To Help A Loved One
Chapter 4
1 Year Later
Bella's POV
It's been a year since the beginning of my change. My family decided to throw a small celebration party. And by small, I mean huge. Their small is equivalent to the largest I've ever seen. They remind me of people from my past. My human life but I can't quite remember who.
But back to the party. They have me cornered in my room, dressing me up. Make-up, hair, clothes, even to my nails. I don't see what the big fuss is but that's just what Maribel, Nina, and Willa are like. They are obsessed with fashion, cosmetics and the latest trends.
They have turned the house into a ball room design with glasses of blood and human donors in a dungeon like room, down stairs for the guests. All the Vampires that we are close friends or friends of friends have been invited.
It's turned out to mainly be a get together for vampires than a celebration for me, but I'm definitely not complaining. It takes the attention away from me. The girls have finally finished with dressing me up, and have moved on to get themselves ready.
I got up from the end of my bed and walked out of the room, leaving them to do their thing. I walked down the long hallway to the staircase. All the while looking at the immaculate set up for the party. Streamers of gold, silver and blood red were set in rose looking designs going along the staircase rails and the roof.
Once I made my way down the staircase I walked towards what was once the lounge room. The Television was no longer on the wall and the leather lounges were nowhere in sight. I was soon interrupted from my sightseeing of the house when Luke tried to sneak up on me to no avail.
When will he learn. Instead he just shouted a large "BELLLAAAA" as he ran towards me, knocking me over and across the ball room. "LUKE!" He pouted his signature pout. "Really Luke?" He started his puppy dog eyes and I sighed. There was no way anyone could stay mad at him for too long.
"YAY! I win." Luke said with a large shit eating grin on his face. Asshole. "What do you want Luke?" I asked. He walked towards me with his hands behind his back. "What are you hiding?" I asked suspiciously. "Nothing…" He continued to get closer to me. "Sure."
Once in front of me his hands whipped out from behind his back to show a square like box wrapped in Silver wrapping paper and a large Red ribbon. My eyebrow rose as I asked "And what is this?" He laughed and replied "It's your present."
He continued as his grin got larger. "It's from all of us. Then some have separate ones though." I know this is mean to say but, why are they trusting it to him to give to me? Well he can be a bit of a dope sometimes but he can be serious when needed.
I reached out for it and he quickly pulled it away from my grasp. Seriously. He laughs and puts it back in place in front of me. I reach for it again, only for a repeat of before. "Luke!" See this is what I mean. He laughs louder than before.
"Okay okay. Spoil my fun." He pouts and puts it into my hands. I unwrap it to find a jewelry box inside. A necklace laid inside. It was beautiful. It was pure white gold. It had vines leading down towards a rose like diamond in the middle. With icicles flowing from the vines around the rose.
"Wow. This is so beautiful. I love it! Thank you." Before he had the chance to reply I threw myself into him for a hug. He was stunned for a second before giving me a bear hug tighter than his usual ones. I pulled away to the sounds of laughter throughout the room.
I looked up to find everyone there in their ball gown attire laughing. It was contagious and soon both Luke and myself joined in as well. Once the laughter died down I went to both Maribel and William first and gave them a hug each, saying thank you along the way.
After hugging each of them giving my thanks, the sound of footsteps and tires brought us to attention.
Our guests have arrived.
