"I can see the Fire Nation capitol" Sokka yelled as he tried to keep the wheel of the large air balloon under control. "We're about to see if my sister and Zuko were able to beat Azula".
Suki was holding onto the railing in the front of the control room right next to her boyfriend. "Sokka we are going to crash" she yelled over the explosions of fire blasts "You can't crash in the city, you have to crash in the outskirts and hope we survive".
Sokka knew this would probably happen and hoped that it didn't have to resort to that. He looked to the left of him to see Suki looking out the window looking for a spot to put the balloon down. Sokka took one of his hands off of the wheel and put it on Suki's shoulder instantly getting her attention. He looked into her beautiful amber eyes "Suki go get Toph and take refuge in Aang's room. While I try to steer the air ship down".
Suki shook her head in disagreement "No Sokka I'm not leaving you" Suki said with tears rolling down her cheeks "If the impact is too hard you could die and I can't lose you". Sokka silenced his girlfriend by wiping her tears off of her face "Suki I need you to make sure Toph and Aang are safe and I promise you that I will come and get you three personally after we land" Sokka said with a charming smile that sent relief washing over his girlfriend.
"Ok Sokka" Suki said placing a quick kiss on his lips "But I expect you to keep your promise" she said as she let go of the railing and quickly ran out of the control room. Sokka smiled knowing that his girlfriend was going to be alright, but he knew he wasn't going to get out of this crash unscathed. Sokka quickly found a spot to crash the large ship as he pulled one of the levers next to him and the ship slowly descended towards the ground.

Katara watched everything unfold and hoped that the balloon would survive the crash just in time for the help to arrive. Katara along with Zuko and dozens of other firebenders that could diminish raging flames were waiting outside the gates to see where the large war balloon was going to crash.
Zuko saw the balloon descending and looked back to the main guard tower to see General Lee waiting for his orders. Zuko pointed his fingers at the two trailing war balloons getting a nod from his second in command. Lee turned to a soldier next to him "Fire at those two air ships" he commanded.
The young fire nation soldier saluted his General "Aye sir". The young soldier turned to the men holding a radio and nodded at them telling them to relay the order to the guard towers to open fire.
After a few seconds all of the guard towers opened fire at the two trailing balloons hoping to take them down quickly with no fight back. The fire blasts penetrated the hull of both ships because the men on the outside were too busy firing at the balloon that held the Avatar. The ships were mincemeat after a few minutes of shooting and they both exploded sending shrapnel multiple ways.
"Alright now that's done we can focus on Aang and everyone else on the ship" Zuko said out loud for both his men and Katara could hear. Katara nodded in response as she waited for the ship to make contact with the earth. She was hoping and praying over and over again in her head 'please be alright Aang'.
(SWITCH)
Suki ran as fast as she could and finally reached the door that led to the walkways outside. She opened it and immediately spotted Toph firing pieces of metal at the soldiers on the air ships. Toph felt her friend coming "Suki what's wrong" Toph asked firing off more pieces of metal.
"The ship is going to crash we need to get inside and protect Aang's body" Suki said as she dodged a fire blast from the other ship.
"I don't think I can do that, if I leave then these guys will completely destroy the air ship before we even hit the ground" Toph said bringing up a metal wall to stop a few fire blasts from hitting the ship. All of a sudden several fire blasts hit both of the ships from the ground. The hulls of the ships immediately ripped open and made the ships explode sending both Suki and Toph backwards into one of her own walls.
They were both dazed from the explosion but that didn't stop Toph's bewilderment "What in the name of spirits just happened" she asked confused. Suki looked down to the earth to see the smoke trails coming from the buildings in the city.
"I don't know Toph, but I think it came from the city below us" Suki said knowing that Katara and Zuko had succeeded in their mission to bring down the fire lords daughter.
A smile came to Toph's face "I guess that means we won" she said happily and 'felt' a smile come to her friends face. "Come on Toph we still have to protect Aang's body" Suki said getting off of the floor and helping her friend up. They both ran down what was left of the metal walkway and walked through the open door. Suki closed the door and looked to the right down the hall. If she went to the right, she would protect Aang and possibly lose Sokka. But if she went left, she could possibly save Sokka before they hit the ground.
