Inosolan – Glad to know you have some excitement for this story. Jake doesn't really have a plan I don't think. Usually he is very together and organized but Leah's really the only one who can make him come undone and turns his mind to jelly goo. His general plan was just find her find her find her and he knew he'd be divorcing Bella when he married her, it was inevitable to him. He's mostly going on instinct ha.
Babaksmiles – Thank you! Leah is going to be affected by it in one way or another, yes. Losing her shit I think is a definite possibility for her reactions towards the issue.
Brankel1 – it's what I strive for! And thank you for keeping us in your prayers, thank you so much.
Hgmsnoopy – Yes, yes you may. I'm sorry you never wanted her found. Jake's just really good at hide and seek. Off they go to La Push! Yeah…Jakie's got some ish-shews. I definitely do though, so don't worry. Leah's going to be the one to bring them out in him and help him change. She's like his redemption because he'll want to be a better person for her because he thinks she deserves the best.
Tara Maria – Yeah I did. Yep he did. She already found out about Bella, she just didn't really register it too much or focus on it at all. Loll idk man, Jake's naughty for thinking about her while being married I guess. Thanks for supporting the story!
AllieBlack16 – thank you so much for understanding and for supporting my story. I was actually kinda worried I'd lost readers with how long this update took.
JTCA – thank you! here's more! And a little longer than usual.
Chapter 4
Isabella looked first at her husband, then at the girl who stood by his side. She was clasping his hand and there were tears in her eyes. Who was she? Who was this slut that Jacob had brought home with him? The girl stared at everyone. Her gaze kept hopping from Indian to Indian.
Emanuel or Ethan or whoever was beaming like a maniac as he moved forward to engulf the tan girl in a bear hug. Hm, with her skin color, dark brown hair, brown eyes, and admittedly very pretty face and stuff she kinda blended in with the rest of the Indians. She must be Jacob's other sister, the bitchy one who didn't even bother to come to the wedding. Tropical storm headed for Hawaii, my ass. Isabella scoffed to herself.
Isabella put on her best fake smile and pushed her way into the tight semicircle that had formed around the girl. She held out her hand, ignoring the hard suspicious glare Jacob was giving her.
"Hi, I'm Bella. Jakie's wife. It's so great to finally meet you. Jakey hardly even talks about his family. I didn't even know you were coming for a visit." Isabella heard the guys making irritating noises. Some groaned, some snickered, and some held their breath.
Leah stared at the woman, Bella, ignoring the hand she held out completely. Leah didn't know why, but Bella annoyed her. She wanted nothing more than to just tell her off.
A million thoughts flew through Leah's head. Like if Jacob already had a wife, why did he even need her? Why had he bothered to even look for her? Why had he come all the way to Texas?
She felt her heart sink to the pit of her stomach. Jacob had all but replaced her in only a year. How long had he and Bella even been together?
"I'm Leah and I'm not Jake's sister. We're betrothed." Bella's face was priceless. Jake's hold on Leah's hand grew more secure and he cleared his throat, gesturing at Embry to get Isabella away from them.
Embry gave a small nod of his head. Before anyone, save for Jacob, could react they noticed that Isabella had raised a shaky hand. Jacob calmly pushed Leah behind him.
Now that Leah was actually here, tangible instead of only a dream, a thought, a hope, Jacob felt guilty for having used Bella the way he did. What would Leah think of him now? To her he'd probably be nothing but a weak, monstrous, jackass, excuse for a man. He felt ill at the thought of Leah being so disappointedly disgusted with him.
His only comfort was the fact that Bella had been cheating on him since nearly the beginning. Probable cause for an annulment. He scoffed. It wasn't like the Elders would give him a hard time about getting one anyway. They would trade in Bella for Leah in a millisecond.
"Stay away from my Leah." Jacob said sternly, staring down at his wife warningly. Leah pinched him, retching at the thought of being called his.
She drew her attention away from the bitch fit that ensued, with Embry trying to pull Bella off somewhere and her refusing, and searched around for Seth. Where was he? She did a head count: Jared, Paul, Embry, Quil, Collin, Brady, Jake…no Seth.
