Took me some time again, but here is another update! Hopefully enough drama to leave you satisfied, but I have finished a lot of stories now, so I should have more time for this one as well and hopefully also the motivation :) Enjoy!

...

It had taken Sasori quite some time to find Deidara after he had run away. First Sasori had to deal with Itachi still and forced him to leave behind his phone number, so they could get in contact better and then he quickly shifted back into his wolf form and went in search. Mere seconds had passed, but with Deidara's lean legs he had covered quite some ground and the redhead had no idea where he had gone to. And then he also couldn't go too far since his father could get back any second now.

But he needed to make a choice and he was sure it was more important to get Deidara back now than to wait for his father to get back. Deidara needed to be there as well and hear the answer of course and who knows where Deidara might end up. Maybe even across their border and then he would be out of their reach. Madara's pack would pick him up and he would be gone within the day.

With that in meant Sasori sped up, trying to cover as much ground as he could and asking around if anyone had seen the wild wolf, but it still took him about half an hour before he actually found Deidara, indeed way too close to the border, but at least Deidara was laying down, silently glancing out in front of him. Sasori took a moment before he actually got closer, not wanting to step over lines right away and also needing to get a feeling on what was happening here. Of course Deidara felt a little distressed, but how would the blonde deal with it now that he was in wolf form?

Deidara, Sasori said softly in his head, taking another step closer and nuzzling the white wolf against his side. He didn't get an immediate response, so he pushed a little harder and then the white wolf raised his head, growling softly until he finally noticed who it was. Lazily Deidara put his head down again and sighed softly, the staring continuing.

This wasn't working out, but pressuring Deidara now wouldn't help either and starting a conversation wasn't going to happen. As long as Deidara wasn't part of the pack, their connection wouldn't be sufficient enough and only exist of random words. So for now he would give Deidara some time and just stay with him. For now he hadn't heard anything from his father yet, so there was no hurry to leave just yet. And Sasori still had no idea how he was supposed to get Deidara away from here and back to the centre of their grounds. He didn't feel very comfortable being so close to the border, not with the other pack so close by.

Getting more on edge as minutes passed Sasori started pacing in front of Deidara, going back and forth, back and forth and this stressed out Deidara as well. The calm pose he had gotten after laying down was gone and he started barking at Sasori's form, telling him stop walking and sit down or something. And of course Sasori wouldn't accept such a reaction, so he snapped, maybe even a little too much.

He bared his teeth, latched them onto Deidara's neck and forced him down to the ground, pinning him without actually biting through. It was just a threat and every time Deidara struggled he would growl, tightening his hold a little more until finally Deidara's form relaxed and stayed completely still, his breathing coming out in a steady way. Slowly Sasori pulled back and stood straight up, waiting on Deidara to do the same and the white wolf rose slowly, making sure he kept a little lower than Sasori, especially his head and just like that they were on their way to the pack again.

It wasn't the way Sasori had wanted to do this, but it did work. He didn't like to force his dominance on Deidara like this, but instincts had taken over here and he was already not that good with human reactions, so the wolf had taken over here. But at this point he didn't like how Deidara's blue eyes kept glancing around, looking almost frightened and seeing the tail slightly between his legs. The fear made Sasori feel bad. This was his future mate they were talking about and he should be treated differently.

Sorry, Sasori said softly and blue eyes looked up a little surprised, but then he could see the little changes in behaviour and soon it all felt normal again and they kept on trotting beside each other, a calm settling between them.

When they finally arrived back, the whole pack was up and running. Apparently father had returned, but hadn't notified Sasori yet, which was rather strange. But it wasn't like he could go and find his father with Deidara still not completely at ease. The human side had been taking over again along the way and Sasori could see the thoughts floating around in the blonde's mind. Sometimes he even caught words as pain and scared, but there wasn't much he could do about it or even ask about. They would need to change back first, but Sasori would wait on Deidara.

