Yumiko's POV

When we arrived to the entrance ceremony, Ren had taken the opportunity to run off with his, already forming, fan club. The girls were all unique looking but I bet their hearts had one thing in them, desperation for affection. It is hard to tell to someone who has never been in love before. They strive to make their hair pretty and allow their faces to shine.

Their mascara eyes were elegantly accented by their eye shadow and blush. They were no way ugly but it was disgusting how quickly they had pushed to "share" him. My friends at my previous school had boyfriends; which is important because we, including me, had to dodge the fan girls' attacks, because when they see competition, WATCH OUT! They are probably the most vicious people on the planet.

That's why when Ren turned his back from us, his arms around two girls, all the other members glared at us, a threat in their eyes, don't-get-close-to-him. One of the girls knocked into me harshly causing my glasses to fly off.

"Opps," she apologized, although because I could not see her expression I couldn't tell if she was lying or not," I'm sorry, I didn't see you there." Right then I could feel the steam coming out of my ears as I watched her sashay away, without helping me find my glasses.

I could just picture their silly girly-

"Get back here you cowards!" My fist waved in the air, I begin to approach them," Face me like a woman!"Tomochika and Miho grab my arms to restrain me. I tried to resist.

"Hey! Let me go! Let me go!"

"Calm down, Yumi-chan," Tomochika said.

"NO! Did you see what she did? Did you? Huh? Huh?!"

"Yumi-chan," Miho said," Calm down. You are causing a ruckus and drawing more attention on yourself."

"No I'm no-" But as I looked around and saw that the students had formed a circle around us, more importantly me. Their blurry faces of emotion were left to my imagination.

"Leave it for another time…and place," Miho whispered," You don't want to mess up your image too much in one day, right?" She was referring to my hair incident this morning. I was less than…professional, during that incident luckily I had tied it up after Miho-chan had given me a hair tie.

I looked at Miho who pleaded with her neon green eyes, begging me to see resolve.

I sighed, knowing she was right. Those girls provoked me on purpose and I fell into their trap. I took a few deep breaths, slowly calming myself. I looked at my friends and smiled shyly. They smiled to and let me go.

The fan girls had disappeared from sight probably drooling over Ren. Even though, I would not dare go close to any of them, I knew I would meet them again.

"Hey, Yumi-chan?" Tomochika asked.

"Yes?"

"Did you see where your glasses went? I can't seem to find them."

Oh, that's right, I'm almost blind as bat. The worst thing to have is stigmatism. Everything is blurry and you can't see anything. Basically everything is put into blurry shapes that move. Although I cannot see detail, I can still function. But I would rather have my glasses so I can know what is happening precisely.

"I don't know, I was so consumed by rage," a flash of my previous anger came back briefly," That I did not notice where they landed." I was in despair yet again.

"Well, I'll help you look for them."

Miho bounced happily, "Me too! Me too!"

Tears nearly formed in my eyes, They're the best, I thought.

The girls and I scouted around the area where my glasses should have been but as time passed, it seemed unlikely that we would find them in one piece.

"Have you found them yet Miho-chan?" I yelled.

She was on the other side and had to yell to, "Nope!"

I began getting frustrated because I had not found my seat and my glasses were missing.

I began muttering to myself as I crawled on the ground," This sucks. Why me? Why do I have to go through this on my first day? How can this get worse? Ugh, I think a rock is in my leg. I wonder if they found my glasses-" As I mumbled I was not paying much attention to the students that were complaining about my ruckus. Even though, I was acting rude, I still apologized to them, until I saw something shiny and lifted someone's foot to get it.

"Hey!" a gruff voice said snapping me out of my craziness. I looked up and saw dark purple or dark blue hair, pale skin, and it was a guy.

I jumped up and quickly introduced myself with a slight bow," My name is Hotaru Yumiko. Nice to meet you."

"Um…you know I am over here right?" He pointed out, apparently my head was towards the side of his face and not in front. I blushed.

My reply came super fast, and maybe too much information was given."I'm so sorry, I lost my glasses and now I can't see, and the entrance ceremony is about to start, I am separated from my friends "breath" and I've had the worst day so far in my life and the only good thing is I got a map from the school so I won't get lost and now your questioning me about my intentions "breath" so yeah now my life is pointless right now."

Surprisingly he waited till I was done ranting and before thoughtfully looking at me." You lost your glasses-"

"yes."

"-and you've been looking for them-"

"Yes."

" Are they these?" He held up a pair of black oval glasses with the signature infinity sign on both sides. Those were mine.

I gingerly reached out for them, glancing at his eyes to see if this wasn't another prank. But he nodded and in one motion I put them on my face.

I blinked getting used to them again, before turning to thank him," Thank you, uh…" I realized he never gave me his name.

"Ichinose Tokiya." His eyes stared blankly at me as if he could see my soul-I think.

"Thank you, Ichinose-san. I-"

"Just make sure, you don't lose them again."

Stingy much, I forced a smile," Ok, goodbye Ichinose-san," Stupid good-looking boy.

I gathered Miho and Tomochika to tell them the news.

"You've had a pretty rough day huh, Yumi-chan," Miho said. Why do people keep saying that, oh wait-maybe it's because I have.

"Yeah," Tomochika said, "From this morning, I thought you were shy and reserved but you are full of emotions, especially anger." She placed her hands on her hips in astonishment.

"I noticed too, Yumi-chan, why do you get angry so quick? You don't seem like the person to be mind over reason." Miho said.

I sighed, scratching my head," Actually I don't know when I developed a short temper. I do know that it was before my last year of intermediate school."

"Aw, poor baby," Miho hugged me," I bet you were a shy perfectionist before you were mean." My eye twitched in anger.

"Who says I'm not shy now?!" I gritted my teeth, before I noticed Tomochika was gone. "Uh Miho-chan."

"I think Tomo-chan abandoned us."

Miho flung her arms away and frantically looked about,"Noo, Tomo-chan. I thought you wanted to sit by me?"

I felt sorry for her," It's ok, Miho-chan. I'll sit by you." Miho beamed happily, her smile most likely caused a sunburn to form on my face. "Come on, Yumi-chan, let's find seats."

Sitting down, in our seats, I could see all the students of Saotome Gakuen. I could all their different traits: tall, short, fat, thin, chubby, dark skinned, light skinned, etc. The students, whether receiving excellence or not, would become my greatest obstacle. I loved making new friends but unfortunately that has changed since-

"Miho-chan look," I glanced towards the direction she pointed only to hear her gleeful laugh.

"Made you look!" What a child, I smiled.

The next thing that happened would be so extraordinary so dramatic that my everything this morning, from the cat throwing up, my crazy driver, the screaming boys, my estactic friends, the fan girls, and the hot guys, that it made me unprepared for the ceremony…

"The Saotome Academy Entrance Ceremony is about to begin," the announcer said," But first, a speech from our principal." The announcer waited a bit, and started to panic. It took a few moments for the students to realize that the principal was late. I watched, bored already, wanting this whole thing to be over so I could finish this crazy day. Miho leaned over and whispered in my ear,

" I cannot believe he'll do it again." Miho said, excitement in her voice.

Eh? She said it as if she expected it. What does she mean, Do.."Do what?"

A deep booming laughter echoed throughout the courtyard.
