Sorry about the delay, the third story is just not coming together….so here is the last one, and when third one happens, i'll post it. Enjoy!
Tara stood at the window, looking into the night. The flashes of light ripped through the sky, as if the thunderstorm was trying to cut the sky into ribbons, with the thunder echoing through the forest.
Heavy drops of rain were falling from the sky and drumming on the palace walls.
It was so peaceful watching storms from the comfortable room with the oversized fireplace.
"How many times have I done this?" she asked herself. Spent too many days – and especially nights- watching over Ronin when he was wounded or injured. She wouldn't just leave him. She never told him about the nights spent watching over him, but she suspected he knew.
Even after being made a Queen, she still stayed with him whenever she could. Her days were busy, but she made sure she was there for him at night. It was usually the worst time for him, when he needed her presence most.
"It's almost always during the thunderstorms," she thought as another flash ripped through the sky. Tara sighed and walked towards the large bed. She sat down next to sleeping Ronin and watched him in his restless, feverish sleep. There was sheen of sweat on his brow and his breathing was shallow and labored; Tara knew that he was still in pain, despite the herbal painkillers.
"Ronin, it's all right, I'm here with you," she told him, stroked his head and put her hand on his bare chest. After a few minutes his breathing steadied and deepened and he slipped into a deep, steady sleep. He always said her touch calmed him down.
There was a knock at the door and Queens helper asked her if she was ready to retire to her room for the night.
"No", said Tara. "I'll stay here with Ronin."