Although that didn't take very long anymore. As soon as they stepped into the clearing around the house, the change back started settling in for Deidara. It took longer than the more experienced wolves to change back and he couldn't control it, but once the mind started getting human again, the wolf would completely disappear. So soon Deidara was stark naked and a little embarrassed sitting down on the cold ground. Smoothly Sasori changed back as well and get down beside Deidara, eyeing him for a moment. Father could wait a moment longer and he still hadn't been asking for Sasori, so it should be fine.

'Deidara,' he spoke up softly, his voice still holding a bit of the growl from his wolf form. He tried shaking it off, because he didn't want to scare the blonde more. And then he felt Deidara leaning against him heavily, a loud sigh escaping the plump lips. 'Are you alright?' he tried again and a humourless chuckle left Deidara.

The blond hair swept around as Deidara shook his head. 'Not really, no,' he spoke up softly. 'I guess it was better I didn't remember what had happened.' He frowned, the memory moving through his mind again. It had been such a scary night and even if he still only remembered glimpses of it, he couldn't seem to forget about the menacing look the man had worn on his face as he had bitten him. A shiver ran through his body as those red eyes kept floating around. 'I-I don't even know why it happened. Everything had seemed fine. Itachi and I just went out camping and we were joking around and then suddenly the wolves had showed up and…' Deidara let out a shaky breath and closed his eyes when Sasori wrapped his arms around his frail body, nuzzling the side of the redhead's face. 'I don't know why the man did it. He seemed very angry first, growling something at Itachi, but I couldn't really make out any words. And then he just pounced on me, throwing me to the ground and piercing his teeth deep into my skin. For a moment it reminded me of your bite until the pain started burning through my skin.' Shakily he brought his hands up to brush his fingers over the place the teeth had latched on, feeling a light bubbly scar there.

Sasori wasn't sure how to react to it. Itachi had already told him vaguely what had happened, but now he heard it from Deidara's point of view and he could see how afraid the blonde still was. And let's not forget that Sasori also wasn't very good with words, so responding to this was quite the challenge already. 'Madara is a cruel man,' he started out, deciding he would just tell what he knew about the man. 'He has one of the biggest packs around the world, changing people just for fun and forcing them to stay. He searches power mostly and doesn't care what his pack might feel. That's why the wolves were so on edge when he had bitten you. Some are just as cruel, but most don't know how to handle it.' He stopped talking for a moment, trying to find the right words to say this. 'So him changing you didn't really have to do with you. Apparently it's something between the Uchiha family and you just got caught up in the middle.'

Silence settled in and Sasori could see the words doing something to Deidara. He looked even sadder now, but there wasn't anything he could do about it. It was the truth and at least when Deidara would be taken away, then he would know how his life would be within that pack. Not so happy… It really made his heart ache. He didn't want Deidara to leave. Every day they spend together he felt closer, their bond getting stronger and stronger. It wouldn't be long before they actually would become real mates. That thought made Sasori shiver, his body aching to go that far already.

Trying to clear his mind Sasori figured he would need to tell something else as well, but this also wasn't that great news. 'Itachi also had some other news.' Deidara looked up, meeting the muddy brown eyes with his own blue ones. 'Your parents are looking for you and soon they will stumble upon this place since they are searching the forest. I'm not sure what we'll do about it, but it might have some consequences for us.' This actually could mean that they had a big problem. They would finally notice how many wolves really live in these woods and then the hunting season might be opened, thinking the pack would be a threat. But Sasori couldn't voice these thoughts to Deidara, making him stress even more. Hopefully it would all just work out fine.

'I-I'm sorry,' Deidara whispered against Sasori's neck, the hot breath spreading fast over his cold skin. 'I'll fix it, I promise. I'll just give my parents a call and come up with some sort of excuse. It will all be fine.' And somehow it did make Sasori relax a little, the sound of Deidara's voice already calming him down.