"Come on Suki we have to go save Aang" Toph said as she ran down the right hallway and towards the room that held the injured boy. Suki looked down the hallway that Sokka was in but shook it off knowing that Toph was going to need her help. She took one more look down the hall and sprinted off towards the Avatar's room.
Sokka saw the ground getting closer and wanted to let go, but he knew that the wheel could spin in the direction of the city. So Sokka continued to steer the wheel knowing that he was probably going to die. He looked over to where his girlfriend was before and saw the weird system that translated the person's voice to the whole ship. 'Maybe Suki could hear his final words' Sokka thought to himself as he reached for the device. He looked it over to find a button on the side of it, he pressed it and he heard himself breathing over the speakers.
Sokka breathed in and began "Suki, if you can hear me I just want you to know that I love you so much. The air ship is only a few feet from the ground and I don't think I will be able to keep my promise. If I do die I want you to remember me, the only way that will help me be at ease is knowing that when I die you will remember me. The ground is a lot closer now so I think I will have to cut off hear and don't you dare leave that room with Aang. If I survive I know that you will find me. I love you Suki of Kyoshi Island"
The communication toned out and Suki felt her heart break and flutter at the same time hearing him announce his love to her and the thought of him dying. She looked down at Aang's unconscious body and knew that if he got hurt worse Katara would be heartbroken.
All of a sudden the whole room shook and an explosion was heard around the two girls. Suki knew that they had made contact with the ground and hoped that the explosion wasn't from the bridge. The vibrations went on for a while making every item in Aang's room fall and move around.
Sokka was running away from the flames that consumed the control room. When the air ship made contact with the ground he saw a gas pipe come from the side of the wall. He knew that it was going to explode so he ran from the room and barely escaped as it caught fire and exploded. Now he had to survive the rest of the crash. The walls around him were being thrown off of its hull and onto the ground outside. Several items were being thrown around that could injure him more or even send him flying off of the ship.
Sokka ran down the hallway when the area of the ship he was in took a bigger beating and he was slung backwards into a wall when he felt a sharp pain go through his stomach. He looked down to see something that he feared would happen. There was a long piece of broken glass from one of the windows that speared his back and came out his stomach. Sokka put his hand around the wound and felt the warm liquid drape over his hand. He was bleeding uncontrollably.
Sokka knew that if he was going to survive he needed to find his girlfriend. He put his hands on the glass and painfully started to pull forward. Sokka let out a large shriek of pain as he pulled the long, thick piece of glass out of his body and threw it to the floor. He started to walk down the hallway heading to Aang's room. Sokka started to feel dizzy as he lost more and more of his blood from all the walking he was doing. He couldn't take anymore as his legs gave out from underneath him and he fell to his knees. "Suki please find me" Sokka said as he dropped down and landed on his stomach unconscious.

Katara and Zuko watched in horror as the large air ship crashed into the ground and immediately the front of it exploded making the ground rumble underneath everyone. All of a sudden Katara ran forward heading for the air ship that was still in the progress of completely crashing. Zuko turned to his men "Follow the waterbender and rescue everyone inside" he ordered immediately getting salutes and the men ran right by him towards the ship.
Katara felt tears form in her eyes at the amount of explosions that were coming from the large air ship. She was praying to the spirits that everyone would survive. Katara couldn't handle any of her friends dying at the hands of any more firebender soldiers.
The air balloon stopped after a while and Katara along with the fire nation soldiers wasted no time opening a hole in the hull of the ship and started their search for the Avatar and his friends.

Suki kicked down the now broken door to Aang's room and walked out of it examining the damage. It was completely destroyed, the hull was shattered and laying everywhere with large dents covering it as well. She was amazed how the room they were in didn't take as much as damage as the rest of the ship.
Suki turned to her earthbending friend "Do you think you can use that metal bending stretcher again and carry Aang" Suki asked. Toph showed a smile and nodded a 'yes'. She quickly picked up pieces of metal and formed it into a stretcher. The two girls then picked up the Avatar and placed him on it allowing Toph to bend the metal up and let it float behind her friend.
