Hey Guys! Don't forget to review! Here we go!

Derek P.O.V.

"YOU WHAT?" Tori screamed at us. I guess Simon didn't call and tell her but did she have to yell? I was already in a bad mood and Tori's voice was just pissing me off more.

"We got married" I grumbled back at her. Was that so hard to understand? Tori's eyes got wider, if that was even possible. Her black hair was now at her shoulders since she had let it grow out. It swayed back as she plopped back into her seat.

"Look, we didn't plan this and we aren't quite sure how this happened ourselves. All we know is that we need to come up with a plan and quick." Cori piped in. Thank God because if Tori screamed one more time I was going to put her in a choke hold. Simon and Chloe looked at us with worry and...amusement. The fuckers thought this was funny.

"I mean, when you guys left the club together, I thought you guys were gonna fuck for sure but married? I didn't call that one." Tori contemplated. So we did leave together.

"So he and I were at the club together?" Cori leaned forward, eager for information on her lost memories. Tori scoffed.

"You two couldn't keep your hands off each other. You were inseparable." Simon spoke this time. He sat there in all his blond glory, holding Chloe's hand. Of course, Simon got to do things the right way. He got to propose to the woman he loved and plan a wedding while I just up and swept one away, probably ruining her idea of marriage for good.

"Cori? How do you feel about all of this?" Chloe stared at her. I realized that this was the first time anyone had asked her how she felt. I had never once stopped to ask how she felt or what she wanted to do. I'm such a jackass.

She was so small as she curled up in her seat. Her legs were folded into her chest and her chin rested on her knees.

"I'm not sure. This isn't exactly how I planned to start my life here but I suppose I'm okay with it for now. I don't want to ruin Derek's image or career and I'll do anything to help. If that means that I have to pretend to be a happy newly-wed then I will. I'm just sorry that this upstaged your wedding plans Chloe. " Her voice was soft but it carried so much weight. This woman had known me for less than three days and she was willing to stay chained to me so it wouldn't hurt my career.

"Don't worry about us. We still have another 7 months before the wedding. By then, all of this will have blown over." Chloe smiled at Cori and they shared a secret smile. It was as if they knew what the other was thinking without saying a word. I watched the silent exchange between cousins when Tori spoke up.

"Has anyone told Dad?" Oh God I had forgotten about that. It was all over the news by now. I was dead and I knew it. Just when Simon was about to open his mouth...

"DEREK MICHAEL SOUZA!" Dad roared from the door. Dad never raised his voice so I knew he was beyond pissed.

"What in the hell is this?" He glared at me as he tossed a magazine on the table. I picked it up and read the headline. "Derek Souza tied down by mysterious girl." Well they weren't very original.

"A magazine." was my smartass answer. This only pissed him off more because the way he was glaring at me would have killed me a long time ago.

"Three days. Three days, Derek. All you had to do was stay out of trouble for three days. You're next match is in two days and you go and do this. The last thing you needed was a scandal to add to your bad boy image. All I asked was that you stayed out of trouble until the match was over and then you go and marry some random bimbo you picked up in a club!" Dad's voice rose with each sentence. I'm sure the whole building could hear him.

"Actually, sir, I'm Chloe's cousin and my name is Cornelia. I'm your new daughter in-" Cori addressed my dad. She stood up and stuck her hand out.

"I know who you are. You're the girl who ruined my son's life." Dad cut her off and spat at her. I could feel my blood begin to boil.

"I'm sorry, sir. I had no intention of this happening. In fact, I didn't know who Derek was until this morning." Determined to take the high road, she ignored my dad's rudeness and smiled politely at him. My father simply glared even harder and crossed his arms.

"Sorry? Sorry isn't going to fix this. How much will it cost for you to up and disappear out of Derek's life." Dad reached into his coat pocket and reached for his checkbook. There was a round of gasps and I could see that Cornelia was clearly hurt and offended. Her eyes began to water but she held her own.

"Sir, I don't want any-"

"1 million?" Dad offered. Cori shook her head viciously. He body began to shake.

"I don't want-"

"2 million?"

"I'm not some gold-"

"2.5 million and that is my final offer."

"That's not.. I-I don't want any money."

"Stop!" I jumped up from my seat. I couldn't sit back and watch this anymore. Everyone turned their eyes to me. I was pissed. I knew my dad was upset but that didn't give him the right to hurt her like that. I put my hand on her waist and pulled her behind me. She stayed close to me and I could feel her hands bawl in my shirt. She didn't deserve this, any of it.

"Look, I know this isn't exactly an ideal situation but I will not sit here and let you degrade her. She has done nothing but defend me and put on a brave face. Cori didn't know I was a fighter or famous until I told her this morning. She didn't do it for my money or for fame or for power. We got married, it happened and it's not going away with a check. Now, until we figure out what we're going to do, I expect everyone to treat her like my wife and give her the respect she is due." I looked around the room and saw their faces. They all had a look of approval. All except dad. He had a look of shock.

I didn't care, Cornelia didn't deserve to be treated that way and I wasn't going to stand by and let it happen.

A tiny 'thank you' was heard from behind me. I looked over my shoulder and down at her. Tear tracks stained her face and I quickly wiped them away with my thumb, nodding at her. I sat her back down in her chair as I took mine and we all turned to my dad, expectantly.

"Well then... I guess we need a plan. You two will stay married and make it look happy. In a couple of days, we'll release a public statement. Cornelia will move in with Derek and you both will make it seem as if this was planned. You can't divorce quickly otherwise it will look suspicious and no judge in their right mind would grant a divorce without proof of attempt. "

Dad was pacing now. His plan sounded good enough, we just had to pull it off.

"Okay but how quick is quick?" I asked. Dad shook his head and mumbled to himself. All eyes watched him as he paced around the room and just when we were starting to get dizzy he stopped.

"A year. You two will stay married for a year and then call it quits. We can say something along the lines of irreconcilable differences."

A year. I would be married for a year. I turned to look at Cori, who had a slight smile on her face showing that she agreed. Maybe this wouldn't be such a bad year. I thought this to myself as I watched the rain fall outside.