And then the moment just kind of took over, forgetting about the stressing wolves around them. Lips met and it was the first kiss they shared after Deidara had changed and somehow it held even more power than before. The marking was much stronger now and it made them pull together roughly. Hands grabbed onto hair, pulling their faces closer together as their tongues clashed, roaming through the other's mouth. The outside world was forgotten and at this point they only had each other. No one else mattered. Sasori knew there were many different opinions on their relationship, most not agreeing and some even very jealous, but the redhead didn't care. Deidara was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen and now in this moment he was completely his and he would enjoy that for as long as possible.

Sitting in the house, alone in a room with his father, Sasori felt fear creeping up inside his chest. The serious expression didn't have to mean anything since his father always looked like that, but this time he knew it meant something. Otherwise they wouldn't be talking about this in private, away from the whole pack and in human form. No one was supposed to hear what they would be discussing and Sasori just felt like freaking out at this point.

'I'm going to lose him, aren't I?' he asked in a steady voice, keeping his emotions to a minimum. He needed to look brave in front of the alpha. Show him that he could handle things like these, but this, this was the worst thing that could happen really.

And then the grey eyes softened, the corners of his father's lips slightly posed down. That was it. This was going to be a conversation between father and son and not alpha and beta and now Sasori was sure. Defeated he sat back in the wooden chair, brown eyes staring at the floor below his feet.

'I had a long talk with Madara,' Pein started speaking up, trying to keep an even level in his voice. 'I tried explaining things on how you had marked Deidara even before he had changed, hoping it would get me some sympathy, but it wouldn't work. He wants Deidara no matter what, claiming he would be a good addition to the pack. I don't know why he so desperately wants Deidara, but something tells me it was just to get under my skin.' He sighed softly and leaned forward, laying a comforting hand on Sasori's knee. 'I wish I could change something about this, but I have nothing. I don't want a war between our packs, because with his numbers we will definitely lose. I need to think of the pack first, even if you are my son.'

The silence stretched on, the words slowly settling in. Sasori knew his father was right. The pack was more important than his one love, but that didn't mean he could just make his peace with it. It felt like his heart was being ripped out, especially since he did know why Madara made this decision. With tears in his eyes he looked up to meet the grey ones, opening his mouth to speak. 'He's not doing it because he wants a rise out of you. He's doing this to make sure Itachi knows what the consequences of his decision are.' His voice was cracked and he hated to look so vulnerable in front of his father, so human really. But for the very first time Pein didn't seem to care, his love for his son greater than expected.

But this confused the alpha. He hadn't heard anything about someone named Itachi. 'What do you mean, Sasori?' he asked softly, not wanting to upset the redhead even more.

Quickly Sasori wiped the one tear away, angry at himself for being so weak. 'Itachi is Deidara's friend and the one who took him to the pack in the first place. It is Itachi Madara is after and Deidara is just something to lure the nephew to the pack and get him to join. So Deidara really is just stuck in the middle of something he shouldn't be a part of!' He had raised his voice, at the alpha and he could see his father's eyebrow twitch, but the human side told him to calm down and understand his son's reaction, thankfully.

'But it still doesn't solve anything, Sasori. Even if Deidara is just a tool for Madara, we cannot decide to keep Deidara here and hope for the best. He has to go no matter what and it's better when it happens fast before the mark gets too strong. You know you will already be out of the running for days now, but then it could even be worse. You could be scarred for life and a beta cannot suffer from such a thing.' Yes, Sasori was indeed aware of all these things and somewhere he now wished he had never marked Deidara, because he knew it was already too late. It had happened all so fast, but their mark was as strong as it could be. He could even feel Deidara's presence right outside of the house without actually seeing him. 'It's already too late, isn't it?' Pein then asked.

