Chapter 4- Pickpocket Of The Whitebarrow Village

-Whitebarrow Village,Town Square-
On a warm summer's morning the villagers are gathered around in the town square forming a crowd.
Questions began to surface as the crowd manages to take their attention from the well.
"No way!"A woman gasps in surprise as she witnesses this horrible scenery.
"What happened here?" An old man asks while covering his nose. The bad smell is getting to him.
"Who could have done this?" The town wise man asks while scratching his beard. A mother chases his son away so he wouldn't witness this horrific scene.
"Get away,Michael!"She yells when he refuses to leave.
"What's all this commotion?"The guards appear. They easily make their way through the crowd. The captain takes the lead.
He immediately turns to the wise man after witnessing the scenery.
"What has happened here?" He asks with haste and worry.
The Wise Man sighs in frustration.
"We don't know. But the villagers are starting to panic."Wise Man warns the Captain.
"Hmph... Jan! You and your squad should start breaking this crowd apart. Do it with a cool head so they won't panic. Isei and Kenzo,gather the men from the castle outpost. Hurry!"The captain instructs his men.
The crowd starts to disappear. Soon,it's just the captain,his two men and the Wise Man.
The captain slowly walks over to the bodies and steps in the puddle of blood. He grabs the shoulder of the closest body and turns it around
"Who are they?" One of the guards ask.
"I don't know. This one's face was bashed in pretty good." The captain answers. He soon turns to the other two bodies.
"Could it have been a bar fight?" The other guard asks.
"No,the level of violence here is too much. If it were a bar fight,somebody would have heard the noises." The Wise Man answers this time.
"Then what is it?" The first guard asks.
"We can't deduct the details about this without more information. What we know so far is,this was not just a random brawl. It's too messy and the Second Militia Garrison is just up ahead and they would have heard something. This was more than that." The captain decides.
"Could it be a blood feud?" The guards asks the captain.
"Yeah,I've heard the relations between Ashikaga and Kutsuna have been getting worse." The other guard supports this idea. The Wise Man grabs the long-sword that was swimming in the puddle of blood.
"No,this act of savagery wasn't done by the likes of Ashikaga or Kutsuna. This blade was forged with Dunmerian Steel,something that our simple villagers can't afford."The Wise Man hands the sword to the captain.
"A northern blade? So,they're not from around here."The captain concludes. One of the guards accidentally slips from the ground and lands in the blood puddle head-first.
"Ouch!" He rises to his knees and wipes the blood off his face. He realizes the hard object he grabbed upon crashing to the ground.
"What is this?" He grabs a hard metal from the puddle and wipes off the blood off of it.
"Is that..." The captain snatches the metal object from his man's hand.
"These guys are..." The captain realizes as he sees the insignia on the metal.
"They're royal guards from the Bellum Kingdom. This is the Royal Court Insignia" The captain hands it over to the Wise Man.
"From Bellum? What were they doing here in the first place?" The Wise Man asks,confused.
"They were here for an audience with His Highness,The King." A different voice answers from the back.
"My Lord." The Captain and his men bow their heads in respect.
"Lucius." The Lord Commander answers.
"My Lord,you know who these individuals are?" Captain Lucius asks.
"Yes,they're the embassy that was dispatched from the Bellum Kingdom to discuss a peace treaty with our King. They were supposed to arrive tonight. Obviously,they couldn't." The Lord commander answers.
"Do you have any idea who could have done th-" The Lord Commander is interrupted as a hooded figure runs into him.
"Ohh I'm sorry." The stranger pats his back and moves on.
"A woman?" The Lord Commander realizes from the high pitched voice.
"Hey you! That's the Lord Comman-" One of the Captain's Men tries to yell but the Commander makes a gesture telling him to stop.
"It's fine." He orders and starts to walk towards the Garrison Outpost.
"Urshu,station two more men here. Marcel,set up a perimeter around the castle. No one is to get near this place and no one is to leave. And..." He turns towards the Wise Man.
"I'll join you later,Lucius. I have something else to do." The Wise Man waves and slowly walks away. Lucius and The Commander start to walk towards the other direction.
"As you were saying,My Lord.." Lucius asks they walk.
"I was asking who could have done this?" The Lord Commander asks as he tries to grab the hilt of his dagger,like he always does when he starts thinking about important matters.
"Wha- What the! Where's my dagger?" He asks as he searches for his most prizes possession. He checks his pockets as well,only to be more confused.
"My coin purse is gone too."He realizes as the Captain sighs in frustration.