"Where's Seth?" she whispered to Quil. He shrugged and said he hadn't seen Seth since yesterday. Quil asked Paul.
"He went on a run, Lee. Should be back any minute." Leah smiled, scrunching her nose in disbelief. Seth's preferred activities included video games and eating, mostly ice cream.
"What? Sethy doesn't–" she stopped short, remembering what had happened. She'd left. People moved on and things changed. Apparently people had changed too.
Leah tried to choke back tears. A single tear stole its way down her cheek, making Jacob whip around, instantly ending his argument with his wife. She had been fine two seconds ago and now she was crying.
"Leah–"
"Don't. I fucking hate you Jacob." She spat before she tore off into the woods, blaming Jacob for everything she had missed.
Of course she knew that she had had a lot to do with it too. After all she had been the one to actually run away. But it was mainly his fault. He hadn't left her with any choice. He'd morphed into a giant beast and attempted to murder her best friend for godssakes.
She'd missed such a chunk of Seth's life in only a year. She'd missed the fact that Jake and everyone had gotten hitched. She'd missed out on going to college. Ugh, she was so stressed nothing seemed coherent anymore.
Leah stopped running and looked at her surroundings. Leah knew she'd been gone for a bit and that nature changed to keep check and balance and all that but she had no clue where she was. Leah only hoped that she hadn't slipped into the forbidden part of the forest. Her dad had always made the boundaries clear to her. She'd always listened.
Jake's heart was pounding in his chest at the speed of light as he dashed through the forest, chasing after Leah's unique scent. He cursed profusely in his mind. If it weren't for those goddamn idiots I'd be right next to her right now. Quil and Embry had attempted to hold him back for a little bit. They tried to persuade his to give Leah some space and time to breathe. It's a lot that she's taking in at once, Jacob, they insisted.
The longer he held back the more restless he grew. Leah wasn't safe without his protection now that she was back. This was enough to make him anxious enough to threaten Isabella to shut up and Alpha Command Quil and Embry. At least Jacob had taken a bit of their advice into mind. He was still in his human form, chasing after Leah. He wasn't as fast as he would be were he a wolf right now, but he still picked up an admirable amount of speed.
Jacob finally caught a break. But it made him more anxious. He didn't like where he was heading. It was Leech territory. Technically he was not allowed over here. But for Leah he'd gladly break the damn treaty and brawl with a few vamps.
"Leah!" his voice boomed, bouncing off the trees, echoing scarily. "Leah, please come with me and I'll explain everything." She appeared from behind a cluster of trees, quickly closing the distance between them.
"Explain? There's nothing to explain Jacob Ephraim Black. What part of I fucking hate you don't you understand? I came with you willingly for Seth and Seth only. I don't want to see you or think about you or be within 100 feet of you really. I don't want or need your 'explanations' so why don't you take them and shove them up your life-ruining ass."
"As much as I hate it, I'd have to agree with the Quileute. You know the rules, mutt. I don't care much for your explanations either. As per the treaty I get to rip you apart now." Jacob growled. It was a pure, guttural, angry sound from deep in the pit of his stomach. Rosalie.
Quicker than Leah could comprehend or think was possible, Jacob had grabbed onto her tightly, placing her atop the highest and most stable tree he could find. He hopped down from the top of the tree, scaring Leah out of her wits. What was he doing? He'd kill himself! But mid-fall he phased into the beast she'd seen a year ago. The second Jacob touched the ground he charged at the blonde leech, kicking up dirt as he sped towards her.
The blonde woman ducked as Jacob pounced. Leah screamed. But the blonde seemed so calm. She was smirking. Leah didn't really know why she did what she did next, but it felt wrong. She didn't care in the least.
"Hey! Hey, Blondie, help me!" she called out. The woman's head snapped to where Leah sat perched on a thick branch. Her golden eyes locked onto Leah's and she narrowed her eyes, assessing her options. She quirked her brows briefly and in a flash Leah was in the blondes grasp, the scenery a blur as she ran off somewhere. Leah sighed in relief, too grateful to be away from Jacob to ponder what was up with this girl. "Leah. Thanks for the help."
