Chapter 4

3rd P.O.V

The Host club was in Kyoya's family hospital. She was sitting in the lobby with the others. Kyoya to her left, Haruhi to her right. Kurenai hadn't looked at anyone since they got there. She stared at the floor at her hands. She was thinking about what Madoka was going to think about this. Going to the hospital with all of the Host Club members had to be the exact opposite of what the princess wanted.

"You've been awfully quiet," Kyoya said. When there was no answer from the girl, Honey reached out and poked her back. She blinked into consciousness.

"Oh, sorry, what?" she said looking to the others.

"Are you ok? You've been staring into space since we got here," Haruhi noted. Kurenai nodded.

"I'm just tired..." she lied. Haruhi looked to the others with a concerned expression then back to Kurenai. "I'm fine, really," she said. Haruhi sighed and accepted defeat.

"Kurenai Matsuko?" a lady in said as she walked out of a room. Kurenai stood up. The others did too.

"Stay here," she said. When Tamaki tried to argue she looked back at him with a dark glint in her eyes that would make Kiyoya's stare look pathetic. Tamaki cowered behind a chair. "Stay," she said. She walked back into the room with the doctor.

"Are you sure you two aren't related, Kyoya?" Tamaki asked. Kyoya shook his head.

"She'll be a fun one," Hikaru said. Haruhi walked to the room but Tamaki grabbed her wrist and gave her puppy dog eyes.

"She said not to go in there," he whimpered. Haruhi sighed as she shook her hand free.

"I don't care," she said. The twins and Kyoya followed. Honey, Mori, and Tamaki stayed outside but only for a second as curiosity got the better of them and they walked into the room too.

Back With Kurenai...

Kurenai was sitting on the exam table when as the others walked into the room.

"I told you to stay outside," she said with that same dark gleam in her eyes.

"I wanted to see what the doctor was going to say," Haruhi said. The doctor asked her to roll her sleeve up so she could see the cut. Kurenai reluctantly rolled up her shirt sleeve and carefully removed the bandage to reveal even more cuts on her arms than what the Host's had originally seen. They ran all the way up her arm and there were a total of five cuts.

"Oh god..." Tamaki covered his mouth and the others became either worried or surprised. Kurenai turned her head away as the doctor poked at them.

"Kurenai..." Haruhi said.

"How did this happen?" The doctor asked. Kurenai paused.

"I dropped a tea set at my house the other day. I went to pick get up and cut my arm," she said. The room was silent for a second as the doctor wrote something down.

"I'll get this bandage and put some antibiotics on it. All I can do is help it heal faster..." she said. She reached into a cabinet and pulled out some gauze and a pill bottle.

Later...

The visit to the doctor was done and Kurenai wanted to get home as fast as possible but she was stopped by Tamaki.

"We've talked it over, Kurenai," he said. Kurenai gave him a confused look.

"Talked over what?" she asked.

"You joining the Host Club! We could use a tsundere-ish type!" he said. Kurenai crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow.

"First of all, I'm not a tsundere...Second, I didn't think you called the shots around here?" she asked. When Tamaki asked her what she meant, she nodded in Kyoya's direction. "Figured that four eyes over there was the one making all the decisions," she said.

"Perfect tsundere!" Tamaki changed the subject.

"I just handle the money, merchandise, and appointments," Kyoya said, closing his book. Kurenai sighed.

"I'm sorry but no. I can't," she said as she turned to walk home.

"Why?" Tamaki ran in front of her to stop her.

"Look, get out of my way or I'll move you myself," she said as she gave him the demon stare again. His sweat dropped as he didn't move. Kurenai took one step closer to him and he didn't move. The twins ran up and got between the two, acting as a barrier for Tamaki.

"So the Siamese's want to defend the pampered prince? That's amusing," She got closer. She was now only a few inches away from the twins.

"We're not leaving unless you agree to join," Kaoru said. She narrowed her eyes as she watched the twins stand their ground. She looked past them, to Tamaki and scoffed with a smile.

"Not only the lolita has a bodyguard, huh?" she asked as she put a hand on her hip then sighed. "Guess that makes me Madoka's..." She said as her expression softened and the twins moved. "I'll join your stupid club. Only so I can go home," she said as Tamaki moved.

"This oughta be interesting," Hikaru snickered. Kurenai held up a hand as she walked home with her other hand in her pocket.

"See ya!" She said as she walked home. As soon as she got inside, Madoka was right there. "Great..." Kurenai sighed. Madoka grabbed her and pulled her into Kurenai's room.

"What are you doing out so late? I got home an hour ago," she said.

"I was at the hospital getting patched up because of what you did," Kurenai narrowed her eyes.

"You did what?!" Madoka yelled.

"They insisted! I couldn't say no. They wouldn't let me leave," Kurenai explained. Madoka was fuming but instantly calmed down.

"Wait...Wait...This could be good...This could benefit my story...You got help but still wasn't safe! Great!" she smiled. Kurenai wished she was always like this. She used to, back in primary school. They would play together all the time. Madoka was the leader and Kurenai always made sure she smiled. If she wanted to play in the sand pit, she's clear it out for her. If she wanted to be on the swing, she'd make sure there was a swing open even if there wasn't before. THe more she thought about it, she really was like her bodyguard. She sighed as she realized she still felt the same way. She was willing to go along with the plan Madoka had as long as it was what she truly wanted and it made her happy. It would benefit her sister too if she just kept quiet. So, she decided she would. Seeing her only friend and family happy was all that mattered to her.

"If you don't mind Madoka...I'd like to take a shower then go to bed," Kurenai said.

"Whatever," Madoka walked out of the room, leaving Kurenai and her thoughts. She jumped in the shower then got into bed. Kirumi was working late again for Madoka's family, so no one interrupted her. She lay in bed as she thought about what she got herself into when she accepted the position in the Host Club. She could have easily dodged every one of those club members...So why didn't she? Why did she join? She didn't understand what she was thinking. She didn't regret the decision either...
