Hola, readers! Hehe sorry that I haven't posted in like a really long time. Well I just wanna let you know that I'm planning to rewrite this story. BUT DO NOT FRET! The new story will contain almost everything in my previous story (like all the humor and stuff) the plot will just be a bit different. OK maybe a lot different. If you're wondering why I'm doing this, its because well I don't actually know either, but I thought rewriting would be fun. This chapter was actually supposed to be purely an author's note, but someone told me that posting an author's note without like an addition to the story was against the rules. So yeah, below this note is my draft for the prologue of the brand new rewritten story :)
DISCLAIMER:(insert usual disclaimer stuff)
ENJOY!
Prologue
Hmmph they're just a bunch of hosers
A strange figure made its way through a pitch black forest. Gigantic trees towered over the figure and his companion.
Why don't they ever listen to me?
The forest was eerily quiet, as if something mysterious was stirring within it.
I wish someone would just notice me for once.
The figure suddenly stopped. He looked around seemingly bewildered.
"Ah, it seems that we've gotten lost," the figure whispered to his companion.
His partner said nothing in response.
"Funny," the figure continued "I don't think I've been to this part of the forest before."
The figure wandered around to observe his environment. The trees surrounding him seemed smaller and not as healthy looking as the trees in the other parts of the forest.
Maybe I should try to go back… it is getting pretty late…
But before he could make up his mind, his companion ran off, as if he caught the scent of someone familiar.
"Hey! Stop! Wait for me." The figure hurriedly chased after his companion, occasionally tripping over tree roots and dodging low-lying tree branches.
This day keeps on getting worse and worse. Maybe if he hadn't attended the meeting this morning things would have gone a lot better. Maybe if they stopped fighting each other and worked together for a change, then the meeting wouldn't have gone so badly. Maybe if they acknowledged his existence and listened to him for once he wouldn't be in a creepy forest chasing after uh..uh…whatshisname. Maybe if they-
The figure abruptly stopped. He had just bumped into something. Even it was dark, he could tell that it was a person.
"Ah, I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there" he said to the other person.
Funny, usually it would be another person saying that to me, instead of the other way around. It was strange though, encountering a real live person this deep into the woods, a real person holding a rather real-looking gun. Wait. What?!
"-You a poacher?" a deep voice interrupted his train of thought.
He could think a few people who would be able to speak even if a gun was pointing straight t you. Unfortunately, he wasn't one of those people.
"Uh…uh…" he desperately tried to form real words out of the frightened noises he was making.
The other man was not amused.
"You know, I don't like people who trespass into MY land and try to hunt animals under MY protection."
Oh gosh, was this the end of him. Was he going to die at the hands of a complete stranger over a little misunderstanding?
His train of thought was once again interrupted by something tugging on his left pant leg.
"…hungry…" his companion mumbled
Huh, so there he is, the very thing that had gotten him into this mess in the first place.
"Is he yours?" the other man asked, lowering the gun.
He realized he was talking to him, "Y-yes" he managed to stutter out, taking his companion in his arms. You are definitely going to receive a scolding later.
"Someone like you shouldn't be wandering out here in the middle of the night." The stranger said to him.
"I got a little lost and I-I don't really know how to get back to where I came from" he shyly replied.
The forest was quiet around the two of them. Now that the figure wasn't trembling out of fear, he examined the stranger more closely.
The stranger was definitely a male, he wore some kind of uniform, judging by the shape of his silhouette. He still couldn't see the stranger's face and upon closer inspection he realized he was wearing a pair of shades. He was pretty sure the stranger couldn't see his face either (which was probably covered by dirt and leaves) since his hood cast a shadow on his face.
He must have seemed pretty frightened, because the stranger awkwardly continued.
"I mean, I know this area and everyone in this area pretty well. I think I could send you off in the right direction."
Might as well give it a shot
"My n-name is Matthew Williams" he whispered in a shaky voice.
The stranger flinched slightly at that name.
"Is this a joke?" the stranger asked in a monotone voice.
Oh no, right when he thought he could get to home in one piece, his name just had to be something to offend the intimidating stranger with a gun.
"S-sorry, maybe I should go now" Real smooth Canada
As Canada turned to leave, the stranger grabbed his shoulder. Canada gulped involuntarily. He was definitely done for now.
"I do know one person with that name-" the stranger said.
Yes! Maybe this was one of his citizens who recognized him!
"-and you're looking right at him"
"W-what?!" Canada stutters out, hopelessly confused and slightly creeped out
With a sigh, the stranger slowly raised the shades covering his eyes.
At the same time Canada raised his hood in order to see the other man's face more clearly.
WELL I HOPE YOU ENJOYED! (EVEN IF THIS WAS LIKE A BIT MORE SERIOUS THAN THE USUAL STUFF) WISH ME LUCK!