Sasori just nodded in response, not wanting to voice it, because he knew that would hurt. Angrily Pein got up and started pacing through the room, his hand on his forehead to help him think. This complicated things, Sasori knew this, but it still didn't change a thing. Deidara would have to go and Sasori would be scarred for life, unable to ever find a mate again. He would never be the alpha of the pack since there would never be an alpha female. He wouldn't want one and he couldn't rule without one.

Suddenly Pein stopped walking and stared over at his son, something else hitting him. 'You have not…?' He didn't have to say what he meant and Sasori frantically shook his head. 'Okay, good. That would've made it even worse. You definitely can't though, understood?'

Yes, Sasori also knew he now definitely couldn't. That would probably mean his death and that was something he really didn't want. Pein had started pacing again and Sasori didn't even understood why. It didn't matter anymore. It was all over. 'Can I tell Deidara?' he spoke up softly and Pein's eyes turned soft again, glancing down at Sasori.

'Of course. Just go spend some time with him, Sasori. It won't lessen the pain, but you won't regret it in the end.' Sasori had never expected his father to say such things, but it felt comforting. Pein could really act like a father and not just as his alpha and he was happy about that fact. Maybe he could find some support through the tough time that was about to come.

He stood up slowly and dragged himself to the door, not really wanting to have this conversation with Deidara. As he opened the door, Sasori glanced over his shoulder one last time, grey meeting muddy brown. 'Thank you for being my dad,' he said softly and then closed the door, missing the light smile on his father's lips.

As he had expected, Deidara was sitting on the porch of the house, lazily staring out into the woods. The pack had calmed down again, some of them lying on the grounds and some playing around with other wolves. None of them had changed back to their human form though, feeling like they could deal better with it in their wolf form. The lack of emotions just worked much better when they got news like this and for now Deidara was the only one who didn't know what was going to happen. There were even some wolves a bit sad, knowing they would be losing the white wolf soon.

Slowly Sasori sat down beside and as Deidara realised, he looked up with a big smile on his face. The bright blue eyes and that damn smile made Sasori's heart beat faster and then break down roughly as he knew this was the end. He would never feel this way again.

And Deidara had no idea what was going on, still relishing in the kiss they had just shared and feeling so loved. How could Sasori tell him it would be all over? How could he break this beautiful creature down? He let out a shaky breath and that was all Deidara needed to realise he shouldn't be so happy. The smile faltered and his gaze shifted downwards. 'So this is it, huh?' Deidara asked softly.

'Yes,' Sasori answered plainly, the corners of his mouth descended down and his brows furrowed. 'Madara wants you in his pack.' A sob made Sasori look over at the blonde next to him and he could see tears flowing down the reddened cheeks. Slowly Sasori brought his hand up and started wiping away every tear that left the sparkling blue eyes. It didn't matter how many it were, but he didn't want to see Deidara crying. 'I'm sorry,' he said softly. 'I'm so sorry.'

Arms coiled around his neck and Deidara shifted himself closer to Sasori, practically climbing into his lap. 'It's not your fault,' he replied and then lips were on Sasori's again, pressing down roughly and a force prying its way into his mouth. It wasn't like he couldn't respond, he really just had to. He loved feeling Deidara this close and he wouldn't have the opportunity very soon anymore.

So the kiss was continued and eventually Sasori stood up, carrying Deidara away from the pack and out into the woods, wanting some privacy. Deidara's plump lips were latched onto his neck as he smoothly moved them both through the trees. When he found a secluded enough place he stopped walking, laying Deidara down and then slowly crawling on top of him. He had realised this somewhere along the way and he knew he probably should tell Deidara something, but it could wait just a moment longer.

What if they would just become mates now? Yes, they would still have to split up and then Sasori's heart would eventually give out under the pain of it, but maybe that would be better than live a life filled with misery. So maybe he should just go through with this. First he would let Deidara mark him back and with the way Deidara's teeth were nibbling on his skin that wouldn't be so hard to get to. And then… Then he would make love to the most beautiful blond creature in the world and he would die happily, because without Deidara, his life would be empty anyway…