Suki walked out of the room followed by Toph. They walked down the hall towards the control room to see if Sokka was still in there. They walked by a hallway and Toph stopped dead in her tracks getting the attention of Suki. She turned around to face her friend "Toph what's wrong?"
Toph gulped and said "I can feel Sokka's heartbeat he is down that hall" Toph said. A smile came to Suki's face knowing that her boyfriend was still alive, but she looked at Toph's facial expression and Suki's smile fell "What? Why are you frowning?"
"Sokka he is bleeding and not moving" Toph said with a tear falling from her face.
Suki gasped and ran down the hallway Toph pointed and turned a corner to see something that made her heart break. There was Sokka laying on his stomach in his own pool of blood. Suki quickly ran to his side and got down on her knees. She flipped him over to see he was unconscious with a large gash in his stomach. The blood was spurting out fast and Suki knew that he was going to die of blood loss soon if she didn't get him to Katara.
Toph came running down the hall soon panting for air. Suki looked up to see her sweating uncontrollably and she knew that Toph wouldn't be sweating this much from just running down the hall. It took a minute to catch her breath "There are fire nation soldiers surrounding us and I don't know if they are good or bad" Toph said breathing heavily.
Before Suki could reply an explosion came from the side of the hull right next to them revealing several soldiers. "I guess they are not on our side" Suki said getting in a fighting position.
"Stay away from us" Suki yelled at the soldiers as she walked towards the hole away from Sokka's body along with Toph next to her. The soldiers stopped when they heard this and knew they found the survivors. "It's alright we are here to help you we were sent by fire lord Zuko" the lead soldier yelled back.
Suki knew that they said something but she couldn't hear them over the roaring fires. All of a sudden Toph felt rustling behind her and 'saw' that there were three fire nation guards dragging away the body of Sokka. "Suki" Toph yelled getting the attention of her friend "They're taking Sokka" she yelled.
Suki turned around to see three soldiers dragging the love of her life's body away. Suki felt her anger boil over the top as she sprinted towards the three soldiers "NO! GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF HIM" she yelled as she flew through the air and kicked the soldier dragging Sokka in the face sending him spiraling a few feet away. Suki stood over the body of Sokka trying to show the notion that he was hers and no one to touch him. She watched as the two guards turn around and drop their weapons.
"Listen little lady we were ordered by Fire Lord Zuko to come and rescue you guys. When we saw how badly injured your boyfriend was here we decided to take him to the waterbender quickly" the lead guard said to Suki. She felt her anger rest a little when 'Fire Lord Zuko' was mentioned.
Suki lowered her fists and looked at the two soldiers to see they weren't lying. "Alright I trust you for now" Suki said looking down at her boyfriend "Just hurry and take these two to the waterbender". The two guards nodded and one put Sokka over his shoulder while the other took Aang and carried him bridal style. They ran to the hole they entered followed quickly by Suki and Toph. Toph quickly remembered something and before she ran off with everyone else she pulled six guards to the side.
"Is there a problem miss?" one of the soldiers asked.
"Yes the phoenix king Ozai is in one of the holding cells on our air ship and I want you six to get him and bring him to Fire Lord Zuko" Toph said seeing a scared look in each of their eyes. But none the less they saluted her and ran off towards the air ship and Toph ran back in the direction the two soldiers and Suki ran off to.
(SWITCH)
Katara and Zuko were standing in a middle of a field over watching the search parties going on around the ship. "Don't worry Katara I'm sure they are fine" Zuko said directing another squadron of soldiers to a new area to search.
Katara let out a sigh "I hope that Aang is awake by now I don't want to see him so hurt" she said looking over the large crash again.
"Sir Look!" a soldier next to Zuko called out pointing to a nearby hill. Zuko and Katara followed his finger and found the hill. Katara saw four figure running towards them. Two of them were girls and in front of them were two soldiers. Both soldiers were carrying a person on their back and Katara instantly knew one of the people being carried because of his long blue arrows on his body.
"Aang…" Katara said to herself.