"Rosalie. You're not welcome." Rosalie replied very shortly. Was this girl mental? Or was she simply unaware of the truth about Jacob, his species, her heritage, and her species?
"You're a bitch." Leah stated, her face stoic, like it was just a passing observation rather than an insult. Rosalie was impressed.
"You're in danger." Rosalie fired back.
"You need to work on your threats." Leah could tell that, though they were most likely bantering, Rosalie was serious. Leah had gotten a bad feeling about her sudden outburst to Rosalie. It had felt wrong. It still did. And yet she couldn't bring herself to care. Anything to drag her away from Jacob.
"You need to work on your trust issues" Rosalie smirked.
The little Quileute was a bit of a fireball, feisty. Especially considering she trusted a vampire rather than one of her own. It was obvious that she was something to the pack. Whatever she was she was closely affiliated with them.
What was Rosalie supposed to do with her now though? She recognized that she was now home. Not close enough for them to smell her but close enough for her to be on their 'property' even though the treaty dictated their land. She placed Leah on a tree trunk.
"Are you a bitch because you're pretty?" Leah inquired as she stood up, dusting off her pants.
"More like I'm pretty because I've always been a bitch." Rosalie smiled at the joke that Leah was obviously lost on. Whatever. Leah didn't really care enough to question it.
"Weird. Thanks for your help, Rosalie."
"Anytime, Leah. Here, take my number. And if you ever need help just cross the border."
"Yeah, the…border." Leah nodded and smiled at Rosalie. Rosalie smiled back and they parted ways.
Jacob tore down trees, ripping them up from the root and throwing them elsewhere. Sometimes they rolled off the cliffs and into the water. He didn't even stop long enough to realize that people could be down there in the pseudo-hidden nooks of the beach. The some cliffs stopped at the sand before receding to pure water.
A fucking leech took Leah. Fucking Rosalie stole Leah. Again, Jacob did not stop long enough to realize that Leah had been the one to acquire Rosalie's attention and ask for her assistance.
Jacob was so wrapped up in the destruction that he hardly noticed Seth charging at him until the large mass of fur and claws had tackled him to the ground. Jacob phased faster than his wounds healed.
I am going to fucking kill you, Black. Fuck being my Alpha. How dare you fucking kidnap my sister after forcing her to run away in the first place and then let her be kidnapped by a fucking leech?! You're faster than they are you know. You're such a fucking asshole! You claim to love her and then you let her get fucking kidnapped. No wonder she fucking hates your guts. I'm going to enjoy ripping them out.
Seth slashed his paw at any part of Jacob he could, tearing off bits of flesh as he did. He relished in the pain he was causing Jacob. Seth didn't mind that his muzzle bloodied as he bit into Jacob's side as his Alpha rose. He saw nothing but red and quickly pinned Jacob to the ground again.
Jared and Embry finally intervened, pulling Seth off of their Alpha. They both knew that Jacob wouldn't dare strike back against Seth. Especially not over something as serious as Leah. She was precious to them both. Who loved her more was hard to tell at times. Besides, it was scary that Seth was being so violently enraged. Usually the kid was happy-go-lucky with a side of dopey.
"Where's my sister?" Seth shouted, struggling to attack Jake once they'd both phased back.
"Sethy?" four pairs of ears perked up and the sound of Leah's voice. She was safe by the sounds of it. "Sethy, you're okay!"
Leah ran up to them from out of nowhere and latched herself onto her huge younger brother. She had so many questions for him, so much to catch up on with him, but right now she was just happy to be with him again. She'd missed the plucky little rascal.
"Lee-lee." he breathed out a deep sigh. "Don't ever do that to us again, Lee." Seth admonished softly.
"We were worried, shorty." Embry said, joining in on the siblings' hug. "Their kind is dangerous."
"Come on, Lee." Seth pulled his sister along gently. "We'll take you home and give you a minutes rest."
Embry and Seth released Leah from their bear-hug, leaving Jared behind to deal with their still recovering Alpha. Embry stayed mostly quiet, the siblings needed their space for the time being.
Knowing Jacob he'd pop back up like a daisy and whisk Leah away. And with Leah's track record, disappearing for a year and just getting kidnapped by a leech, he was never letting her out of his sight again.
