Chapter 4: 5 Year Olds

Poseidon's POV

"Ahh! Daddy!" Kida screamed.

I rushed into her bedroom to see what was wrong. There was a tarantula curled up next to Kida. I grabbed her and quickly pulled her away from it. The tarantula tried to speed after her, but I stepped on it with my shoe.

"I guess you got your mother's fear of spiders. It's okay, you have every right to be scared." I hugged her.

"Can you go wash it off your shoe?" Kida begged.

"Of course, I don't want it on my shoe." I chuckled.

She giggled.

"Did you know that your older sister Annabeth is scared of spiders too?" I asked as I walked to the bathroom to wash my shoe.

"She's not scared of anything." Kida giggled.

"She's scared of two things. Losing Percy is one, and spiders are the other." I chuckled.

Kida giggled. I washed my shoe off and watched the tarantula's remains go down the drain.

"Gross." Kida wrinkled her nose.

"If you think that's gross, you should see Arachne, the mother of all spiders." I smiled.

"Don't scare me." Kida hugged me.

"I'm sorry. How about I make up for it by giving you a big bowl of ice cream and letting you watch Finding Dory on the big screen in the living room." I offered.

"Okay!" She got so excited and ran to the living room to get the movie ready.

"She's so cute." Athena said from the doorway.

"I know. How long have you been there?" I asked.

"Since she screamed Daddy." Athena giggled.

"Let's go watch Finding Dory and make big bowls of ice cream." I suggested.

"Okay." Athena gave me a kiss.

So we watched Finding Dory. Ellen DeGeneres is so funny as Dory. She's funny all the time.

"She likes fish as much as you do." Athena giggled.

Kida was pointing at the clownfish.

"That's okay." I said.

"Hey mom, can I borrow Finding Dory? Percy wants to watch it, but I don't want to buy it yet." Annabeth showed up.

"Annabeth!" Kida shrieked.

Kida jumped into Annabeth's arms. Annabeth just grinned.

"You're so cute." Annabeth giggled.

"What about Percy?" Percy came in behind Annabeth.

"Percy!" Kida got back on the floor and jumped into Percy's arms.

"Hi, it's good to see you too." Percy grinned.

Kida hugged Percy tightly.

"I don't know what it is, but she always favors him." Annabeth sighed.

"Percy is a lot like Poseidon, and she's turning into a daddy's girl." Athena smirked.

"And you'll have to wait until Kida's finished watching Finding Dory." I chuckled.

"You're watching it now?! Can I watch too?" Percy asked.

Kida nodded and Percy sat down on the floor to watch with her in his lap.

"But they're halfway through it already Percy." Annabeth giggled as she protested.

"That's okay." Percy said as he pulled Annabeth down next to him.

Annabeth and Kida giggled. Percy just grinned and watched the movie.

"I'm not even ashamed to say that my adult son acts like a five year old." I chuckled.

"That's okay." Athena giggled as she ate her ice cream.

"Can I have ice cream too?" Annabeth smiled.

"It's in the kitchen." Athena said.

"Can you get me some too?" Percy grinned.

Annabeth rolled her eyes as she went to get the ice cream.

"Kida, you have to go to bed." I said a few hours later.

"But I don't want to go to bed!" Kida whined.

"It's okay, Annabeth and I have to go to bed too." Percy wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

Annabeth elbowed him as her face went red.

"Aren't you two trying to have a baby?" Athena turned the conversation less weird.

"Yeah, but Percy doesn't need to bring it up that way." Annabeth glared at him.

Percy raised his hands in defeat.

"It was cute and clever though." Aphrodite walked in.

"I'm going to be an aunt!" Kida looked excited.

"Probably." Aphrodite said. "But it will be more likely to happen if you do what your parents tell you."

"I'm going to bed!" Kida ran to her room.

We all laughed.

"That was manipulative. I like it." Athena smiled.

"I just came to see her, do I'll see you guys later." Aphrodite walked out of the room. "Good luck Percabeth."

"We're never getting rid of that nickname, are we?" Percy sighed.

"Annabeth, will you tell me a bedtime story? Do the ones about you and Percy on quests!" Kida requested.

"Okay. Is the Lightning Thief story okay with you?" Annabeth agreed.

"Yes!" Kida was excited.

She ran back to her room. Annabeth smiled and pulled Percy into Kida's bedroom.

"Do you think they ever get sick of those stories?" I questioned.

"I hope not. Their future children will want to hear them." Athena giggled.

"I love you." I said.

"I love you too." Athena said.

Then we kissed before we went to bed and Annabeth and Percy went home soon afterward.
