Chapter 4

"Ikuto w-what are you doing?" Amu stuttered finally taking a step back from the older boy. He seemed to tower over at that moment just gazing down with a calm blue eyed look that made her mind go blank.

"Where are you going Amu?" Ikuto asked titling his head to the side slightly as he stuffed one hand in his pocket.

"I have to meet my friends." She answered her eyes never leaving Ikuto's. It was like they were having a staring war and neither knew it.

"How about you forget about them, and come with me?" His lips pulled back sideways in a grin as Amu's faced turned a light pink. Her mind was still blank enough to keep her from completely registering his words and blushing harder.

"Do you want to Amu?" Ikuto chuckled lightly realizing the effect he was having on her. The chuckling sound seemed to snap her back into realatiy and she blushed all the way to her ears.

"You should come with us Miki." Yoru said from behind them. Amu looked over shoulder to see Miki turning a light pink color as Yoru tried to convince her to come.

"I'll only go if Amu-Chan goes." Miki mumbled. She gave Amu one of those looks that you just can't ignore.

"Alright." Amu tried to sound less then thrilled about the idea but she couldn't hide the small upturn of her lips as she looked back at Ikuto.

"Then lets go." Amu squeeked when he grabbed her hand and pulled her down the street.

"Are you sure she got the message?" Tadase asked Amu's mother over the phone.

"Yes, I gave it to her and she took off right away." Her mother answered.

"Why has she not shown up yet?" Tadase heard the tinkling sound of worry sprinkle through phone.

"No she hasn't shown up just yet, but will go look for her. I'm sure she just got lost. Thank you." Tadase hung up the phone and looked at the others crowding around him.

"So she's not at home?" Kukai asked frowning at Tadase.

"Her mother said she left an hour ago." Tadase answered giving the others a frown of his own.

"We should go look for her in pairs." Nadeshiko suggested in her cool calm voice. But even she showed signs of concern.

"Yaya and Kukai will go together." Yaya said latching on to the older boy's arm immediately.

"Alright, Nadeshiko and I will go uptown you guys can go down town." Tadase said and the group split in two to look for the missing girl.

Amu looked sideways at Ikuto walking besides her. Then her eyes slid down his arm and towards their hands, which he still held between them. Her blush had lightened now and it was just a light pink hue across her cheeks. They had been walking like that for almost two hours now and strangely enough….it felt so natural to Amu.

Neither had said much during the two hours they just simply walked through the town aimlessly, or at least that's what Amu thought.

"Took longer then I thought." Ikuto mumbled startling Amu with the sudden sound.

"Huh?" She looked up at her surroundings realizing for the first time that Ikuto had led her somewhere.

"Where are we?" Amu asked looking out over the town. They were on a hill that over looked the entire town. You could even see the school from this point. It looked so beautiful.

"I like to come here and just relax." Ikuto said looking at the view with Amu. She looked away abruptly and lifted her eyes to him.

"Thank you Ikuto." She said softly. He blinked down at her.

"For what?"

"For sharing this with me." She smiled briefly at him making him smile in return.

"No problem Amu." He released her hand and walked over to the bushes and produced a plastic bag weighed down with its contents.

"Something to snack on." Ikuto grinned as Amu peered inside curiously.

"Candy?" She laughed as they settled down on the grass and poked through the various treats inside.

Mean while back in town

"We're going home Miki." Ran and Suu said as Miki and Yoru watched Amu and Ikuto walk away.

"What, why?" Miki didn't know whither to be thrilled or frightened.

"Because we're tired, have fun with Yoru we'll see you at home." Then they were gone in a blink of an eye; leaving poor Miki and Yoru alone to glance around and blush at the silence.

"Um, come with me." Yoru said and quickly grabbed Miki's hand and dashed out into the city.

"Let me see. Let me see!" Yoru whined flying around Miki in an attempt to see her drawing.

"I'm not finished." She protested clutching the sketch book to her chest as her face turned pink. Yoru laughed at that and waited putting an impatient face on. Miki watched him suspiciously for a few minutes before returning to her drawing.

Yoru sighed as he waited and glanced around the playground they had ended up in. He hadn't really known where to take the chara and it was just an accident that they wound up here. But she seemed to be enjoying herself, and that made Yoru happy.

"Alright I'm finished." Miki announced happily as she put her pencial away.

"Let me see." Yoru flew over to her but just before he could get a peek at it someone's voice interrupted them.

"Yoru! Miki!" The two charas turned to see Tadase and Nadeshiko racing towards them.

"Where is Amu?" Nadeshiko said when she couldn't see her friend anywhere in the park.

"I don't know." Miki said looking at Yoru as he glared and made faces as Tadase's chara. (A/n: lol sorry can't remember or spell his name XD).

"Where's Ikuto then?" Tadase asked looking at Yoru with a dangerous look.

"I don't know where he is. He just grabbed Amu and ran off. I don't keep track of him." Yoru said folding his arms over his chest and sticking his noise in the air.

"Ikuto grabbed Amu and ran off?" Nadeshiko asked carefully her eyes widened a little.

"That's what I said isn't it?"

"Tadase."

"Yeah lets go now." Tadase and Nadeshiko disappeared as quick as they came. Miki looked after them her large blue eyes filled with worry.

"Yoru why were they so worried?" She asked looking back at the chara. He sensed her concern and looked back to see her practically drowning in it.

"I don't know." He answered with a tone that made her frown at him.

"Sorry Miki, if it'll make you feel better we can go look for them." Miki nodded and took Yoru's hand as they flew off.

