behind him.

"What are they?"

"They are threstrals, they can only be seen by people who have seen death" Kagome walked up to one and held out her hand. The threstral moved its head forward and nuzzled her face in happiness as Kagome cooed soothing sounds to it. "Come on we better get going or we will be late for the feast"

Getting into the carriage with the others Kagome sat next to Luna while Harry went next to Ron.

"So Kagome do you know what house you will be in?" Hermione asked

"No but I'm getting sorted after the first years are done and I really don't know which house I would be in, I could go in any even Slytherin. But I really don't mind which house I get into." All other conversation was stopped when they arrived at the castle and a stern looking McGonagall was waiting.

"Hello you must be Kagome Higurashi, the transfer student from Japan you will come with me now" Kagome turned and waved good bye to Luna and the others as they disappeared into the great hall. McGonagall led Kagome to a line of first years that were waiting to be sorted. "You wait here and I will call you when you may come in to be sorted" And with that the professor entered the great hall the line of first years following behind her. Kagome waited outside the closed doors for a long time listening to the hat sing its song and then sort all the first years into the four different houses. Finally when Kagome heard the names get into the 'Z's she knew her time was soon.

(Draco pov)

I couldn't stop fidgeting in my seat, the hat was almost done sorting all the first years and then Kagome would come up to get sorted. I'm not sure what house I wanted her to be in or even which one she could be sorted into. If she was with me in Slytherin then I could keep an eye on her but our relationship cloud be compromised.

If she was in Gryffindor then I would be able to make fun of her and pass it off and rivalry but then she could use the rivalry and turn it to her advantage and use it to be able to beat me up like she always does. It doesn't matter though whatever house she gets sorted into its going to cause trouble for me. The hall went silent as Dumbledore made his way up to the podium to make his announcements.

"Welcome back students to another wonderful year at Hogwarts. I hope you have all had a good summer and are ready for another great school year however before we can tuck into a great feast we have one more student to sort. She is a transfer all the way from Japan and haas decided to gain some more magical education here at Hogwarts. She will be placed with the fifth years and I hope you will all be kind to her, now please help me in welcoming Kagome Higurashi."

The doors burst open so fast and hard that they hit the walls and smashed some of the rock causing dust to fall, and from the dust came my stupid older sister Kagome. I groaned as she walked up the aisle past the shocked faces of all the students to the stool with the sorting het. She just had to make a big entrance didn't she. She walked up and sat down on the stool a huge smirk present on her face as the hat was placed and the rim fell over her eyes.

(Normal pov)

Kagome was laughing like crazy inside as she saw the faces of the students and teachers. She sat down on the stool and the slightly mad professor placed the hat on her head but before the rim of the hat covered her eyes she saw the face of her little brother red in anger and giggled.

"Ah what have we here?"

"Hello mister hat"

"Hello to you too, now I need to sort you but to do that I need to get to your memories and you have some very impressive mind walls. Could you please lower them so I can see your memories?"

"Yes but you will not like what you see" Kagome let down her mind barriers and let the hat see her past, the happy and sad parts.

"This is very interesting you have certainly had quite the life haven't you Miss. Malfoy"

"Yes I have but I ask you do not tell anyone my secrets"

"You have no need to worry I have a spell on me so I cannot repeat anything I learn"

"Thank you"

"Now, you are a priestess and a very powerful one at that, I haven't seen anyone with priestess blood in a long time besides the Lovegood girl. You have faced many demons with your friends some much more powerful then you and was even was brave enough to love one, his name was –"

"Please don't say his name"

"Very well, so you have faced many hardships and have come through them strong which shows how brave you are so great for Gryffindor. But you are also very loyal to your friends for never leaving them behind and always being there for them, that is a quality of Hufflepuff. However you come from the Malfoy family and have shown great ambition in your quest to finish the jewel, so Slytherin would be good as well. And lastly you are very smart, coming up with plans to take down your enemies and learning how to use your powers and various weapons, perfect for Ravenclaw."

"So which will you put me in?"

"I'm not sure your brother was very easy to sort and I have not had such a hard time sorting someone since the potter boy. You could fit into any of the houses that you wish, do you have any preference?"

"None in particular I don't mind where I go you can put me anywhere you like I think I could work anywhere"

"Very true child you would be a great asset to any of the houses and would fit in well with any of them. This is difficult, very difficult."

"But you have made a decision haven't you I can hear it in your voice"

"Smart girl you are I have made a decision, I hope to see great things from you in the future"

"You will I am sure of it"

"Good I can't wait to hear of what you will do; now before I say what house you will be in I wish for you to promise me two things"

"What is it?"

"You know Voldemort is back"

"Yes"

"He will desire your power so the first thing I wish for you to promise me is to be careful. I do not wish to see a child like you be hurt"

"Alright I promise and the other thing"

"I wish for you to try and bring the houses together, with all your qualities you could bring all the houses together. Maybe even stop this stupid rivalry between the snakes and lions."

"I cannot promise that it will happen but I will try"

"Thank you that I all that I ask of you, know I think people are starting to get curious after all I have been on your head for ten minutes now"

"Wow that long well then get on with it hat"

"Very well your house will be…"

Haha cliffy you will have to wait till next chapter to find out what house Kagome will be in. Now I am so sorry about the long wait but I have been so busy with projects at school and then when I get home I am in no mood to write. So I can't promise when the next chapter will be out but I will try to work on it and have it out soon.