"Damn it! Not again." Lucius thinks to himself.
The Lord Commander dismisses this issue to attend to the serious matters at hand.
-A Few Blocks Away-
The hooded figure enters a small hut and drops a dagger, a purse and a golden coin on the table before rejoicing at the goods.
"Hehehe! He didn't even realized it. That snobby Lord Ass Commander!" The blonde girl laughs to herself.
"You're never gonna learn,aren't you?" A weary voice calls out,freaking the blonde girl out.
"You scared me,Gramps! How bad of you. I thought they called you The Wise Man!" She jokes.
"I thought you had promised to stop stealing!" The Wise Man yells.
"Geez,won't you just relax? That rich Lord doesn't need these things."She answers.
"It is not up to you to decide that."The Wise Man answered.
"Then who? You,Corvinus?" She asks sarcastic.
"Lucy...Please stop doing this. You are destined for greater things than being a pickpocket in this old forgotten town." Corvinus The Wise Man replies.
"Like you're one to talk. I thought you used to be in the service of Kings in the great East. Now look at you. You're drinking every night,and you almost never leave the Nasty Queen!" Lucy answers back.
"I'm old now,Lucy. As one with experience of this world,I beg of you. Make better of yourself. I won't be around much longer and I won't be able to protect you when I'm gone." Corvinus talks in a weary voice.
"I don't need your protection!" Lucy yells in frustration.
"Lucy,I-"Corvinus is interrupted with the door sliding open.
Three small figures appear behind from the door.
"Lucy-neechan,is everything okay?" A small male child asks while rubbing his eye.
"Did I wake you up? I'm sorry." Lucy hugs the boy then the other two girls.
"No,only Jason was sleeping. We were already awake. Rosalie and I thought we heard a voice so we came!" The little girl yelled excitedly,with a heart warming smile.
"Okay,just go ahead to your room. I'll be right with you." Lucy send the kids away.
"Lucy,you don't have to do this. There are other people who can...You know-" Corvinus said before Lucy interrupted him.
"Don't say the Orphanage! I know what happens to the ones who get raised in there. I can provide for all of us."Lucy replied.
"I wasn't gonna say that. Lucy...My brothers daughter and his husband can take them. She can't give birth,and she told me she wanted a child more than anything." Corvinus proposed.
"No,I can't just abandon them. I-"
"Abandon them? Who said abandon them? You'll be giving them to a warm home with loving people where they don't have to depend on you stealing from people."Corvinus interrupted.
"Lucy,you're young. This is the best time of your life. You should be out there,seeing the world for yourself. When you do,you will realize that you made the right decision. If you still want to come back here after that,they're not gonna be going anywhere." The old man reassured her.
Lucy started crying after that.
"Y-Yeah,okay." She finally gave in.
Corvinus gave a big smile while holding a crying Lucy.
-The Naked Queen,Second Floor Inn, Private Chambers III-
A young woman is walking around the room. Impatiently walking around a table and a glass orb.
This goes on for a while before the orb starts glowing. The woman approaches the orb and waits.
A black hooded figure appears on the orb,without revealing his face.
"So,have you finished your assignment?" The hooded figure asks impatiently.
"Yeah,the ambassador and his guards are all dead. I also burned the scroll they were carrying with them." The young woman answers.
"Good,you have done well. I have another assignment for you." The hooded figure declares.
"What is it,Master?" The young woman asks.
"You are to travel to Fiore,there you will search for two boys. They have been last sighted near Misty Forest to the West. Don't be mistaken,this mission is of incredible importance to us." The hooded figure replied in a deep voice.
"What can you tell me about the boys?" The young woman asked.
"One of them has pink hair while the other has black. They are the Third and Fourth Princes Of Fiore." The hooded figure replied.
"Princes?"The woman asked,surprised.
"Yes...When you find them,eliminate them immediately."The hooded figure ordered before his image in the orb vanished.
"I see." The young woman released her hair from the helmet she was using to disguise herself as a town guard.
Her scarlet hair was shining under the moon light.
-Elsewhere-
"Erza Scarlet...You think she can be trusted?" A woman's voice asked behind the hooded man.
"Who knows... She knows the consequences of betraying us." He replied.
"Yeah,when she takes care of the little royal brats our plan will commence." The woman rejoiced in her own words.
"Don't get ahead of yourselves. There are others who will stand against us." Another voice replied.
"Who cares. We will crush them as well." A fourth voice said in a irritating voice.