"Did you guys find her?" Kukai asked after they had been searching for over four hours for Amu.

"No, but we think we know what happened." Nadeshiko said looking sideways at Tadase. He was red in the face and unable to speak.

"What's wrong with him?" Kukai asked eyeing the king with a anxious glance.

"We think Ikuto kidnapped Amu."

"What!" Yaya burst out her hands clasped under her chin and she stared at Nadeshiko unbelievingly.

"Why would he do that?" Kukai demanded. He knew Ikuto had some feelings for Amu and even if she didn't know it she did too. Why would Ikuto kidnap her? There must be some misunderstanding.

"I don't know. We asked Yoru when we found him with Miki and he said that Ikuto grabbed Amu and ran off." Nadeshiko answered in her calm collected voice.

"Yeah, we found Ran and Suu at Amu's house but no Amu." Kukai said folding his arms over his chest in concentration.

"It just doesn't make any sense." He muttered thinking hard.

"It doesn't have to." Everyone looked at Tadase as he spoke.

"Amu's been kidnapped and I'm calling the police."

"This was a lot of fun Ikuto. I'm glad you took me out here." Amu said smiling out towards the sunset. They had been out here all day and it had been just perfect. Ikuto being smart, had packed other things to eat besides sweets so neither of them got sick.

"More fun then hanging with the kiddy king?" Ikuto asked leaning back on his hands as he stretched his legs out in front of him. Amu glanced at him a little surprised and blushed lightly as he smirked at her.

"Yeah, I guess so." Amu answered a little sadly plucking a few strands of grass from the hill.

"What's with that tone Amu?" He asked gently. As if he could sense he was entering sore territory.

"Well with you I know that you, um, hang out with me because I'm Amu." She started blushing darker.

"But with Tadase I can't tell what he likes about me. He likes Amulet Heart, but that's not all of me. I want him to like me, for me." She glanced at him. He was just staring at her with a calm, soft look.

"Well I definitely like Amu, for being Amu." He grinned, just a small tug at his lips, but it made Amu's stomach flutter with newly awaken butterflies.

"Thanks Ikuto." She laughed a little nervously through her burning face.

Their eyes locked and neither seemed able to break the gaze.

A/N: Doing that whole thought thing again like with my other stories. Amu's like this, Iktuo's like this.

Why does he always act this way? What is he really thinking.

I bet she's pretty confused right now. I am too, but at least I know I really like her, hell I might even love her. Scary.

This day has been really nice, and last night was nice too. I got to see a different side of Ikuto, and I liked it.

Love, I think I do.

I think I'm really starting to fall for Ikuto. But I don't know when he's teasing and when he's being serious. But he has been pretty real with me all day.

I love Amu.

Why's he smiling like that?

Oops, she saw to much on my face. But that's alright.

"Ikuto what are you smiling about?" She asked with a suspicious gaze that was held up by her smile.

"Nothing Amu." Ikuto responded breaking their gaze. She continued to watch him, then sighed and turned to look at the town again. The sun was setting and darkness was blanketing out everywhere, settling for the night.

"I should be getting home soon." Amu noted titling her head to the side as the sun dipped out of sight.

"Alright." But he didn't get up and instead placed his hand over Amu's and squeezed.

"I-Ikuto?" He looked over his eyes dancing with stars.

"You said soon." She blushed lightly and looked at their hands.

"Soon." She said looking up at the stars.

An hour later

"Amu, wake up." Ikuto chuckled nudging the girls shoulder gentle. Her eyes fluttered open and went wide when she saw Ikuto.

"Ah! I'm so sorry." Amu sat straight up holding her hands in her lap. I fell asleep on him! Her inner-self screamed. Ikuto smirked sat up and stretched his arms above his head.

"Its fine Amu I put you there anyway."

"What!"

"You fell asleep in the grass, didn't look very comfortable." He said shrugging his shoulders.

"Lets say its repayment for last night when you were my pillow." He said grinning at her as she blushed and looked away.

"Lets get you home." He stood and stuck out his hand for her.

"Yeah." She grabbed it and was helped to her feet.

"What's that noise?" Amu asked frowning in the direction of the trees.

"Sounds like police sirens." Ikuto noted. Amu noticed at that moment that he had put his arms around her and was pressing her aginst his chest.

"They're getting louder." Amu's voice went up a level and Ikuto's arm tightened.

"Its fine Amu." He said reassuringly walking forward towards the path that they had taken to get up here.

"Hold it don't move!" A man appeared out of the trees holding a gun and it was pointed at them. Amu's arms shot up in the air as the police man continued to shout. He wasn't looking at her, but at Ikuto.

"You're under arrest!" Amu gasped and screamed when another man came and grabbed her away from Ikuto. He made a grab for her on instinct but the man was alreayd to far away and if tried to go after her the other man would shot him.

"For the kidnapping of Hinamori Amu." Amu's face went into shock.

"Ikuto!" He looked over at her but his face was calm.

"Its alright Amu. Don't worry." He called after her as the men pushed her into the back of a police car. She didn't see the worried look he cast at her. Amu……

"He didn't kidnap me! Stop it! Let him go!" Amu screamed pounding on the window in the backseat. Tears started break from her eyes as she saw Ikuto being shoved against the hood of the car and handcuffed.

"Ikuto!" She screamed from the back seat. He was escorted pass as the car drove away and he smiled reassuringly at her as if to say. Don't worry so much, every things fine.

But everything was not fine in Amu's mind. Ikuto was being arrested for something he didn't do. And it was her fault.
